Blue Devils Spring Bball Comp Session Comes to an End

The Blue Devils played their final game of the spring session on Friday night. Unfortunately, they didn't pull a 'W' and a couple of their players were out but it was still fun to watch Kaedan and the other boys play and we had great company with Grandma and Grandpa Nye, Papa John, and Aunt Amy. Kaedan had several baskets and scored their first 4 points! Great job Kaedan! I only snagged a few pics so I could visit a little.

They're playing in a die hard league called the 'Wednesday Wars'. It starts the week after next and they'll have double headers on Wednesdays for a month. We've never played in that league so it will be fun to check out.
Until then...

Carter's Stomach Issues Update

This post is mainly for documentation purposes for Carter's health log, but you're welcome to read on if you'd like... Carter has been having issues with his stomach since last summer. He's one tough kid, but his stomach pains have put him in tears and literally floored him at times. Initially his doctor thought he may have stomach ulcers. We couldn't see anything on his CT scans, but he began a couple regimens of Prilosec, Maalox after meals, and an altered diet. His stomach pains seemed to improve somewhat (or he got more used to them) but they never went away. Lately, he's been complaining more about his stomach. He's also been sick a lot with just about everything that's going around. He's missed 12 days of school this year and that's with us sending him when he's on the fence. So... Thursday I decided enough is enough when he was throwing up and crying because of stomach pains, his asthma, and a headache. I took him back in 10 days after he was in there last for bronchitis. The prognosis?... His doctor is now thinking his health issues may be stemming from allergies. Lately when Carter has stomach pains (and even sometimes when he doesn't) he also has asthma attacks and headaches. Dr. Degrauw said that he sounded mucusy (is that a word? :) ) and could be swallowing up to 2 1/2 gallons of mucus a day and that mucus could give him headaches, trigger asthma attacks, and cause an upset stomach. When his asthma is acting up he's also more likely to catch other illnesses. So... Carter's going in for allergy testing this Thursday. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on and get it fixed pretty quick. If not, Carter's doctor wants his stomach scoped to figure out what's going on. We're hoping it doesn't come to that. We'll keep you posted...

Sports Revolution Speed Training

The boys had their last session of speed camp on Thursday. Sports Revolution took some cool pictures of them and put them on their facebook page. They've done so much with the boys and the boys have looked forward to each Tuesday and Thursday. Sports Revolution will be posting pictures of this weeks sessions shortly. Here are some pictures from last week..

Sports Revolution did a great job with these guys! And I'm glad Kaedan and Carter liked it and did so well. I have to admit though, I am glad to not be double-booked on Tuesday and triple book on Thursdays anymore.

10 Year Lifetime Anniversary

I just celebrated my 10 year anniversary at Lifetime on April 26th. Wow! Troy and I celebrated multiple double digit anniversaries this week! Troy will be celebrating his 15 year anniversary next March. We are getting too old!! Lifetime is a great company to work for! I love the people I work with!! I love what I do (most days)!! I have been in my current position for about 8 years. Since staying home with Tre isn't an option for me at this point, I've really been trying to focus on being grateful for the job I have and not being depressed and ungrateful for not being able to be home. I still feel guilty every day, but I'm working on that too. :) I love the fact that work is so close to home and the boys' school and daycare. Lifetime is so family oriented, and they really care about their employees and do what they can for each one. Many employees donate several dollars each paycheck to go into a fund to help employees in need or amidst a crisis. I will be forever grateful that they set me up to work from home for several months while Tre was sick with cavitating pneumonia and RSV. They hold a health fair every fall and give flu shots and provide free health screenings. They provide emergency preparedness plans and 72 hour kits. They hold profit sharing every 6 months and share 10% of the profit with employees. They celebrate 5 year, 10 year, 15 year and above anniversaries and reward their employees for these achievements. Each summer they rent out Lagoon or Raging Waters and BBQ. The list goes on and on. Lifetime is celebrating 25 years this year!! A huge thanks to Barry and Kathy Mower for the wonderful company they own and the opportunity Troy and I have to be a part of it!! We did meet at Lifetime after all. It will always have a special place in our hearts!

Go Gym Rats!!

I haven't posted any pictures of Carter's comp basketball games for awhile so I thought I'd shoot a few at his game Monday night. I was visiting during the game so I didn't get a lot and it's so hard to get good pictures under those dang flourescent lights. Here's Troy giving the team a pep talk at the beginning of the game. And again during one of the time outs.

I don't remember what happened here but you can tell by Carter's body language it isn't good. lol!

Carter's cute teacher, Mrs. Saylards, came to his game. She came to one of his football games too. She's such an amazing teacher! We sure love her!! Thanks for coming and supporting Carter!!

Papa John and Grandma Kim came too! Thanks as always guys!

Great job Carts! We love watching you play pal!

Go Green Rattlesnakes!

Tre's soccer team, The Green Rattlesnakes, have played a few games now and Tre's having a ball! It's so funny that he has a Troy, a Kaden, and a Carter on his team. He was so excited to bring treats to their first game! Here he is with his twinkie coming off the field. Can you tell how excited he is? lol! Kaedan and Carter were really excited for him! They couldn't wait to give him hugs after his first game!

Here are some cute pics of Tre and Coach Daddy before their latest game. I've used a few different SD cards during these games so the pictures aren't in perfect order.
Tre playing around on the field.
Aunt Holly has sent us some cute pics as well. Thanks Holly!
Here's Tre with cousin Carter.
It was so cold at his Tuesday game! Thanks for being such troopers and still coming to cheer him on Grandma Nye and Marilyn!
Tre got so close to a goal on Tuesday! Just a few more inches...
It started snowing and Tre loved it as you can see!
Love this pic!
Here's a pic of Tre with his cheering squad from Tuesday. Notice how it's taken in the car? It was really cold! lol! I especially love the bunny ears on Grandma Nye. Nice Troy! lol!
Tre preparing for his drop kick...
...and nailing it!
Naomi seems to have a bit of a crush on the coach, Here's Troy helping her up in the middle of the field when she'd sat down losing interest. So cute!!!
And here's Tre's cheering squad from Thursday's game. Thanks for coming out and cheering him on Papa John, Aunt Amy, and cousin Mylie!
Tre was showing Ty how to get in a football three point stance one game. lol!
Another cute pic of Tre and cousin Carter from Aunt Holly!
And Holly also snagged a picture of the team getting their picture taken. Thanks Holly!
We love watching you play Tre! We know how long you've been waiting! You're doing great! Go Green Rattlesnakes!!

Happy Easter!

We celebrated Easter the entire week leading up to it. It was nice to choose activities and read stories and scriptures centered around everything that happened that week. Thanks for the books you get us each year to support this Grandma Nye! Saturday we had the annual West Point City Easter egg hunt. It was cold but fun!

This was Kaedan's last year participating. He's getting too old. :( Here he is with some of his friends.
All the Nye cousins were there with the exception of cousin Porter. Hopefully next year he'll be old enough to enjoy it too. :)
Notice Tre isn't in this cousin picture? He was so excited to see the Easter Bunny, but when we got there he was terrified. lol!
Then it was off to Papa John and Grandma Kim's for an Easter egg hunt and some pizza later that afternoon. Each of the grandkids had an egg with their name on it and some $$ in it which the boys were really excited for as Tre demonstrates...
They looked high...
And low...
And of course there was some sibling rivalry. The funniest thing was that there was another egg to their right.
Aunt Amy was giving some good clues. :)
Tre loved playing in their new backyard. Their new house isn't done yet. Pictures to come when it is.
Cousin Egan, though just over a year old, was quite the candy thief. Kaedan was pretty cute with him.
Here are Papa John and Grandma Kim with the grandkids, minus Mylie who wasn't there that weekend. :( Thanks for the fun evening and all the work you put into it guys!!
We colored Easter eggs after we got home. They were a sports pack (of course) and the boys wanted to act the sports out...
The boys and their favorite eggs...
The Easter Bunny paid us a visit...
Tre was ecstatic about this car that he could build and paint with Dad and take to sacrament later that day. He had seen a similar one at Toys 'R Us and really wanted it.
The Easter Bunny hid more eggs for the boys to find. Then we came in and had Grandma Nye's best breakfast quiche recipe.
Daddy and Tre got to work on the car. Sorry. No finished project pics...
After church it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Nye's for the annual Easter egg hunt and yummy Easter dinner.
They were pretty creative with the hiding spots...
Each kid had en egg with their name on it and when they found it they took it to Grandma Nye for their Easter shirt and gift. Of course Kaedan and Carter were so quick I didn't get pictures of their exchanges.
Another cousin pic with everyone!!
The boys grabbed Uncle Brad for some basketball like they always do. They sure love him!!
Cousin Shelby found the gold egg with $2o in it! Way to go Shelby!! Cousins Cassidy and Caitlyn made out with some money filled eggs as well. Way to go girls!
Kaedan found the other gold egg. He had his shoes off outside and Grandpa was clever and hid it in his shoe. When Troy and I saw that he was running around in his socks we told him to get his shoes on not knowing were the egg was hidden... Ta da!
Grandma always goes all out for the holidays and decorates her house and the never-ending dinner table so pretty.
Her neice made this amazing cake for dessert that was so yummy! She is extremely talented!!
Thanks so much for the great evening Grandma and Grandpa Nye! Thanks for everything you put into it!
We are so thankful for our Savior and for the atonement and resurrection! Easter morning was so beautiful and fitting!
Happy Easter everyone!!
