Blue Devils Syracuse High Half Time Scrimmage

Kaedan's comp basketball team was invited to play in a scrimmage during half time of the Syracuse High boys basketball state play-in game. They were so excited! It's been a weekend full of basketball again with Kaedan's double header on Friday night (one game of which went into double overtime!), Carter and Troy's basketball practice this morning, and Kaedan's scrimmage tonight! We love it though! They had front row seats to watch the high school game.

Then went out there at half time for their scrimmage. The announcers even introduced each of them which they thought was pretty cool.

It was fun to go to one of the high school games and feel their excitement and spirit! It also reminded me that Kaedan will be there in 4 short years! Ahhhhh!!!!!!

Oh, Through The Eyes of a Child...

Tre makes me laugh every time I pick him up from the babysitters! I don't know if it's the fact that he's so funny during that time or if it's the fact that I've missed him and longed for him so much all day. I had to document how the other day went. lol! Tre told me that his friend let him try some 'beef turkey'. I told him it's actually called 'beef jerky'. He then called it 'beef jerk me'. lol! We had to stop by Wal-Mart to pick up some ink for our printer and a puzzle for Tre and he had to use the restroom while we were there. He stood and started doing his business and the automatic flusher flushed right in the middle of it. Let's just say Tre backed up and turned to the side but never stopped doing his business. lol! Oh the look of horror on his face! :) On the way out of Wal-Mart Tre was so upset that someone dropped their 'pizza dollar' (really a pizza coupon) in the parking lot. And on the way home he saw someone walking outside and said to himself 's-u-c-k-e-r.' Don't know where he got that from but I wasn't expecting it and was laughing so hard. I had to explain to him once I calmed down that we probably shouldn't say that. And there's a little peek into about a half hour with my funny little guy! You are so stinkin' cute Tre! I love you SO much!

Harlem Globetrotters

We took the boys to see the Harlem Globetrotters again this year and had a great time! It was nice to have some time off with the boys! We had a full day of basketball with Carter's double header that night. :)

Tre loved Globie!
It was fun to see Big Budha there again this year. He was so sweet to our boys last year when we went down for autographs and pictures. We had to leave early to get back to Carter's game this year.
Carter's favorite player this year was Ant. He was small and pesky on the court just like Carter. lol!
Tre loved Big G too.
The boys were lovin' the show! Kaedan was laughing too but wouldn't let me get a picture.
These guys are definitely entertaining!
We had a great day with you boys!

Happy Valentines! X0X0

We began our valentines celebration at Sunday dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Nye's. We all brought Italian dishes. It was so yummy! Tre and cousin Kaylee. Kaedan and cousin Shelby. Carter and cousin Shelby.

(Don't you just love how photogenic the boys are in these pictures? I told them they need to smile better for Grandma next time.)
Grandma got all the grand kids these yummy chocolates...
All the sons the book 'The Wednesday Letters' and a Subway gift card...
And all the daughters these gorgeous necklaces. They have our and our hubby's names on them and the date we were married. They're all designed totally different.
When Grandma tended Tre she helped him make these cute valentines for us. :) He was so excited to give them to us. Thanks for everything Grandma Nye!
That night we gave the boys their little valentines from us. I made these bags a few years ago and we just re-use them every year.
We got them a few goodies~ a coupon book redeemable for family game nights, pizza for dinner nights, a 'no chores' day, a one on one date with mom or dad, etc. and their valentines for each other. These were the same valentines they took to school and the babysitters. A friend of mines daughter-in-law did these last year and I loved how they turned out. You take a picture with the kids holding their hands out and then cut a slit in it and insert a sucker. lol!
I decided to make a homemade card for Troy this year.
And told him 24 reasons why I loved him. I found these ideas on http://www.thedatingdivas.com/ which is now officially one of my favorite sites! You should check it out if you haven't already. It's a website for married couples with date ideas, etc.
Kaedan received a Valentine gram from a secret admirer at school. :)
And we ended the night with a heart shaped pizza and caught up on American Idol from the week before.
Troy and I went out for valentines on Saturday and went to dinner and watched a movie. It was much needed! Thanks for taking the boys Papa John and Grandma Kim!
I love you so much all my family and friends! I am so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life!
Hope everyone had a great Valentines! XOXO

Boy Oh Boy...

Our boys are growing up way too fast! Kaedan's carrying that teenage swagger, getting valentine's from secret admirers, and starting to get phone calls from silly girls. Carter's starting to hang with friends a lot more and has discovered the phone. Yesterday Tre asked me how you get on Santa's 'naughty list'. I told him you have to do something (or several somethings) that are pretty bad and gave him some examples. He said " 'Cause I didn't share with Bodhi at Debbie's (his babysitters) today" and just shook his head. lol! I LOVE you boys!!! Now slow down that growin' !!!

Little Red Riding Hood 2011

I'm going to be riding 36-50 miles in the Little Red Riding Hood all girls cycling event on June 4th! I'm so excited! I have some great friends at work who thought it would be fun to do together since I can't run anymore. It's non-competitive and we're just looking for it to be some fun girl time. We'll stay overnight up there and have dinner, a sock hop, and a ton of fun with the rest of the gals that were able to get in before the 3k spots filled up in less than 24 hours! Then it's up for breakfast and off for the big ride while trying to stay away from the Big Bad Wolf! We had so much fun at Ragnar! I'm so excited to be able to do another event like this together!
Wish us luck! :)

Mommy, Daddy, Tre Date

While the big boys went to the Jazz game with Grandma Kim and cousin Jace, Tre had a date with Mommy and Daddy. We went mini golfing, trampoline jumping, obstacle course running through the inflatables, and then enjoyed a nice hot fudge shake! What a fun night!

We love you Mr. Tre and we had a great night with you Bud!

Jazz Game

For Christmas Papa John and Grandma Kim got Kaedan and Carter Jazz tickets for Wednesday's game against the Bulls. Papa was trying so hard to keep that night free from work but ended up having to fly out on Monday for work. :( Grandma Kim took cousin Jace in his place and though the boys missed Papa, they had a lot of fun with Grandma and Jace!

Thanks Grandma Kim! The boys have been looking forward to this ever since Christmas and the night definitely didn't disappoint! :)

SEP Conferences = Smarty Pants x 2

The boys had their SEP conferences on February 1st and we were so proud of them as always! They're both exceling in all subjects. They're reading several grade levels above their own and they're both off the charts in math! Kaedan is in 6th grade this year. He's testing at an 8.29 course level in math (which is equivalent to an eight grade level 3 months into the school year). He does a lot of his math on the computer since he's not challenged with math in the classroom any longer. The computer program they have only goes up to an 8.9 course level so his teacher anticipates he'll test out of that in the next few months! She suggested he skip pre-algebra next year and go right into algebra. She said Kaedan's a great leader and she fully expects him to take several courses of AP classes and start getting college credit in high school! :) Carter is in 4th grade this year. He was recognized as her all star student in recognition of his positive attitude in learning new concepts. She said his learning is contagious and he motivates others around him to learn. She said Carter has a special way of simplyfying and teaching other students when they're not grasping the way she's trying to teach them. She said Carter's amazing at times tables! He finished a full worksheet in just under 4 minutes which is a record. He came in at less than half the time of the other students and nearly a third the time off the class average. Way to go boys! We are SO proud of you!!!

Our Little Snuggle Bug!

Tre and Kaedan fell asleep watching a movie a couple weeks ago and they looked so cute I had to take a picture. Look what a snuggle bug this little dude is!

Go Pack Go!

We had so much fun watching the superbowl! We bantered back and forth with Grandma Lisa (who's a Steelers fan) and Cheered with Papa (who's a Packers fan like Kaedan). We had lots of yummy food of course! The boys favorites were the big sub sandwiches in green for the Packers and yellow and black for the Steelers. I even wore one of Kaedan's Packers jerseys for the day to help show some Packers spirit. I do like them when they're not playing the Giants! lol!

Go Pack Go!!!

Poor Focus!

I was in a wreck right outside of work a few weeks ago. I was going to turn into a parking stall and this guy just flew around me to the left and never even stopped. Luckily no one was injured. I was so taken off guard I didn't even think to call the police. Duh!! We just exchanged information, and luckily, both insurance companies found him at fault so his insurance company ended up paying to fix the car.

BEFORE
AFTER
(sorry~ I was too cold to pull it into the driveway for this pic. And I hate the construction they're doing on our street that has mud everywhere!)
Tre LOVED our rental car while the focus was being fixed. He thinks any white car, truck, or SUV is a 'rental car'. lol! Every day when we'd get home from work and the babysitters he would have to take his turn driving.
We plan to get a new car (well, new to us) next year after the Tahoe's paid off. Can't wait! I've been driving that focus for 11 years now and am so excited to get something else!!
