Kaedan's 2nd Session of Comp Basketball

Kaedan's 2nd session of comp basketball started a couple weeks ago. This will be the last session until after football. He's doing very well playing up a year and hanging with the 6th graders and he's having a lot of fun and has met some great kids. We're hoping playing up a year will be to his advantage when he gets into jr. high and high school. I didn't get the greatest pictures. Still need one of those big expensive lights for the camera under those dang gym lights! I got a few okay ones though. And more importantly, I was able to cheer and watch the game! :)

He was doing really good at full court pressing. It's nice that he's starting to be able to use his size to his advantage!

Go Blue Devils!

Carter's Physical Therapy

Carter had his first physical therapy appointment on Monday. The good news~ He's able to start being weaned out of his boot! Yahoo! The bad news~ Still another 6 weeks before he can play sports. A big bummer for Carts! His therapist thinks proprioception training and exercises will help Carter's loose ligaments even more than his braces will with sports. Proprioception refers to a sense of 'joint position'. It's highly common in rehabilitation of injured athletes and can also be used to prevent injury. It's basically balance training and agility. Hopefully this is the key because Carter's a sports addict! He's so athletically gifted and it's sad he's had some pretty big set-backs already at only 9 years old! His first time in the whirlpool warming up his muscles... And the foot massage and muscle rotation. Ahh! The best part of therapy! Some strengthening exercises. He has to do these twice a day.

And some work on the total gym. Cater's favorite part!
Icing afterwards.
Okay, Mom! Enough pictures!
We'll keep ya posted! Luckily baseball doesn't begin until May so we still signed him up. Soccer goes through Mid-May so he should be able to make his last couple soccer games as well. Yeah!

Happy Birthday Mylie!

We went to cousin Mylie's birthday party on Saturday and were able to see Amy and Jared's now home. We're so excited for you guys! Can't believe I didn't get a picture. Don't know where my head was that day! Of course I didn't have the camera ready for the really cute moments either, like when Tre went up and gave Mylie a big bear hug and kissed her on the forehead when we first got there. They had fun playing in Mylie's house. :) Happy birthday Mylie! Gotta love that blue frosting!

It was fun to see baby Egan too! We're sad Nicole and Bryson live in Riverton! Better than Idaho though. I can't believe he's already 2 1/2 months old! He was so cute smiling, but of course I never got that on camera either.
Kaedan and Carter had fun playing outside. Carter and Kobe (Jared's middle boy) gravitate toward one another. I see little partners in crime in the future. LOL!

March Birthday Celebration!

We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Nye's for Sunday dinner and to celebrate the March birthdays last weekend. Of course Grandma Nye had it decked out really cute in St. Patrick's day decor, but for some reason I can't find my pictures I took with my phone camera that day. I hope you don't mind I took pics from your blog Katie! Love ya! It's funny that Brad, Dana, and I were the last to join the Nye fam and our birthdays are all within a few days of each other.

The kids loved playing outside and it was hilarious to see Grandpa Nye in the helicopter!
More pics of Brad and Kaedan and Carter being boys outside! I'm tellin' ya, I don't know what they'll do if Brad can't make a family get-together one time. They'll go through withdrawals! LOL!
Thanks everyone for a great day!

The BIG 30!

I turned the BIG 30 on St. Patrick's Day. 30 doesn't seem old when I'm talking about other people, but I have to admit it's freaked me out a little bit to no longer be in my 20's. Troy went to maturation with Kaedan at school today too! Now I really feel old! It doesn't seem too long ago that I was sitting in that same class just wanting to die. Now I can't tease Troy about being in his 30's either! LOL! He was so nervous when he turned 30 a few years ago and I totally decorated/destroyed his office with 30's decorations. I have to say, he outdid me! This is what my office looked like when I got to work that morning.

I was shocked! This is totally outside of Troy's personality and oh so cute! Thanks Curt for helping too!
We weren't going to have much time together that night since Kaedan had comp bball practice from 4 to 5:30, Troy and Carter had comp bball practice from 4:30 to 6, and Troy and Carter had a Jr. Jazz game at 8 so we decided to do lunch. We went to Zupa's since I've heard it's really good. Yummy is all I have to say. That night I was surprised to find out that Troy drove over to the Jr. Jazz assistant coach's house since he couldn't reach him on the phone to see if he would coach that night so he could spend some extra time with me. He has never missed coaching a game, even though Carter hasn't been able to play for the last 6 weeks. So sweet! I have the best hubby ever!!! Thanks Babe! The boys and I shared a birthday shake from Iceburg that night and we just hung out. It was great!
Thanks all my boys! I love you so much!!!

Grandparents Day!

Grandma and Grandpa Nye were Kaedan and Carter's dates to Grandparents Day at school on Wednesday morning. They had so much fun showing them around and introducing them to their friends and teachers! Grandma Nye said it perfectly~ Carter's the enjoyment of his class and Kaedan is every teachers dream. LOL! Thanks so much for going Grandma and Grandpa Nye! The boys had a blast and loved showing you off!

Look Who's Cruisin' Around Town!

Troy drove past one of our buildings at work earlier this week and noticed this in the back window of one of our delivery trucks. What are the chances it would be kids in our family with all the families at Lifetime? What cute kiddos~ Kaedan, Carter, and cousin Shelby! Look how young they all look! Little celebrities! LOL!

Disney on Ice!!

We went to Disney on Ice this weekend and had such a fun time! Kaedan and Carter even liked it. The cars were all of our favorite with the exception of Tre who's favorite was Mickey and the gang. We thought it was hilarious to see Tre laugh so hard when Goofy and Pumba fell (as part of their acts). Tre's at the stage where this is all so magical to him. I love it! Our boys are growing up way too fast! :( Here's our good looking boys themselves. And pictures of the event! I took a bunch of them! I heard this morning there were signs that said no cameras were allowed, but I didn't see any of them and our tickets just said no video cameras were allowed. For the Harlem Globetrotters they said no cameras at all were allowed so I thought we were okay. Oops!

The boys thought the confetti at the end was really cool. They had a contest to see who could catch the most. Carter won!
