Bring on the Cereal!

Tre started rice cereal on Wednesday. He's still almost two weeks away from his 4 month birthday but the doctor gave us the green light once I explained that I didn't think the milk alone was cutting it considering he's 17 pounds and most 16 week olds are just about doubling their birth weight which would only put him at 13. He's liking the cereal and took to it a lot easier than I thought he would. It will be so fun going through this stage with the different baby foods again. We're prepared for the mess and laughs we'll experience along the way. It will be fun with the older boys being able to help (Kaedan's already asked) and be a part of it all too!

Kaedan's Booth

Here is Kaedan at his booth for the economics fair. He had a great time and was very proud of himself as you can see from the picture! He sold out of his iron-on transfers just after lunch. They sold like hotcakes after he lowered the ticket price! Whadda ya know? He liked the instant gratification though he didn't earn as much dough for the item auction. It was so loud in that gym. Pretty entertaining too! We walked through and bought items from the little kids in our neighborhood and received plenty of sales pitches from many other kids along the way. Some had their heads down on their desks pouting due to low sales- must be their planner! It was a sight to see! :)

Our First Snow!

I'm not a huge fan of snow. Especially after Christmas is over. It seems so much colder outside than when we were kids! Kaedan and Carter love it though and it's fun to watch them! Carter built this little snowman all by himself while Kaedan was at cub scouts on Tuesday. He missed one of the main points of the beanie- to keep his ears warm! Oh, and all he wants for Christmas is his two front teeth. :)

Must Watch TV

Tre has been so funny with tv. He loves the bright colors and sounds. Troy was trying to talk to him the other day and Tre scrunched down through his lap and bent his head backwards so he could see it. He continued to watch it this way for a few minutes too. He comes up with the most akward positions! I wonder where he gets his stubbornness from. We'll say Troy since he's not here right now to defend himself... :)

3rd Grade Economics Fair

Kaedan has his 3rd grade economics fair this week. The whole 3rd grade is doing a project to earn money for field trips, etc. They are learning about the work place and the economy. They each had to pick a product or service to sell. Kaedan (with Dad's help) chose to sell iron-on transfers so the kids can design their own shirts. Troy was able to create football, soccer, basketball, and cheerleading 'Lakeside' shirts. Kaedan is so excited for this project. He and Troy have really had a fun time doing it. Kaedan said that some of the other kids at school were saying that they were sad they didn't have dads as creative as his. It will be cool for Kaedan to see some of the kids wearing the shirts he and Dad designed. He is going to wear an 'example' shirt during their business day on Thursday. He chose the name Flame Cool Iron-On Transfers. They even have their own little business cards. Parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to come by and purchase items if they want. They range from 25 cents to a few dollars each. I'll email the times tomorrow if anyone's interested.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a different Thanksgiving this year. The boys thought it would be fun to stay in our pj's all day and eat pizza and Ally's garlic cheese rolls. Of course we still had to finish off with coconut cream pie! Thank goodness nursing burns off extra calories! The big boys and dad played football during half time of the Cowboys game while mom fed the baby- I wish I would've got a picture. Sorry! I'm so excited for them to play in the city league in the fall. Carter especially can't wait! I think we're going to have to train him that you can't talk smack in that league though. He was full of it today. He's learned from the best- thanks Honey! We've had a great relaxing day. We've never stayed home for Thanksgiving. We're going to make our real thanksgiving dinner this weekend. We couldn't go without it completely! We are all thankful for the same thing in different words-our family! Kaedan added to that and was thankful for family and FOOD! Here's the pictures I'm putting in Tre's baby book for his first Thanksgiving. He likes to sit up on the couch. You can see he has Carter's attention span!

4 to 1

Am I outnumbered or what? I love to see all my boys chillin' out together. We were watching Kid Nation last night (Kaedan and Carter love it) and I just had to snap this picture! It's nice to sit down and watch a show together. I think that's the only time other than when all the little ones are asleep that our house is actually quiet. It's amazing how loud boys are! Growing up with 4 girls- I am definitely learning a lot! Boys are so much fun though- how sweet they are to their mom and how they idolize their dad! I love the saying that my sis-in-law Katie got me last Christmas- There's a special place in Heaven for mothers with boys- Amen!

Tre's Goin' Surfin'...

Tre loves his new little surfboard for tummy time! It's really cool because you fill the front part up with water and it has a fish, a frog and a dolphin that swim around. I think he mainly likes it because he can suck on the pad that holds his chest up. Anything and everything he comes into contact with now goes in his mouth and we have officially entered the drool zone. I hope he doesn't take after his big brother Carter (that still sounds so weird) and drool until he's about ready for school. Everyone remember that stage? :) The surf board's made tummy time so much more enjoyable and it even measures how tall he is. He's 26" tall. We go to his 4 month appointment in the next couple weeks and I'm curious to see how far off the charts he is now! Luckily he hasn't moved past the 12 month clothes yet!

Too Big for His Britches!

Tre just thinks he's big time now! He's starting to be able to lift his head up and he likes to sit (with help of course). Here he is in the recliner. He loves to be a little independent- for bits at a time. I'm glad that at least for now he still loves to snuggle a lot too!

It was time to buy Tre some new pj's as he's outgrown his 6-9 month footed ones. Yes- he was 3 months yesterday. Time flies when you're having fun! Again, I think he's going to be a baller and be very well off later on. Carter will be pro football player (not because of his size but because of his spunkiness), Kaedan a pro soccer player and Tre a pro basketball player and maybe they'll share some of their dough with Mom and Dad. :) Anyway, these are too cute on him! I love babies in their little pj's. They seem even more sweet and cuddly! These are size 12 months. A bit big but he was right at the limit for the 6-9 months so he'll grow into them- in no time I'm sure!

Go Cowboys!

Kaedan and Carter did another photo shoot for Grandpa Nye's company. They love when they get to 'work' and earn some money! We normally make them put half in the bank but this once we let them spend it all. I know- suckers! They spent it thoughtfully. When they only have a few dollars they burn a hole in their pockets. Carter bought this Romo jersey. He's been wanting one for awhile and Kaedan got a Packers jersey from Grandma Lisa for his birthday so Carter really wanted one! Kaedan got a cool remote control car that does tricks, a lava lamp and a ninja turtle.

What Hams!!

Today's been a funny day with the boys! Where do I start? I could write a whole blog on what comes out of Carter's mouth on a daily basis. As if Kaedan and Carter weren't already hams. Now Tre gets quite the kick out of them so they've turned it up a notch. Tre's been studying, gabbing and smiling more than ever today. He makes the cutest sounds! He's turning into quite the drool machine too! Troy's taught Carter to quote Talladega nights. He says 'I want to go fast' and Troy speeds up and he says 'Yee Haw!'. I got to witness it first hand. :) Carter saw my headband on the counter today and asked what it was. When I told him he said I could be a basketball player! Remember a couple years ago when he made a headband and wristband out of paper at school so we had to go buy him some? As for Kaedan, he thinks it's fun to dance and watch Tre's reaction. It's pretty funny!
