Happy Birthday Cinderella!

We celebrated Claire's 2nd birthday last month. We had a great weekend with bowling, lots of treats, and a little party with her grandparents and Aunt Sis. Of course the party theme was "Princess"- and what a darling little Cinderella she was! Happy Birthday sweetie!

HAHA! My dad's photoshop skills are very impressive, and quite comical at times....

Photo Fest

My sweethearts- right after we arrived home from the hospital
Lucy getting ready to come home from the hospital
The enormously talented Grandma ReVoe came to visit the night we came home, and brought the most darling and beautiful quilt! Thanks so much!
This is how we find Claire most of the time- telling us "Bye bye! Going to Schooo!"

Florrie- Who does Lucy look like in this picture? I think she looks just like baby Savy!
Our adorable little Lucy Pie- Claire informed me that this was her name

Four generations- pretty cool huh?

Meet Lucy

She is FINALLY here! Lucy Jean Nuttall was born Saturday January 24th at 8:54 am. She weighs 7 lb 9 oz, 19 1/2 in long, and in our opinion, is the definition of bliss and perfection!
I will try to keep the details to a minimum, but basically I was having pretty good contractions all day Friday. By 11:00 pm, they were coming less than five minutes apart, so we decided it was time to go to the hospital. I labored all night (they wouldn't do anything to speed up the labor because I was "Group B" positive) and finally was ready to deliver at about 8:15. Once the doctor arrived (about 8:35) she was born in less than fifteen minutes and two pushes! -she certainly knew the way to my heart :).

our support team- faithful grandmothers who were there with us all night!

She is an absolute ANGEL and we are so thrilled to welcome her into our family.
*Even Claire acts like Lucy has been part of the family forever- she loves her and for the most part is very gentle with her (except for one minor incident where she tried to push her off the bed- yeah, more to come on this story- it is worthy of it's own post:).

Conversations with Claire

I guess it really is time to have another baby. My baby Claire is not so much a baby anymore, as evidenced by this recent conversation (as if the fact that we are even having a conversation is not proof enough):
Claire: (while laying flat on her back in the bath with only her little face and belly sticking out of the water) "Tickle mommy!" (pulling my hand to her tummy)

Me: "Ok. Claire are you going to start sleeping in a big girl bed?"

Claire: "Yeah, Gramma's." (this is where the "big girl bed" Claire will probably be using currently resides)

Me: "Yep, your big girl bed is at Grandma's right now, but we are going to bring it to YOUR room. Who is going to need your crib?

Claire: (sits up) "Baby!" (pointing to my tummy-laughs as usual when she notices my bulging stomach)

Me: "That's right! What is baby sister's name?"

Claire: "ZUCIE!" (then lays back down in the water, grabs my hand, and says..."Ticka... nigh, nigh.")

There you have it. Big sister Claire is ready to share her crib and make room for little "Zucie."

*Oh, and if you don't believe me that my little 20 month old child is really that insistent on being "tickled" constantly, just look at these pictures as proof. Thanks Chelsey:)

Aminals.

Over the summer, Claire developed quite an obsession with animals. Namely (in order of greatest enthusiasm) "Doggos," "Kitty's," "Bowdie's" (birds) and "Orsies." I promise, you have never in your life seen a child get so excited about seeing an animal. And she is pretty fearless. If I were a good mother, I would have a picture of her with her favorite "doggo" of them all, "Choco," that lives down the street from us. It is the cutest little Pomeranian (I think) and Claire goes nuts over it, letting it jump right up on her and lick her face and her hands... she just squeals and thinks it is the greatest thing ever. When we even talk about Choco, she holds her hand out in a fist to show me what she does to let the doggie lick her hand.
