CONGRATULATIONS!

Christmas and the New year bring all kinds of happiness and good news.

I'm sure so many people know of friends and relatives who got engaged over the festive period, and for us it was our very own Colette!

So a big congratulations to all the happy couples and especially Colette and Andrew, I foresee months of making wedding stationary ahead!

This card was made with my future sister in law and brother in mind, to wish them every happiness together, but I think the design would also be suitable for lots of other special occasions, including Valentines.

Ladybug and Friends 'You and Me' is so very cute and really versatile, its ideal for all manner of occasions from weddings to new baby's, romantic cards to best friends and family greetings!

Sundays Best

Congratulations to Kim who won the spoonful of sugar challenge we sponsored a few weeks ago.
Hopefully her prize will have arrived by now and she will be crafting to her hearts content!

This card features one of the stamps included in Kim’s prize: High Hopes ‘Sundays Best’. It is a concertina style card, with details on each fold to give a layered effect.

Back layer: Round die cut stamped with High Hopes ‘Large Sunny Face’.
Middle layer: High Hopes ‘Garden Gate’.
Front layer: High Hopes ‘Sundays Best’, Prima ‘Sandies Favourites’ in Jealoussea, Prima ‘Centre Kisses’ in Aqua.

Because there is no exact centre to the card, the back fold is the best place for a sentiment and message.
Thanks for looking, Katie.

MISS MARISSA

This card was made specially for my Husbands Gran, who celebrated her birthday on the 2nd January.

I chose High Hopes 'Miss Marissa' because she is just so smiley, a definite reminder of the cards recipient!

The image was stamped in black ink and coloured with shimmer paints. I then cut the image into an oval and mounted it on a thick piece of lilac card, also cut into a scalloped oval.

I used a thicker piece of base card for the mount. This is because it is a kick stand style card and needed some strength to prop it up. I have used decorative card stock from Prima for the backing and embellished the front with Prima 'Heavenly' flowers and pale pink Centre Kisses. The top of the card has been finished with a ribbon bow, heart charm, and die cut letters.

Thanks for looking, Katie.

VAMPIRE BITE

We have been bitten by the Twilight bug, the amazing series of books by Author Stephenie Meyer. Reading is one of my favourite hobbies, and at the moment myself and Colette can't get enough of these fabulous stories.

I decided that a good bookmark was needed to keep us in the right place (for when we can finally tear ourselves away from reading). For Colette's bookmark I immediately thought of Magnolias 'Tilda with Glasses', she is just so cute and looks very 'bookish' with her pigtails and spectacles.
My bookmark is made with Magnolias 'Halloween Edwin', a tribute to the books lead character!

Both bookmarks are made from a 20cm x 5cm piece of prima double sided card stock with rounded corners. Tilda and Edwin have been stamped on white card and coloured with shimmer paints and watercolours. Tilda has been layered up onto a few books made from scraps of card, and both bookmarks have a prima flower embellishment at the top. I laminated them both (for extra protection from wear and tear) and finished with an eyelet and a few ribbon strands.

A perfect reminder for where I'm up to!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Its been a hectic few months, but I'm so glad to be back blogging...Finally!

Just after my last post my computer died and unfortunately there was no way for me to blog. Then there was the small event of my Wedding (which was great - but over way too quickly), and a wonderful honeymoon followed by a nasty bout of the virus everyone seems to have caught!

However Father Christmas kindly brought me a new P.C, so here is my first card of 2009, to wish everyone a Happy New Year from Nutcrafters.

We were also very lucky to sponsor the last challenge of 2008 from A Spoon Full of Sugar blog. The winner should be announced very soon, so keep checking.

Thanks for looking, Katie.
