ooo.. it's sunday!! my 1st ever 'whole-day' break since i started at SGH.. so so happy.. but quite sad oso la.. tml still gotta back SGH.. budden tuesday is labour day!! hA..

AND AND AND.. it's Phantom of The Opera with the gang tonight!!! OOTGR rocks my socks.. lala.. hA..

oo.. and i received the graduation package already.. graduation's on 13th June!! reservation of graduation gown on 11th May.. lalala..

omg.. dunno why feel so happy and excited for them.. heartbeat was so fast when i first got the news.. graduated from there for about 4 yrs.. still feel so much for them.. that's why i must come online and blog about it.. so happie!!

oo.. and i got a letter that says this: " Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that you will be receiving the following CCA Award Certificate: Bronze Certificate of Achievement in CCA "

im like damn damn sad ok.. freaking sad.. i dunno wad to do..

gonna teach ossia's guitar students Aural for their Trinity practical exam.. and hopefully be accompanist to 13 violin students from tampines and pasir ris for their violin exams in july.. but the thing is i cant be accompanist if im working at SGH.. no time la.. but frankly speaking, i wld rather be accompanist than be at SGH.. zzz..

oo btw.. a HIV positive person came to the lab to have blood drawn a few days back.. a young guy.. and he was VERY shy.. kept looking down and didnt talk at all.. and he's young.. very young.. he's ruined his life.. hmm..

whoosh.. end of 2nd week, start of 3rd week at SGH..

really tired.. routine is like SGH in the day, teaching at nite, eat, sleep.. and the whole cycle repeats itself again..

most interesting event of the week: there was a prisoner patient.. came with 2 policemen as guards.. cool huh..

went to donate blood after SGH yesterday.. almost late for teaching.. waited so long at the bloodbank.. zzz..

anw.. too lazy to talk much.. will be back next sunday..

1st week at SGH almost over.. left half day on saturday..

Monday
had a briefing for 1st half of the day, collected stuff.. 2 long labcoats and 1 jacket, 2 pairs of shoes (1 court and 1 flat) which was optional but i JUST TAKE.. hush puppies lei.. hA.. and my oh-so-COOL name tag.. LOL.. then got introduced to the different labs and people.. after lunch, was given some documents to read.. den had to go for my first booster dose of Hep B injection.. all my immunity shots are FREE-OF-CHARGE ok.. lol..

Tuesday
spent the 1st half of the day at the lab observing the blood-taking (we call it 'bleeding') first.. helped here and there.. then went to the ECG side and learnt how to perform ECG and read the results.. ECG stands for Electrocardiogram btw.. it is for measuring our heartbeat in layman's terms.. lol.. luckily we studied a lil bout this in sch..

Wednesday
1st half of the day oso observing bleeding.. den was trained to hold the needle and use the vacutainer.. it's nt that easy.. den had to learn the different coloured tubes and noe which one to use to collect patient's blood first and how much blood to take and so on.. and i did my very FIRST bleeding.. cos the patient had an extremely good vein.. hA.. was quite gan chiong.. hA.. 2nd half of the day went to do ECG again..

Thursday (today)
same thing.. but addition of microscopy work.. hA.. saw this very rare disease from a patient under the microscope.. my in-charge was so eager to show me when she saw it.. LOL.. the virus was like still ALIVE under the freaking microscope.. moving its 'legs'.. lol..

which brings me to another pt.. people who go to SGH have very serious illnes.. like SERIOUSLY SERIOUS.. hmm.. and it's quite depressing oso.. to see so many 'sick' people.. hmm.. sad huh.. especially those elderly patients.. depressing la.. and im like so paranoid and scared that i myself will catch the illnesses u noe.. cos im nt done with all my injections for my immunity yet..

u noe during primary6 we had a visit to the old folks' home and i caught Tuberculosis Infection from there.. was sent to the Communicable Disease Centre after the skin test for BCG in sch.. and had a 2nd skin test and x-ray at CDC.. so was diagnosed with TB infection.. so didnt have my BCG jab in the end.. so many pple went to the old folks' home but im the only one who caught a disease..

and im like so freaking tired la.. the job is fun and definitely interesting.. but it gets really draining when i hafta rush home every day to teach.. on tuesday i was so drained i didnt noe what the hell i was playing during my own lesson with mstan.. sigh.. i heard we can ask to transfer to Polyclinics.. im thinking of asking to go to a Poly nearer home.. L-O-L.. cos i seriously do not think i can handle this for a long period of time.. hmm..

oh and did i mention.. the 2nd-in-charge of the lab is a dAMN HOT woman.. ok not damn hot la.. but i really admire her.. she looks young.. and is already a Senior Medical Technologist.. and she is like so freaking knowledgeable la.. she gt this really strict face which i find really hot.. hA.. but once u talk to her u noe that she's ok wan la.. hA.. when it's time to be serious she's damn serious.. seriously admire her..

okie.. super long entry.. hope i didnt bore anyone out.. will nt be coming online so often already.. too shagged.. tml's Good Friday.. got extra piano with mstan.. and im so gonna slack the whole day away.. gotta treasure my public hols huh.. only that 'crazy' mstan gotta ask to see me.. on a PUBLIC HOLIDAY.. LOL..
