Two Peas

These two Peas crack me up
Two kids is so much fun, especially when they start playing together. My most favorite thing is listening to them play (and get along). They love each other so much and its so great now that they are alittle older and can be little best friends.

They even wear each other out....

Birthday Boy

This is slightly overdue but better late than never!

Our sweet little K had a birthday. The nice thing for him was watching D have a birthday 10 days before his so he was ready to go when it came time for his. He knew exactly what to expect and he was excited!!

The Birthday Breakfast
Pancakes and Strawberries

He opened something to wear for the day which was his beloved "Eagles Shirt"
He rotates between this shirt and his BYU shirt almost everyday now,
it was a hit!

Then we opened a few presents
like I said, he acted like a pro
and wasted no time getting to business.

You have to get all sides of the paper off

and even stand on top if neccesary

We headed up to the zoo

Rode the Carousel

Me and D on the train

Dad and K on the train

We went over to City Creek for a little bit
and got some treats at Blue Lemon
I love how proper he looks while he is eating his cake bite.

So Proper

When we got home we opened more presents
and just like earlier he got right to business

Opening presents is the best part of birthdays!

He still wears his glasses like this
silly boy

and its nice having a big sister to help you out
and be excited for you.

And the big present was a
Big Boy Bike!!

We wasted no time getting it outside
 and going for a ride

We had some family over and ended the day
 with cake and ice cream

And I think thats the cutest little candle blow ever!

Happy Birthday Sweet K!! You brighten our lives in so many ways and make every day so much fun! Two years have flown by, and you continually remind me that you are not a baby but a "big boy" but you will always be my baby! We love you soooo much!!

Number Five

Our little family is growing
We are excitedly expecting number 5 in the beginning of November!!
It's crazy how fast time flies, but its so great at the same time.  It's so cool to watch your kids grow up and become amazing little people.  D and K are so excited to have a baby in our family, and will be the best little helpers.  We love surprises so we didn't find out the gender of this one and everyone seems to have a different idea.  D wants a sister, and K has said from the beginning that it is a girl, however he also says he is a girl so I interprete that as him saying its a boy:)  I think its a boy and Chris thinks girl. Whatever it is, we are so excited and we love this little baby so much already!

1st Day of School

Today was an exciting day at our house!
D's first day of Preschool.
D was soo excited!!!
, she picked out her outfit, necklace, shoes, hairbow and was ready to go!
I don't even think she really understands what school is,
but we had been talking about it and she was excited and ready to go!

She was practically running as we walked her down the street,
she couldn't wait to get there.
I on the other hand wasn't as excited as she was. I definately want her to go to school, especially becausu I know how much she will love it, I just get sad when I think about how old she is getting and that she will be gone part of the day now.  I know I am a wierd mom, but I love having my kids home with me,  I miss them when they are gone. Preschool is a milestone, which  means change, and sometimes I have a hard time with change, but I'm trying to learn to embrace it.  I know it will be great for D. She loves to live and experience new things.

I managed to hold myself together long enough for her to go in and pretty much lost it walking back up to our house.  K was sad too, and wanted D. I guess that's part of being the little brother.  He kept asking me why I was crying. Ha Ha! I pretty much think I will cry most of watching them grow up!
She loved it and had a great time, and is pretty much ready to conquer the world now!

Geezer Fest

Every year in July we look forward to attending
Geezer Fest
where we get to watch my dad play in his old Rock'N Roll band.
Everyone thinks their dad is the coolest but not many
people can say their dad is in a Rock band.
He started in a band in Junior High and we have grown up
watching him play throughout the years.
Now its fun to take my kids to watch him play.

He plays the bass guitar
K watched him practicing one day and now LOVES the guitar.
He constantly has our guitar hero guitar out, "playing" it.

This Geezer Fest was particularly neat because
they were holding a fundraiser for and dedicating it to my dads best friend,
Dave Dunkley
who has been fighting a brain tumor for the past 7 years.
He is the drum player  in the band.

K had a pretty good time dancing out in front.

We think we have a pretty
                                                                    Rockin Grandpa

Prima Ballerina

We have a little ballerina at our house
. D has been taking this past year and is LOVING it!! She has always loved to dance, and it's been fun to watch her skills improve in her class. She loves her teachers and her friends in her class. This past May they had their annual ballet recital where she preformed in Swan Lake. I was pretty curious to see if she would be shy or love being on stage and she pretty much loved it. She was alittle ham up there, but it was so cute! She did a fantastic job at remembering her dance and she was such a beautiful ballerina.

This is one of D's teachers
Kaelyn
who is a professional dancer and was the
star of Swan Lake. D has really lucked out with some great teachers
who have helped her to love ballet even more!

Introducing...

The kids and myself have wanted to get a pet for quite sometime but Chris on the other hand has been more reluctant. He doesn't like the hassle and mess that comes with pets, which honestly I don't blame him. They are definately more work. Finally D told him, " Dad, if you don't let us get a pet, we're going to get a new dad!!" She is so funny, I don't know where she comes up with this stuff! So finally dad agreed to a pet and we surprised the kids with 2 little kitties.

Introducing.......
Choo Choo

and

Radgile
(pronounced like fragile with an R)
(once again, where does she come up with this stuff??)

Can you guess who named who?
K's is Choo choo
D's is Radgile
Poor Cats
We let the kids name their own and thats what
they came up with.
One thing is for certain, these kitties are WELL loved!! Probably too much love if you ask them.

The kids are learning to be soft and gentle and the kittens are learning to RUN! Actually I think they really love the kids. The kids are out there everyday with the kids, they've been alot of fun so far.  And not too much trouble.  The first day we brought them home we had to get a tick off one (yuck) and one fell down the window well.  But ever since then they have been great! I think they've even grown on chris, which says alot!! So I guess we get to keep chris now....

Two

In May our sweet little guy turned 2 years old!!
Here is a year in pictures of our K-Man

He still has a GREAT figure!
Watch out ladies...

He LOVES balls of any kind. I didn't realize how much
little boys love balls, but I've quickly learned that you can't have too many.

He is truly a happy little guy.
He loves to smile and laugh,
and he has the cutest little giggle/laugh. We love it!!
K loves to swing and play outdoors.
He would play outside all day long if I would let him.

Caught!!
And what is it with little boys and rocks? He seriously loves them
and they never get old.

And if you have a rock...........you'd better throw it!
Love that little tongue.

We love his dark brown eyes from dad
and the honey colored hair from mom. Such a
great combination.

Happy Boy
Always such a happy little spirit.

Sticks!!
Another little boy favorite.

The boy wonder
Nothing is cuter that chubby thighs in tights.

We love these little toesies!!
One of my absoulute favorite features.

 Love this little face!

He is always willing to take pictures with me
unless he is busy playing

This is his Cheese face
I know it looks like he is sad but no in fact he is smiling
just trying to smile and say Cheese at the same time. Luckily for our pictures, he has gotten better at a more natural smile when he says cheese. And seriously, such a cute little tum tum.

Helping set up the christmas tree. It also made for a great tunnel
to climb through over and over again.  He is always so helpful!

Christmas Morning
K got tools which he was and still is in heaven about! I think tools are his favorite thing
in the world. I love how he is holding all of them here, it was like he didn't want to put any of them down. He is constantly looking for things to "fix."  Yesterday he found a nail that had popped up out of our deck and told me he needed his hammer so he could fix it. It's great having a handy man around the house.

Our puppy! We don't have a real one but thats ok because everyonce in
awhile this cute one shows up around our house and it feels like the real thing.
He crawls and around, barks, and like to be pet.  Everyone needs a dog like this at their house.

He had the BEST curly hair!
We love it sooo much! He doesn't love getting it brushed out in the morning
after its nice and tangled, but I can't imagine K any other way.
Alot of people ask where it comes from, Chris has curly hair (when its longer) my hair has some curl, and both grandmas have curly hair, so its definately in the gene pool.

Ever since he was tiny he loves to twist his fingers in his hair
. He used to make dreads out of his hair that was hard to comb out. Now he just twists when he is tired, and here is the evidence. I love a sleeping baby picture.

Mr Sunglasses
This Kid Loves his sunglasses!
He wears them everywear and he doesn't take them off
and if he does take them off, he will not set them down.
Its nice not having to worry about him losing them.

Two peas in a pod. I always worried about having a boy and girl next to each other
if they would be close, silly me.  These two love each other so much!! They are always looking out for each other.  If one is in trouble, the other will come to me and tell me to give them a second chance. It's so neat to watch your kids love each other so much. It really makes everything worth it.

He is such a happy little guy. He is so sweet, and we are so grateful he is in our family. We can't imagine life without him. He has opened my eyes in so many ways, and my heart.  I love my little boy!!

This is a pretty recent discovery for K, his nose
or what is inside of it! I guess its the perfect size for his little fingers to fit.

I just love how little minds think.
When you need a seat, grab the play pots and pans.
The perfect height for playing cards.

We definately have a sports fan on our hands.
We are constantly talking about or play with footballs,
basketballs, baseballs, soccerballs, you name it. His favorite teams are the Eagles and BYU,
and we didn't even have to brain wash him into it.  He loves driving by the football stadium and can't wait until we can go to football games.  He has also started only wanting to wear his "football shirts"
(jerseys) which I am constantly explaining how we can't wear them everyday, we have to wash them sometimes!

And he is an awesome little helper around the house! He loves to sweep, vacumn, and mop which hopefully will stay the same forever! I love my little helper.

Happy Birthday Sweet K!
You brighten all of our  days and melt our hearts.  You bring so much love and happiness to our family in your quiet little way. We love you!!
