Today

You guys are too funny. I knew when I posted my Thursday Challenge photo that I would get some interesting answers:) Actually, this photo was the Hubs idea! Those are Breeder Hobbles for horses. I had to ask him about three times, since I could think of only one thing to use these for, and I won't mention that here...:)

I did find something really cool yesterday. I shared it with a couple of friends, and both were grossed out. But, I don't care. I thought it was cool, and when I get it cleaned off, you will see it too. Wanna know what I found??

An entire spine of an Elk. Yep..side of the road, completely intact, just wild. I made Hubs stop and pick it up and throw it in the back of the truck. So cool. I can't wait to photograph this baby :) It's longer than me! It's massive! Of course, it's not really gross. It's obviously been there since hunting season, and it has already been picked clean. With the snow melting now, it just showed up. So soon, you will see photos....bwahahahaha.

I also hung out a bunch of birdfeeders today. Oh! and I bought a kiddie pool for the geese. Yep, I don't have any water for them with the pond still frozen, so I bought a kiddie pool. They haven't figured it out yet though. The deer seem to think it's just a giant waterbowl.

Critter is healthy again and back to his troublemaking ways.
Otis is doing great too.
All seems to be back to normal.
For now.

Just wait till Hubs leaves....

HA! I can SERIOUSLY hold off on the elk spine pics! But I know you'll gross me out regardless.

So those breeder hobbles... they're basically a .... ummm.... oh hell, I'll tell you away from here. ROFL!

The kiddie pool is gonna be cool once the geese figure it out.

Max is going to love the spine photos! I just know it. I love the pool idea. My sister has one for her ducks and geese. So cute! I would've guessed something extremely sexual on that picture.

I love that the Hubs suggested something for your blog! And nothing much grosses me out. Bring it on.

I have a spine and pelvis of an antelope. At least we think it was an antelope. Found it in a field while collecting red willow branches.

So who gets to wear the hobbles? Male or female? Front or back. Details woman, details!!!

Can't wait to see the spine pics!! I found a skull in our pine grove a couple years back ... I should post it and maybe someone can tell me what it is. I'm guessing a fox or fisher. Not sure.

The hobbles hold the mare's legs together so she can't kick the male while breeding.
I would LOVE to find moose antlers!

Ah, I got to see horses breeding on a TV show called "Dirty Jobs". Ever seen it?

Doesn't seem like it would give her enough stability having her legs so close together. But what the hell does this suburban girl know!! ;0]
