Blah!

So I am actually at home while I am writing this blog tonight, instead of work! Shocker, I know! I don't feel like this is going to be a very upbeat blog though. Today was just one of those days. I feel very blah right now. Just the littlest things today seemed to tip me the wrong way and I don't really know why. I am a little bummed out because my grandma has been in the hosptial for the last week, but will hopefully come home tomorrow. Just a few days before she got admitted to the hospital she got such good news...she found out her cancer is gone, so now she has to just be on a "maintenance" regimen of chemotherapy, so that's great! But then just days later she woke up in the middle of the night unble to breathe, which is why she has been in the hospital. The doctors think it is pneumonia, but may also be her heart, she has atrial fibriallation which makes her heart beat really fast. I just want her to feel better~~!! Second, I have been feeling very blah about work. Don't get me wrong, I love the babies and love my job, but it can be a very stressful job. Also, working nights is definitely starting to wear on me, but Nate and I need the money right now that night shift provides. I guess those are the two things that are making me feel "blah". I am sure it will pass, today was just not a great day. I'm sure the rainy weather did not help things. Thanks for listening to my rantings. Hope everyone else is having a wonderful week. Get that Christmas shopping done!!!

Happy Thanksgiving...a few days late

So, I am getting to be pretty consistent with my blogging happening about every two months!! I really am going to try to be better about that. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Nate and I had two Thanksgiving meals in the course of about 4 hours. First, we did the celebration with the Bayton side and then we went over to my house. I nibbled at both places and was stuffed and in a turkey coma by the time it was time for me to go to work at 7pm. That was a rough 12 hour shift!!! On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Leah, Chris and Julia got to come visit and see our house, so that was nice!
However, I did have some fun a few days before Thanksgiving as well. On that Monday, Tara, Sarah and I all went to see Twilight at the movies. For those who have not heard yet, Twilight is actually a book in a series of 4 books and is the big craze these days. The author is Stephenie Meyer and they are great reads and the movie was AWESOME!!
Again, I am at work, so I need to go. Hope everyone is getting some Christmas shopping done. I put our tree up the day before Thanksgiving and I LOVE IT! The theme is pink, green, and gold and it looks really neat if I do say so myself. Love to all!!
PS: Katie, can't wait to find out if you and Jon are having one or more than one! Congratulations!

Long time, no blog

Sorry that I always go such a long time between my blogs..I really need to do better. Once again I am writing this while I am at work (gosh, you would think I don't do anything but hang out on the computer all night), so if this is a short one, that is why. It's 3:00 am, so my head is a little foggy too! Well, I don't think Nate and I have many updates since the last one. Being that it is September I am back in school. I am going to grad school to get my PNP (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) degree.I only take a couple classes at a time since that is all I can really manage with work, but one of these days I will be done. As for Nate, he is still enjoying his new motorcycle...riding to work on nice days and such. Those things still scare me, but I am okay as long as he makes sure to have his helmet one (which he always does!) .
One thing that I can think of that happened very recently was involving my wedding/engagement ring. For those of you who dont' know, my original engagement ring was different from the one I have now. However, I kept having diamonds pop out of the first one, so about a year ago, I picked out another engagement ring to coordinate with the wedding band I already had. Well, I figured since a year has gone by since I got the new ring that I was in the clear. However, on Sunday morning I took my ring off and put it on the sink while I washed my face. When I went to grab it and put it back on I realized the center diamond was GONE!!! How the heck it happened or when, I do not know. I went to the jeweler and they are sending it out to have the diamond replaced, but now I will be without my ring for 6-8 weeks. BIG BUMMER. I went to Target yesterday and bought a fake "diamond" ring to wear in the meantime. Can't be having people thinking I'm still single!! Well, I guess that's all for now....Nate and I don't really have anything too exciting happening. Oh, if you all would though, my grandma is going through chemotherapy right now.She was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma about two months ago. She turned 91 this past August and my mom thinks she is nutty for going through all this, but my grandma said, "I'm not ready to go yet" She is quite the feisty lady!! Keep her in your prayers please. Love to all!

I'm Back...finally!!

So, I keep getting in trouble for not having posted a blog in such a long time....but, good news, I'm back!!! I am going to try to be a better blogger. As for Nathan, I don't think I will get him to post any blogs, so you will all have to just keep up on our life via me :)
Let's see, I have not blogged since back in May, so a couple things have happened. First, Nate and I celebrated out one year anniversary on June 2! I can't believe how fast the first year went by. We went to Lake of the Ozarks the weekend before our anniversary to celebrate and had a lot of fun....minus the fact that we both got sunburned like lobsters, but that was our own fault.
I guess the next exciting news would be that I started a new job, well not totallly new. I am still working as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, but I just switched hospitals. I now am working at St. Louis Children's Hospital and am excited to be a part of such a world renowned place! Lots of excitement going on there everytime I am at work.
Nate and I have been working hard (well, more like Nate, Scott, and Sue) on our house. We have been trying to get it looking just how we want...so I will have to post some pictures of the house too! FINALLY, one other exciting bit of information is that Nate recently purchased his first motorcycle. It is a 2000 Kawasaki Ninja, blue. He has been wanting a motorcycle for a while and he is just thrilled with it. Now, he just has to learn to ride it. I told him that I will ride on the back with him, just as long as a get to buy a pink helmet!!! Well, guess I have written enough for now...my next blog will not be so far away as this one was. Also, Leah and Katie, I love your layouts, how do I change my background to something like you girls have? I'm not very blog saavy...

Our first blog

Ok, so I am at work and decided that I had some down time so I checked out everyone's blogs! I did not want Nate and I to be the only ones in the family not to join in on the blogging fun, so I decided to write one. This first one is going to be pretty quick, but I'll write a better one later and spruce up our page with some pictures. I think this is a great idea and a great way for everyone to stay in contact! Yay for blogs!!
