One of Matt Redman's best written songs
this is a rather old song
not particularly nice tune
but lyrics spoke so much of what's needed of our generation
Mission's flame
Verse 1
Let worship be the fuel for mission's flame
We're going with a passion for Your name
We're going for we care about Your praise
Send us out
Verse 2
Let worship be the heart of mission's aim
To see the nations recognize Your fame
'Til every tribe and tongue voices Your praise
Send us out
Chorus
You should be the praise of every tongue, Jesus
You should be the joy of every heart
But until the fullness of Your kingdom comes
Until the final revelation dawns
Send us out
Bridge
Every tribe, every tongue
Every creature in the heavens and the earth
Every heart, every soul
Will sing Your praise, will sing Your praise
Every note, every strain
Every melody will be for You alone
Every harmony that flows from every tongue
We'll sing Your praise, we'll sing Your praise
We'll sing Your praise, we'll sing Your praise

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

You know
the gripping feeling of loneliness
times where you ask, "What in the world am I doing?"
Most of the time it seems worthless
Questioning God yet knowing the promises and the answers
it's easy to point the finger
but I guess I am learning to point the finger at myself
what is faith?
where's my faith?
remember my NS days
when your buddy taps you on your shoulders to "go"
you don't hesitate
no questions asked
a second of hesitation may result in the bullet piercing your skull or your buddy's
you entrust your life in your buddy or your platoon commander's hands
God gives the command
No questions asked
just do it
