Last Day

Image
Yesterday was my last day of teaching preschool for the school year. It was a good time to end with baby coming soon. I was quite sad when it was over. When the last kid left I thought, "What now?" What a wonderful experience this was. Thanks for the good times kiddos. So, who is going to entertain my kids twice a week now. Sounds like I need to put a summer play/craft day together.

Easter Bunny Poll

I put a poll just to the right of this post. My father-in-law and I were discussing whether you should have the Easter bunny come on Saturday or Sunday. Growing up, the Easter bunny always came to my house on Sunday. He thinks everyone has him come on Saturday. PLEASE VOTE so I can see if I have a valid argument or not. Also, feel free to comment with your traditions. (I told my mother-in-law I was going to do this...)

Easter Weekend

It's been a fun week with Grandpa and Grandma Nordfelt here. Thanks to Kirtly, I got a lot of sleep and I rested well knowing my kids weren't coloring on the backporch with crayons. Friday night we went to Mill street in Tempe and ate at a Greek restaurant-a first for me. It was good. Then we headed to the Mesa AZ Easter pagent. It was wonderful. I must admit I enjoyed it a lot better when I left my family, the hard metal chair, and plopped my big belly down in a small space between two families that were laying on the grass. They looked at me pretty weird, but I was dying to get my feet up. Saturday morning the Easter Bunny came, we colored eggs, and went to the Buckeye park to enjoy their festivities. We were sad to see Grandma and Grandpa leave. We didn't quite know what to do with ourselves because they our entertainment for the week. Thanks for being such awesome in-laws! --A disclaimer-- I promise I do my daughter's hair. It's a fight everyday, however. L

Happy Birthday Neileo!

My dad is the coolest! It's his birthday today. I won't mention how OLD he is because it doesn't really matter. He still works and plays like he's a youngster. I wanted to post this picture of the two of us for a couple of reasons. 1. It's one of my favorite memories of being with my dad. 2. It was taken exactly eight years ago at Easter time. So I thought it was appropriate. He came down to Cedar City to spend Easter with me. We celebrated by going to Zion National Park on Friday and then Bryce Canyon on Saturday. It was awesome. Thanks for the great time! Miss you dad and hope you have a great time eating your icecream cookie sandwiches tonight!

Great News

Dr. Mystie came and told me that I could go home and that I am only on Modified bedrest . I can still go get groceries, do the laundry and walk around. Just no running or pulling the kids in the bike trailer. :) What a blessing!! I do need to put my feet up though and not get too excited. After three weeks I can do whatever I want. She said new research shows laying in bed does not stop a baby from coming if it is coming. She thinks he'll be here by the first of April, and he would be healthy, but who knows. Here's to the next few weeks!

Destination: Hospital

I dropped the kids off at a friends and headed to my OB appointment on Tuesday and was excited because afterward I was going to swing by the Old Navy right by the office, without kids. Well, when I got there I had no idea what was coming. This is what I heard, "Well, the bad news is your dialated to a two... blah, blah, blah...hospital for at least 48 hours...blah, blah." When she was done talking doctorly I looked at her and replied, "So, I have no idea what you just said. I heard that I was dialated and that you want me to go to the hospital right now." She was very nice and just let me know in easier terms what was going on. Needless to say I am here at the hospital, the baby wants to come, and it hasn't been without it's adventures. Here are some: There is no shame here at the hospital when you are a woman heavy with child. The man who was pushing me in the wheelchair finding out that I was from UT and asking me if it is true that you cannot buy

THE BIG 28!

Look how cute and YOUNG we looked six years ago today! What the heck happened?! (If you look really close you can see Kyes' side burns.) Kye has a really hard time holding back excitement. Can you tell? This was the first birthday of his we were together. This was also right before he dumped me, before he asked me to marry him. That's another post... Anywho, time really does fly. What a privilege I have to grow old with this man! Happy Birthday Honey!

No UP. I'm sleeping in today.

So I have been thinking lately about my sleeping habits. I sleep in. I take a nap. I try to go to bed at a decent hour, but sometimes I can't. However, it is not because I've napped. I've tried not taking a nap, then I turn into Mean Mama, and I still can't go to sleep at night. Then today, I was reading "Great Day for Up" by Dr. Seuss to the preschool kids. Should I feel bad for sleeping in? Should I feel bad that I pop in a movie for the kids so I can nap? Should I feel bad that I don't want to be UP sometimes? Am I justified? Is this OK? Will I get to sleep when baby #3 comes? Thinking about all this makes me tired...

Happy Birthday PA!

We made a little video of the kids for Grandpa Kirtly. They really wanted to sing "Book of Mormon Stories". So take is as their way of singing "Happy Birthday". Hope your day was great!
