Long time no talk......

I'm back. Why am I back you ask? Life has drastically changed since I last wrote. All two of you who read this blog probably know that we moved back to Minnesota at the end of September. Everything fell into place when J was offered a new job (his dream job...only in MN instead of FL), we were approved for a mortgage, flew up to MN, found a house in one day, and closed a month later. The rest is history. The house we purchased never got the memo that the 80's are over. It's bad. So bad. We got a great deal on the house, in a good neighborhood though, so we can live with it for now. The blog is back because we plan to slowly redo every.single.detail. It will take time, and we aren't doing anything unless we can pay for it in cash, so bare with me!

We painted the bedroom this past weekend and I'll get some photos up really soon so you can see the difference!

Project 365 - Day 88

No, you aren't going crazy. Yes, I skipped several days. I was going to play catch up today but J brought my camera with him out of town. He'll be back tonight so I can catch up tomorrow. I figured for now, I can fill in what I have. My friend Tel makes these awesome cupcakes. Aren't they adorable. Not only do they look good, but they taste amazing too. She gave us a bunch to sample. I love being her taste tester. ahem...cough cough...more please. ;)

You know what else I love? Muscle relaxers. I'm on one right now....so hopefully this will make sense tomorrow. I'm only 32 but I have the bones/joints of a 90 year old.

Behind...

I'm behind. Behind on Project 365, behind on my reading, behind on life.

J's work was going through layoffs again. The same kind that landed us here in FL at this time last year. His job is safe! Unfortunately, the other guy in our state was let go and now J covers the whole state for his job. Layoffs are never easy. We have known they were coming since the end of last year. We've been stressed about it for months. Finally, it's over. So now we can get back to life and stop stressing.

I desperately need to catch up on everything. I was supposed to read 2 books in March and I couldn't even get through one. I will read 2 books by Sunday.....and then 2 more by the end of April.

Time to spring clean and get organized. Since we are staying here, we plan to make this house awesome so we love it here. We also have a few trips up our sleeve.....TBA.

I don't think I even have any pictures to post for the days I missed. I've been running and taking pictures of that every time to see how I change over time...so maybe I'll be brave and post those? Maybe....

Project 365 - Day 80

Our drive back from Georgia. Sunshine state my ass.

Project 365 - Day 79

This is a terrible picture...I apologize. We had Tapas at a jazz bar on Saturday night and the food was so good. So good I forgot to take a picture until halfway through...and with my cell phone. If you ever get to Savannah, check out Jazz'd.

Project 365 - Day 78

Don't be a hater....we ate at Paula Deen's restaurant in Savannah on our weekend trip there. It was basically the whole reason I wanted to go there. I absolutely LOVED it in Savannah. The Lady and Sons had really good food. I think if you are a tourist, you will like it a lot more than those that live there. It was super yummy!!

Project 365 - Day 77

The most adorable ornament I got from my friend Jen. It's so cute that I have it on display in my kitchen.

Project 365 - Day 76

Some more strawberry fun. Desserts no longer consist of this stuff. Le sigh.

Project 365 - Day 75

My awesome espresso cups I got from World Market for under $10. I pink puffy heart them.

Project 365 - Day 74

Squinty kitty is very annoyed with you.

Project 365 - Day 73

I made Strawberry Shortcake from scratch today with our goods from the Festival yesterday. I turned these: (The one on the left is a bit larger than a normal strawberry. I put it next to the other so you can see how big the Strawberries are that we got at the festival)

Into this:

Project 365 - Day 72

We headed out to the Strawberry Festival on Saturday. It was so nice (a bit windy) and the sun was shining. We had a great time stuffing our faces. I even had a deep fried Twinkie. Yum!! This was the only crappy picture I got before my camera batter died. Picture FAIL.

Project 365 - Day 71

If you never get a Cooking Light again, I still highly suggest you buy this one!! I was flipping through it, oooo-ing and ahhhhing to J about all the great recipes I can't wait to try!

Project 365 - Day 70

Books read this year so far...4. I have 21 books to go, including this one. I started it the other day and I'm having a hard time getting into this one because it's written from a different perspective. Hopefully it catches on so I can finish. (It's called Fourth Comings..since I cut the damn title off).

Project 365 - Day 69

Pretty sky when I was driving to a meeting. You can see downtown off to the right in the distance.

Project 365 - Day 68

Today I baked banana bread. So good! I got it from a recipe posted on Elizabeth Anne Designs. Very tasty.

Project 365 - Day 67

I did it. I ate beef. For the second time in about 4 years. Now that I love to cook, I realize I'm missing out on a ton of stuff because I don't eat pork or beef. I can't give in on the pork, but once a month or so, I will eat beef so I can try out a new dish. Last night I made Maple and Soy glazed Flank Steak. So yum. Thanks again Cooking Light! It was great with a nice glass of wine!
