Keeping Busy

We have been trying all kinds of things to keep busy. We have tried some science experiments, gone on lots of walks, played many of our games, played at the school playground (while it was open, they are all closed now),  played with Shaun and Young Sook's kittens, learned some new things, done some home improvement projects and organization.

Tanner learning how many calories are in fast food.

 Making Elephant Toothpaste.
Made a place for all of our balls.

Service project

There is a shortage of personal protective equipment at the hospitals with the Corona virus going around, so we made some reusable ones to donate to the hospital.

We also wanted to brighten Paula's birthday since she couldn't do anything fun, so we heart attacked her.

Ashlyn projects

For St Patrick's day Ashlyn wanted to make a leprechaun trap.

She found out she needs glasses, so she has been trying on everyone's glasses. She and I apparently have very similar prescriptions.

Ashlyn and her BFF Evelyn became pen pals when everyone was quarantined. The FaceTime sometimes too to keep in touch.

Cousins

Mickie came down with the kids and these 3 love to see each other.

Amber and Whitney both lost teeth on the same day.

Tucker and Crew with the girls.

 Games with Bryn

Cooking with the kids

We've been doing a lot of cooking since the kids are home all the time. I prefer teaching life skills over academics, so for now they are learning how to cook, sew, do art, organize the house, and get along with each other.
Home made mint Oreos.

 Kale chips.
 Mickie pancakes and creative cookies.

We've also made Hawaiian haystacks, fried rice, waffles, smoothies, home made corn dogs and pretzels.

Art with Kris

Kris quit her job to start a surgical tech program, but then her program got postponed until fall because of COVID-19, so she had some extra time on her hands. She came and taught some art lessons to the kids, who also have a lot of extra time on their hands.

Kitties, twin day, games and more

We got on a monopoly kick last week and played about 6 times over the weekend. My mom is constantly bringing us new games. This was one of them and it has been getting good use.
Shaun and Young Sook's cat had babies and the girls can't get enough of them. They are so sweet when they are little like this. I almost wanted one. Almost. Dallin and Tanner are a little allergic though, so I guess not.

It was twin day at school so Amber, Whitney and their friend Lillian all dressed the same.

Ashlyn has had a wiggly tooth for months, and Ashlyn finally let Margie pull it out. It was kind of gross. A chunk of gum came out with it and it left quite the crater.

Some goofiness. I think Shaun is the favorite uncle.

Family dinner often turns into game night.
