18mm Old Glory: WAS Austrians: IR Lothringen

 

Both battalions finished. I could do a third battalion, as that was quite common in this period, but I prefer to stick to two battalion regiments.

This is a new project. I wanted to do the WAS, in preference to the SYW, because Austria deployed it's infantry in 4 ranks and the flags of Charles VI were so much more interesting, colourful and varied to those from the later war. Plus I really like OG's figures and indeed I actually prefer them to Blue Moon's. For cavalry nobody beats Eureka. I have also done 5 battalions of Prussians using Blue Moon but I might sell them and re-work them with OG figures.

Most of the flags I will be using come from Dave Morfitt's lovely website Not by Appointment.

28mmSYW French: Caraman Dragoons, last cavalry regiment

 

The last cavalry unit for my French army which now has 26 squadrons of cavalry. There are also 18 battalions of infantry but I think I will increase this to 24.

28mm SYW Hessians: IR7 Leibregiment 2nd BTN 1763

 

This is the last of the Hessian battalions for my army. The figures are from a Ukrainian designer/manufacturer Vladimir Zhiko which I bought quite a while ago. The flags are from Frederick Aubert.
