April 20, 2009 was Grandparent's Day in Graham's 1st grade class. We went into the gym at the school and sat down where all the other grandma's and grandpa's were seated. Each 1st grade class came in and filed onto the stairs leading up to the stage. All the 1st graders sang songs for us. We were sitting on the opposite side of the gym from where Graham was standing. I got this picture before they started singing. When they were singing, Graham would "hide" behind the boy standing next to him so we couldn't see him. He would peek around the boy and smile at us. After the children sang, we went into Graham's classroom where some of the grandparent's talked about what it was like when they were 1st graders. We can't remember that far back so we didn't say anything.

Easter Fun
I know this is a week late, but better later than never, right?
We've been having fun with all the usual Easter activities this year. We hope that you all had a great Easter as well. We missed everyone.
This was the best I could do for a family photo.
I just thought this picture was funny. We were getting ice cream at Dairy Queen.

Fun Times with Jaden
We have so many pictures to post since we haven't posted in such a long time. Sorry if this is too long. There are Valentine cookies being decorated all the way to Easter Egg Hunts. Bear with us.
Texans have funny traditions as you all know. One of them is taking pictures in the state flower, the Bluebonnett. Many families traumitize their children by putting them through this as we did with Jaden and as I did growing up. They randomly grow along highways and wherever. They actually turned out pretty cute though.
At a local ice cream shop, everyone takes pictures by the cows. Weird, I know, but it's fun.

Weekend fun!
Well, it's been a long time since we've posted, so I thought I would catch up for the last couple of weekends. Jordan has been taking the kids fishing, we've done a trail ride, and a beautiful hike. It's been great living by all these canyons and enjoying the beautiful spring, if it would stop snaowing every other day.
These first few are from our hike in Diamond Fork Canyon yesterday. We tried to make it to the hot springs, but it took too long and the kids were getting hungry. We'll try again in a few weeks.
Emery always has to strike a pose.
Graham looks so excited for this.
Livi loves to go on hikes. She didn't whine once. She's the only one.

Weekend Trip in Houston
A few weekends ago, we drove to Houston to visit my brother's family. We had a great time. Giff and Brian rented some kayaks and went fishing in the bay of Galveston. They had a great time even though it was a little windy. Giff was the only one who caught a fish out of the six boys that went. He was pretty proud. While the boys went fishing Jackie and I went shopping at a flea market and then went to the Galleria mall. Shopping at the flea market was so fun and really hilarious. Our New York experience helped us prepare to barter and we ended up getting knock off Tiffany's rings and a Chanel purse for really cheap. I also got Giff a Louis Vouton wallet which he was very excited about, if you know Giff at all. :) We all had some yummy BBQ there and on Sunday we drove over to the Houston temple Giff and I were married in. All in all, we had a great weekend and can't wait to do it again. Here are a few pics from the fishing trip. These are the few houses that made it through the hurricane a few months ago in this area.
Giff used his resources and constructed his homeade anchor. He found some random left over stuff from the houses that were collapsed.

Brian and Giff just before they jumped in their kayaks. In this spot, the little building behind the boys was the only thing that made it (in that particular area) and it actually was still functioning as a little restaurant. Crazy!

Open For Business!
Early Spring?
When Jordan's parents came to see us this weekend, we decided that we needed to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we had this weekend. We took a walk along the trail that goes up into Hobble Creek Canyon. It was great to get out!
