fun weekend

This past weekend we had a blast with Giff , Jordan, and their families! On friday while I was selling at the rexburg farmers market Kendall played with Jayden, Livi, Emery, and Graham. Later we had yummy fongs and just hung out.

On Saturday we headed down to the Zoo, it was the best day. The weather was perfect, and all the animals were out.

After the Zoo we took them on a little train ride. They loved it!

We ended the evening by eating at Craigos. It was such a fun weekend! We just with Ty, Jenn, and Luke could have been here too!

Weekend Trip

This past weekend we went with my parents to see Brian and Jackie in Houston. We had a pretty great time. We went on this Safari and we fed the animals from our safari car. I was totally freaked out, and it didn't take long for Jaden to be either. Eventually, we warmed up to the animals...well kind of. If you can't tell, Jaden is the face with the hat and shades on all the way to the left of the picture with the faces. At the safari place they had free pony rides for the kids, so Jaden had his first pony ride. After the pony rides, we hung out at the beach for a little while to cool off. This was Jaden's very first time at the beach and he absolutely loved it. He started out fully dressed...then we took his shirt off...and then the shorts went. He was happy to be in his diaper on the beach. He was so upset when we left the ocean and balled all the way back to the car.

We went to the Innerspace Caverns near our house on Thursday. Jaden enjoyed this except when we took this cart under ground, he got scared. Slowly he warmed up to being in the caves 50-60 ft underground.

Gifford found this shirt of himself and decided to put it on Jaden. You can decide if they look alike. It was pretty funny because Jaden was all about it.

Austin Children's Museum

Giff and I took Jaden and my nephew Ty to the Austin Children's Museum this past week and it was a blast. They made slime and played with various science exhibits. Everything in the museum is hands on and they absolutely loved it. There was a construction zone and they especially loved building towers and knocking them over. This area had the hard hats and vests they put on too. It made for some pretty cute pictures.

Kitchen Project

Even though we loved our house when we bought it, we felt that the kitchen needed a little help. This is the before picture of our kitchen.

This is when the project really gets started. First of all the counters need to come off. Soon after the counters came off the backsplash and sink came out and a little task became a major project. The demolition took one night for the countertops and about a week for the backsplash. We had the countertops installed but I had to tile the backsplash and install the sink myself. Someone once told me that tiling a backsplash was a simple task, YEAH RIGHT! One thing lead to another, the tile didn't come off without taking drywall and the sink didn't get reinstalled without a little plumbing work. All in all it was worth the life experience and we are very happy.

Not so shabby after all eh!

Thanks to Obama we also have a nice new table and server to fill our dining area!
