This chapter (blog) is ending.

No more happy girl in happy valley.

She's still here but with a husband.

I hope you take the time and follow us there instead of here.

THE END.

We Are Young

So basically if you are not on my instagram then you never know what's going on in my life. And since that isn't really my journal, I decided to post some current events that have gone on.
(okay I wouldn't call them events...)

Conference weekend was split up between fams.
Saturday sessions were at my household. Shaun made us his famous homemade ice cream which I hate blueberry but it actually was preeeeety tasty!

Then onto the Johnson's for Sunday.
We're obsessed with this marble game but it only is four players so we combined them and made one huge board. It was pretty much the accomplishment of the century.

Temple dates are fun!
Love living so close.

I have been spending lots of time with Becky honey. I have been doing my volunteer hours in her classroom so it's a blast.

Miss my best friend usually every-other-day,

but it's great when we have get-togethers!

Outdoor concerts are fun.
Summmma is comin' back!

This view will never get old.
So glad my husband gets to do one of the things that he loves on the weekends.

Easter was a joke. Okay no I really loved it but it was funny because I wanted to have Shaun and I make easter baskets for each other but he said nah because "we don't have kids yet." Haha I decided I would anyway. But once I went to the store I thought if I were him I would feel so stupid that I got him something and he ended up with nothing so I just decided to forget it.

Too bad I have the best husband in the world that surprised me and got me something and he got...nothing! Ok the easter bunny actually came a few days later but it still came!

Easter dinner was spent with Dad and Kristine because the rest of the fam was out of town. Easter stroll was the highlight!

For a regular on the UVU shuttle bus around campus--this is such a pretty sight! Love that old man. We've had great 3.5 years.

Lunch and canyon scooter ride with this animal

SLC trip to see the new mall was super fun but a quick trip. And good thing because Jord was contemplating not having girls when he's older because of how long they take at stores...

Our St. George trip got cancelled due to Weather so instead we saved money and stayed home. Our thought process was "..we saved money staying home PLUS Shaun had a company party that he performed at so we might as well go to Tucano's..." We called up the married besties Michelle and Creighton and had a great night. My new game that I learned was Ticket to Ride. I LOVE IT!

I love when my sister shows up at my doorstep on Saturdays!

You always need to record your in-n-out outings.

Sundays at the Johnson's sometimes get awkward when they have no-arm wrestling..

Visiting Ashley on her last day was great and it was extra great that she is now out of there!

We tried our kitchenAid and it was a HUGE success...

And I love my major.

4.19.2012

Sometimes I feel like my major can get a little cheesy but I love it.
With the Behavioral Science core level of classes I had the opportunity to take a marriage & relationship therapy class. The books that we had to read for this class were so great and I would recommend them to every single one of my 'single' friends, especially

"How to Avoid Falling in Love With a Jerk"
 By: John Van Epp

As I was doing my final readings for the semester I was going through the chapters that we read at the beginning of the year and some of my favorite gems that I highlighted throughout the way.

I was reminded of this amazing quote that says:

"Not until love requires sacrifice
does it earn the right to be called love."

I think this is true with every single relationship that we have and cherish.
But for me and my current situation. . .

I'll take it to heart for my marriage.
I love having a man that makes all my sacrifices worth it.*

*Gee, I hated people like me that would throw cheesy-love-curve balls.
I'll embrace it now. . .

WON YTILAUXES

Remember when macbook photo booth was the coolest thing?
I remember years ago even on Facebook if they're profile picture was from a photo booth it was the greatest and you were instantly jealous.

weird.

Remember when my human sexuality class killed me?
You might think it was the info in the book that actually killed me. {because it did kill many.}
don't worry. it wasn't that.
just the final.
The book says "Sexuality Now" by the way. {in case you have dyslexia}

three cheers for asian/african american love eh?

arrested for doing laundry?

I was a little hesitant of recording this little adventure because I want to remember this but not at the same time. . .

It was a normal Friday morning. Shaun got up for work and I can't sleep really once he's gone so I got up as well. I was going to finish doing the rest of the laundry that I didn't get to do the day before. Jeanie (my landlady) had told me the day before if I didn't finish that night that I could come up and do it the next morning. I walked upstairs and put a basket of clothes in the dryer. I then noticed that the alarms were going off. I call Jeanie a couple of times because I had forgotten the code but she didn't answer.

Fifteen minutes later the alarms were still going and I was back downstairs on the phone with Shaun. I then heard loud voices upstairs and people walking around. Shaun said to go around back and check who's car it is because it might just be the alarm company coming to turn it off. Halfway to walking around to the front of the house I am hearing the alarms raging out of the house. I told Shaun it had to be the neighbors that were upstairs because I can hear the alarms reaching all around the neighborhood. We live in a great nice neighborhood so that had to be it.

I go back in through the basement door and take a walk up the stairs, still on the phone with Shaun. I open the door and say "helllooo!" The next thing that happened was so fast and I still don't believe it. I hear two men's voices yelling at the top of their lungs:

"GET ON THE FLOOR & MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN!"
"HANG UP THE PHONE"

I turn around and there are two police officers with guns pointed at me screaming. I dropped to my knees and hang up the phone. As my phone is ringing off the hook (Shaun doesn't know it's the police so he's having his own fit) I am mustering out the words:

"Mmm..name is Nicole..I live in the basement.."

"If you live downstairs than why don't you know the codes?
Who lives upstairs?
What's your last name?..." etc etc

I couldn't answer anything. At this point I'm bawling my eyes out on my knees still at gun point. The cops come closer and help me up and guide me downstairs to get my license so they can "check me out." I think they finally realize that I am telling the truth and that I am not in-fact the burglar because I am hysterical. They notified me that the alarm company tried to call Jeanie but she didn't answer so then they send the cops over. My garage door was wide open and so it all looked like a legit break-in. They reassured me that they don't just walk right in but it was because somebody had left the garage door open.

They each gave me a hug and then made a joke not to wear a hoodie next time because I actually do look like a criminal. (I hate police). After a few long hours of emptying my tear ducts, I was able to laugh about it. (sort of)

The icing on the cake was locking my keys in the car at the gas station TWICE. The cop as he was leaving the scene of that situation said  "We'll see you in the evening! You'll be best friends with the police station by tomorrow."

The silver lining of this event is scaring me out of the house each morning to school on time!

Two lessons:
- I have the code memorized backwards and forwards.
- I will only do my laundry on laundry day.

instagrammed weekend. clearly the highlight was food...we're not getting fat.

It was a pretty eventful weekend.
And let me tell you about it.

SJ did a Thrillionaires show which meant that I got to spend time
with the love(s) of my life!
side note: first time @ Yogurtland. divine.
one more side note: we went to yogurt after Shaun's show with
Will & Jill---I didn't confess to Shaun until after. . .

Miss Katelyn Stone, my dearest former roommate had a bridal shower Saturday. It started out bumpy..it always does when you put the wrong address on the invitation. But it ended a success!

Shaun kindly gave-in to me and took us to the color festival. He thinks it's a one time thing. I probably get that thought when I'm on my way home from it but by the time it comes around again: I'M READY FOR IT! It was fun to go with the sibs for their first time. It's still being debated as to whether they had fun or not though. . .

For those of you who missed the end of my reception, shame on you. Husband and his fam is in a band.
And they are amazing too. They perform places around town but usually in the Summer. They modeled for GQ the other day. . .

Our beautiful friend Ryan Ogden did a fundraiser for his Philippines Improvement Group and Panda Express helped him out by donating 20% each purchase to their charity. Since we love Ryan & my Chandler Welling is serving there we definitely made the drive down for that chinese sweet action. It was such a success.

Last but certainly not least, we made BreAKFAST for DiNNER last night.
Major success. Just disregard Shaun's face.
Side note: we immediately went grocery shopping after this. so we can have regular food for dinner.
