Trip with Dad to Homer!

We love going to work with Dad. Nate had to go to Homer, AK so we decided to take a drive with him. It took about 5 hours to get there. The drive was gorgeous. We got there in the evening and went to check out the town and find out the good fishing spots. Braxton has been dying to go with Nate. So we went to check out "The Spit" it is a small piece of land that juts out in to the inlet were huge fishing boats and fairies come and dock. The view is beautiful.
The boys had a ball in there new rain boots. They thought staying in the hotel was a blast too.
They boys had a good time fishing even though we didn't catch anything.

I think Luke and I got a little to close. I didn't realize you can't even get close to Bald Eagles.         We were up on a huge sand bank and right there in front of us was this beautiful Eagle.

On the way home we stopped at a really cute bakery in Soldotna. They had all kinds of cookies including a flat cinnimon roll. It looked like a steam roller had gone over it. But of course Braxton went for the only fish he will eat (a cookie). Luke went with the yellow smiley face because he loves yellow and can't loves to get the smiley face sticker from Wal-Mart every time we go.

Can you say Fish!

Nate was able to go on his first Halibut Charter. He and his buddy Dave from work caught their limit. We now have a freezer full of Halibut and I have no idea how to prepare or cook it. Anybody with good fish recipe's please send them my way.

Welcome to Alaska Grandma and Jackie

div>

We were so excited to have our first visitors! It was so fun to have Grandma Bowen and Aunt Jackie come up. The first day we planned to go into Anchorage and show them the town. Our plans were put on hold for a couple of hours. A man from Italy (who doesn't speak english) decided to back up at a red light and backed right into me and Anne. Jackie kindly watched the boys at the mall while everything was sorted out. Then we decided to go to dinner and take it easy. Sunday was relaxing church and a small hike in the Nature Museum. Monday was exciting we went on a train ride to Seward. We got up at 5:30 to be at the train by 6:45 a.m. We had breakfast on the train and got to see some beautiful scenery. Seward was beautiful we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant day. The ride home was fun we had a great time playing Canasta. Tuesday we attempted downtown anchorage with a much better experience. We had lunch and visited the tourist traps and saw the beautiful flowers. Wed was my favorite day Jackie and Anne to me to Michaels craft store and we found some decorations for my house. They helped me put up pictures and decorate my house which now is feeling more like home since we have a great wall of picutres with our family in them. Thanks for coming! We miss you all:)
