American Crafts Valentine's Day Blog Hop!

Welcome to the American Crafts Valentine's Day Blog Hop! You are at Katie Ehmann's blog and you should have arrived here from Meghann Andrew's blog. For my Valentine themed love layout, I used Crate Paper's Love Notes collection. I punched a bunch of hearts from the 6x6 paper pad, arranged them in a large heart shape and machine stitched them to my page. Then I used lots of little embellishments to create a collage inside the heart, added my photo and a little caption. The photo was taken on our honeymoon almost ten years ago in Paris!

Elle's Studio and Gossamer Blue Blog Hop!!

Hey Everyone! This month's Gossamer Blue kits are loaded with adorable goodies from Elle's Studio! I love the colors and patterns on the patterned paper, and decided to hand cut my title after being inspired by an amazing layout by Becky Novacek. I chose a few papers, grabbed my scissors and went to work! I didn't draw the letters before cutting because I wanted them to have an imperfect, hand cut look. With such a big title, I decided to use a simple heart photo that I took last 4th of July while playing around with sparklers, and I embellished with tags and die cuts from Elle's collection and even added some stamps (which is big for me!). Finally, I cut and stitched the white card stock to another brightly colored piece of patterned paper to create a frame for my layout. I love how it turned out!

"Scrap" Booking with Scraps

So my desk is usually a big huge mess of paper scraps, punches, embellishments and a big mass of Thickers. As long as I can use my paper trimmer, I really don't mind just piling current supplies on the old and creating a layout right on top of the mess. But every once in awhile I can't stand it anymore and I decide to clean my desk. So what should I do with all those left over scraps of patterned paper?? Well, scrapbook with them, of course! Here are a couple of layouts I created entirely with scraps of paper that had been littering my desk for the past few months, including the little branding strips that adorn almost every 12x12 paper.




Fun, right? I love the pieced-together look and guess what?? My desk is clean! For now, anyway!
