Wyatt LOVES the pinewood derby. This is his second year and I love how he decides so easily and quickly how he wants his car. So far it has been very simple designs.
He specifically wanted a spoiler. We try hard to make a fast car. We read up on the tricks, we file the nails, we pre-drill the axles, we try so hard to make everything so straight. We always lose. This year I told him if he loses three times he gets a blizzard. Sure enough, he lost his first 3 races and was out of the competition. He was such a champ and had such a good attitude. Maybe it was the blizzard and maybe it was the fact he was a year older.
