So even at 27, there are still dreams and aspirations that have yet to be fulfilled. I pray that I will embrace these changes with good faith, with perserverance and to run the race that He has set out for me. This layout marks yet another year and the resolutions I have for myself. 2013 will be a good year and i know it!

Thankful Log #2
So lets continue on, with part 2 of this series. The first one can be found at this link. Today, I am thankful for the gift of life. I am thankful that I am healthy, blessed with a decent job and people who care about me. I am thankful, even for those things that I do not have, or prayers that are not answered..simply because I am following the path that God has given me.

LPS Sketch Challenge #2 and CSI #60
Life.Paper.Scrapbook's Sketch Challenge #2 is officially open. Be sure to join us and This month Give A Girl... is giving one lucky person a stamp set of
their choice. Give A Girl... is an Australia online store that sells
fabulous clear stamp sets designed by the talented Kellie Winnell AND if
your blog needs a freshen up with some beautiful graphics she does that
too! (find out more about that here)
;
Here are the details:
- You can submit ANY kind of project - cards, layouts or anything you can use the sketch for
- You can use the sketch and colour challenge together just make sure
you link it up to each so you have a chance to win in both.
- Sketch challenge #2 runs until 11.59pm 15 March. (Don't forget we are in Australia)
- The winner of the prize will be randomly drawn
- We will also feature three of the
favourite layouts and the selected layouts will be asked to guest design
for the next sketch challenge.
***AND there is a chance we may select your project for our March issue.
Here is the sketch and my layout:
I was inspired to interpret this sketch by creating a row of
banners to complement my photo. So how
did I go about making my own banners?
Step 1: Cut down varying sizes of patterned papers. This
gives the layout a more textured effect.
Step 2: Notch the sides and cut banners.
Step 3: Punch two holes on either side of the banner. Put a
string across all banners and secure it with brads.
Step 4: Find little embellishments that can be placed on top
of your banners.
CSI #60 is officially open. Cant believe we are at our last Feb Challenge for the month. Be sure to check the details here.
I took a different approach for this layout. Not very sure how I feel about it but i am glad I tried it. I wanted to make the centre heart piece to be the focal point. So buttons and associated brads were chosen to match the layout. The part which I am not liking its the area below the heart. It didnt turn out the way I want but its always a learning point to do better.
So that's it. Its a wrap for Saturday.
I will be back soon to share more stuff.

Mid Week
It is finally Wednesday. Time passes really fast when you are busy at work. Sometimes I just drop dead when I reach home. I feel tired to do nothing and will laze around. So today, I got back early and was browsing at some of my photos. I realised that there were a few layouts that I had yet to share on the blog.
The first layout was done when OA came out with their Halloween line in 2012. I fell in love with the collection even though we dont celebrate Halloween in Singapore. I tried to buy papers and embellishments that I knew I could still work with. So henceforth, a non-Halloween layout. I added a nice vellum flower which I totally adore. I should make more of them soon. (:
Next up, another 8.5x11 layout using the Amy Tan's Ready Set Go Collection. I totally love the title of this layout - Love lives here. A simple layout focusing on the photos and the embellishments sum up the title. (:
And by the way, another layout using the Amy Tan products was featured here. Yes! It is noneother than Amy Tan herself. I screamed at my phone when my sister msged me. Thank you x10000000000.
Okay that's a wrap.
I will be back soon with the next LPS and CSI challenges.

Packing and Organising
So this weekend has been all about packing and reorganising my scrap room. My table was sinking from the amount of containers that were stack on it and I knew that if i wanted this table to last, I had to shift my storage spaces. On top of that, I went to my LSS and spent a bomb on the two new Crate Collections. I cant feeling guility everytime I spend so it was time to downsize somemore. I relooked at my thickers, ribbons and papers and told myself that it was time to throw whatever that I didnt want. I ended up giving two bags of stuff to my helper who would be shipping them to her 15 year old niece.
I also bought new storage box to store all my buttons, washis and adhesives, from Cat Socrates. I highly recommend this place if you are in Singapore. Beautiful vintage store with all those knicks and knacks. They sell storage facilities that are so vintage-y and made up of authentic wood. I cant wait to go back and get more. My table looks so much cleaner and organised. I feel that I finally have the freedom to scrap with all this added space. (:
One layout to share with you before I go take an afternoon nap...
Papers and Embelishments from Crate Paper's Maggie Holmes Collection. You probably can see why I love this collection. They simply have elements like butterflies, pins and bold colours that I adore. I have supplies to last me a lastime so I might as well start using. I made more layouts using this collection. I will share with you guys once the new CSI case files are up in April.
Here is to spending less money and using whatever I have. I got to cut down and stick to buying what I aim to buy this CHA. Lets hope I dont break my promise. (:
Have a great Sunday ahead.

Life.Paper.Scrapbook Colour Challenge #1
We are very excited about our first colour challenge here at LPS and
even more excited about our sponsor for this challenge.
Here is my layout.
For every colour challenge that I do, the first thing I do is to look through my stash and gather papers and supplies that I know would suit the colour schemes. From there, it is easier to build up your page.
I have been obsessed with photo corners recently and love the idea of layering behind a pocket. My journalling was attached to a Studio Calico Calender Pocket Page and I used two brads to secure it to the page. I hope you feel inspired. (:
;
And now for the prize... This month we are delighted to be sponsored by Freckled Fawn! They are the go to place for all things washi and they have recently released their wood chips and lovely bits which are swoon worthy. Head on over to their website to see all the loveliness they have. And here is the prize - $20 to buy whatever you like :)
A HUGE thank you to Doe at Freckled Fawn.

How do I scrap?
1) I can only scrap when my table is clean and organised. Clutter tends to frustrate me and I would feel that I am not able to find anything in the mess.
2) A ready list of supplies and papers would have been selected before any creative process starts. I dont like to dig for stuff once I start creating so I would rather do the 'tough hunting work' before than after.
3) A basket filled with scrap papers and leftover embellishments are placed right in front of me so that I forced myself to try and use them.
4) My handy tools of punches, adhesives, pens and scissors are always placed right next to me.
5) I only scrap in blocks of 15 minutes. I can never sit down for a full 2 hours to complete a layout. It is just not me. I tend to take breaks, long breaks and that helps me to reorganise my thoughts. Each layout I complete tends to take about 2 days in total.

CSI #58 is now open. Be sure to check out this week's challenge. With the addition of our talented Em Straface, each month we will have a sketch to follow too.
I followed mostly to what the sketch looked like. I didnt want it to be a multi-photo layout so I decided to use polaroid patterned papers instead. The focal point was on the pictures so embellishments were centralised also. I love the more simple aspect of this layout.
;
Be sure to be back tomorrow as we open Life.Paper.Scrapbook Feb Colour Challenge. I will be sharing more about the challenge tomorrow and how I cracked it. (:

I took out a lot of my old stash such as my Maya Road chipboards and rubons to complement this layout. When it came to the colour, teal, i allowed it to be the highlight of this layout by misting it on Prima's mistable resist flowers. The colour really stands out, doesnt it?
I documented a love story to B also. She is truly the center of this layout. I love her pose and how demure she looks in this picture.
"Dear B, you are wonderfully made by God. You are sweet yet fiesty. You
love running around and sometimes we cant catch up. Yet, you can be the
sweetest little thing. You give us kisses and hugs willingly. I am in
love. "

Okay thats it for now. I lost my voice over the weekend so I am resting a lot now. Not sure how I am going to teach tomorrow but i am sure things will work out. Just hope that my voice will recover before the long CNY break.
Have a great week ahead.
