We're Still Here!

It has been forever since I have posted anything! I can never seem time to fit it into my day. I noticed the last time I posted an update was back in November...yikes! Between now and then, there is a lot I could share with you, since it was Carter's birthday in December and then Christmas. I have posted some more recent pictures and will try to keep more on top of this so there isn't such a huge gap in time!

Kaia is growing so fast! She is getting a mouth full of teeth, but has not been crabby at all while she has been teething. She has 4 on the bottom, 2 on the top (the ones next to her front teeth ) and her 2 front teeth are just about to come through.

A couple of Sunday's ago before Sunday School, Carter decided to make his own breakfast. Here I walk into the kitchen to find his breakfast on his plate...a piece of cinnamon bread with a THICK layer of butter and lots of salt sprinkled on top. If I remember right, I am pretty sure he only ate one bite and that was enough!

Kaia loves to give kisses!

Kaia will be walking before we know it! She is always wanting to be on her feet and tries to scoot herself over to where she can pull herself up. I think she might follow in Carter's footsteps and walk before she crawls.

Crazy Hair Day at Shover!

Kaia's first time sledding. A couple weeks ago it was so nice outside, so we took Kaia outside and pulled her on the sled. As you can tell by the picture below, she didn't really seem to enjoy it. It was so bright out that all she could do was look down, so the sun wouldn't be in her eyes.

This is what Carter was doing while Kaia was sledding. We had this big afternoon planned to be outside and go sledding and snowmobiling. We got all bundled up and got outside and then Carter decided he didn't want to go sledding, he wanted to go in the house. So, he did. He watched us from the window while we played with Kaia in the snow...after a while he pulled a stool by the front door and continued to watch us. I went in to check on him and this is how I found him...all curled up on the floor sleeping. This is unusual for Carter...he was VERY tired!

Carter went to a birthday party this past weekend and this is what he looked like when Matt picked him up!
Little Miss Kaia with her walking toy. She loves this thing!

The Cabin & Mississippi Headwaters

Over Labor Day weekend, we went up to Matt's family's cabin up north. Matt was planning to go bear hunting, so we decided to tag along for a relaxing weekend. Before going to the cabin, we stopped at the Mississippi Headwaters, which is only 15 minutes away. Carter thought it was pretty neat that he could walk all the way across the river.

Kaia Update

We have been so blessed by the addition of Kaia to our family. She is such a joy and loves to smile! She had her 4 month check up today and weighed 13 lbs and was 23 3/4 in. long.
Kaia got to spend time with her cousin Brooklyn, who lives in Colorado. They are only a month apart.

Carter entertaining Kaia.

Kaia's tongue is constantly popping out of her mouth. As Benny put it, she would be good at the game of Frogger!

2 tired kiddos!

There's that smile!

We got Kaia a Bumbo and she wasn't too sure about it at first. Now she seems to enjoy sitting in it so she can see what's going on.

Carter Update

Carter is so excited to be back at school. He is going 3 afternoons a week and I think would go every day if he could. He has quite the imagination these days and always keeps us laughing!

Out of the blue one night, Carter asked if he could sleep downstairs on the couch. We were kinda hesitant, but he insisted. He slept the whole night downstairs and didn't wake up once.

Carter got to spend some time with his cousin Rachelle, who lives in Colorado.

Carter and his best buddy, Micah.

All of us really got into the Olmpics, especially swimming, diving & gymnastics. He would try to imitate the athletes. I think he was doing the vault in this picture.

Carter could still use a nap about every other day, but that doesn't always happen. Here he fell asleep while in timeout.

I know I will end up with lots of these pictures, but he makes me laugh every time I look out the front door and see this!

At school, Miss Jessica read, If You Take A Mouse To School. In the book, they do a science experiment and create an erupting volcano, so he came and wanted to do one of his own.

July 4th

Matt's aunt and uncle were here over the 4th, so we spent most of the weekend at the lake. Carter had lots of fun playing with Benny and Alice and the neighbor kids!
