My lovely mom came for a visit a couple of weeks ago, and it was so wonderful having her here. I loved showing her our new home, our new neighborhood, our routine, etc. After having spent all summer with her, the boys were in heaven to see their grandma again.
We tried to do at least "fun" thing a day while she was here. We went to museums, played tourists downtown, and ate lots of yummy fro-yo. It was a perfect trip :)
I knew I missed her a lot when the day after she left I set the dinner table for 5 instead of 4. In those few short days I got use to having her around.
I love visits from family and friends!

Photo Find
I found this picture on my phone the other day that was taken while we were at church. I love these two!
A Mild Winter
This winter has been so mild, and while I do miss the snow from time to time, I do love to enjoy afternoon trips to the park in mid-January!
Working on Our Letters
Deagan worries me a bit with his lack of enthusiasm towards school. Working on letters and other school related things can be a challenge, so I have tried to take a laud back approach per my mom's advice. I'm so grateful for my moms advice because when I approach it with out stress and just do it with the idea to have, it goes great! It is fun to see him learn new things, so I'm grateful for those moments.
I have to laugh sometimes though because Kayden seems to have more interest in numbers and letters ( as you can see in the picture;). He just might learn to read before Deagan! :)

Ice Skating
In my attempt to do more fun things with the boys, I have found a few activities in the community to try out.
Today, we went ice skating! The boys were hesitant at first, but both really loved it once they got there. Deagan seemed to catch on a bit, while Kayden was content to sit on a sled and let me pull him around. Every Friday they have a time dedicated to kids ages 2-5 to explore the ice, so it's totally catered to these little guys. I wore the wrong shoes today, so after 20 minutes my feet were freezing. I hope to go back every Friday and to wear smarter shoes next time!

Paiting
We have been doing a lot of painting lately inside our house, so the boys have been on a painting kick as well. While they say they will not make a mess when they ask to help us paint the walls, we know better ;) The other day, Greg was painting and the boys were grumpy because they couldn't help, so I set up their own painting station. While it was not exactly what they wanted to do, it seemed to fill that void!
It was funny watching the boys paint because you can totally see their personality come out in their work. Deagan hates to get his hands dirty, so even though I let them finger paint, he was not having it. Kayden on the other hand loved painting with his hands!
The paint looks weird because I didn't have any finger paint on hand, so I made my own. I let it cook a little too long, so it turned into a jell-oy substance. They loved it none the less!
