Kangaroo Zoo

This past weekend we went to Utah and Idaho to spend time with family.  It was so much fun.  It was nice to get out of the same old routine here and to be around the ones we love!  The kids really did so well, but got restless from all the driving we did.

We were driving from Provo to Pocatello one night and it was taking us forever to get anywhere because of the traffic and the kids were just not traveling well for some reason. We decided to stop somewhere to let the kids work off some energy, and we found this great place called Kangaroo Zoo.  It is this huge building full of bounce houses and the kids had a great time.  Deagan was a lot more brave and adventurous than Kayden, but they both were able to run around a lot and burned off a ton of energy that made traveling from then on out much more enjoyable.

More T-Ball pictures

Deagan has been playing t-ball for the past few weeks and to say he is enjoying it would be an overstatement.  He doesn't put a lot of effort into it and is never really excited to go to any of his games.  He is so funny to watch during his games because he slowly runs from base to base and is totally in his own world the whole time.  I am not sure this is the sport for him :)

Here is a sequence of him hitting the ball and running the bases a few nights ago:

He is probably the youngest one on his team, so that might be part of it, but he just does not have the zeal for this sport. Poor kid would probably do better with his daddy helping him, but instead he has me :) We have 4 more games left, and honestly I am looking forward to the end of the season.  The games are long and hard to sit through sometimes.  I am glad he has been involved in it through because it keeps us busy and has helped us to meet new friends!

Playing with the dogs...

I don't know if I posted about the dogs in the house here already or not, so I might be repeating myself here a bit, but thats ok.

My parents have two dogs and then our puppy hazel is here, so there are 3 dogs living here.  At first, this really scared Deagan and he wouldn't go anywhere near them.  In fact, the first night we were here, he sat on the kitchen countertop to avoid them.  I was so afraid thats how the whole 6 months would go here, but thankfully both the dogs and the kids have warmed up to each other.  In fact, they love each other!

One warm afternoon, I took the kids outback to swim in the kiddy pool, and the dogs followed them around the whole time.  It was so cute to watch.

Kayden found a pole and was walking around with it.  My boys LOVE anything they can use and play swords with

Deagan and Hazel enjoying the same water

Kayden was trying to pull the hose over to the pool to fill it up some more

Beautiful Hazel

Bella! I love her eyes!

Now it is a gun!

Bella is so funny.  She jumps up on her back legs a lot and walks/jumps around.  She is so human sometimes is hilarious.  She is trying to get a bird out the tree in the picture

A beautiful night to play outside..

I just love this time of year.  We have been trying to spend as much time outside as possible, and its been lovely.

A few Sundays ago, the evening was beyond gorgeous, so the kids and I went out to look at the clouds and to play in the grass.  What a great summer thing to do right?  The kids brought out some spatulas and used them as swords.  They are boys through and through!  They had a great time and played so well together. I love moments like these.

Funny pictures of Kayden

Kayden is a funny kid. He just cracks me up all the time.

The first picture is of him at a wedding we went to last week. He was asleep through the wedding part, and then when pictures came we propped him this way so at least his head was in the picture. It was so funny to me for some reason.

The 2nd picture is him at the park near my parents house. He is a really timid kid when it comes to the swing, but he still wants to get on one every once in a while. He was sitting in the weirdest position, but he didn't want me to move him. Funny kid.

Every day is an adventure with these boys!

T-Ball

I am trying my best to keep us busy, so I have been putting the kids in to different programs in the community. So far Deagan has done swimming lessons and now he is doing T -Ball. It is so fun to watch those little ones "play". I am not sure if Deagan will make it pro with this sport, but he's having fun! ;)

Flowers from Afghanistan

This happened a few weeks ago, but I wanted to write it here.

One afternoon these beautiful flowers arrived at our door and they were from Greg! Talk about a fun surprise! He apparently ordered them over the Internet, and the local flower shop delivered them the next day. I love the Internet that allows us to stay connected this way!

Even though we are thousands of miles apart, Greg knows how to brighten my day. I love that guy!

Deagan got glasses!

A few weeks ago, I took Deagan to a kindergarten screening and he failed his eye test. I was really surprised by that because Deagan never said anything about not being able to see. But to be on the safe side we scheduled him an eye apt. My mom took him last week since I was helping my dad at his office, and it turned out he really needed glasses. He has really bad astigmatism and is far sighted. Poor kid has horrible eye sight and I never knew. Talk about feeling like a bad mom.

Today his glasses were ready for pick up! The first thing he said when he put them on was, "I feel like I am climbing over big mountains!" It is going to take time for him to get use to them. He keeps looking over the lenses, so I have to remind him to look through his glasses and not over. But really he did so good on his first day of full-time glasses. And he can see now!

I am grateful for modern medicine and technology that is helping my little boy see! We live in a great time don't we?
