Last I posted, we had just moved from New York and we were enjoying a lovely vacation with my side of the family in southern Utah before we moved to the DC area. Well, vacation is over and we have successfully completed our first full week of life here.
Our vacation was beyond lovely. (I will post pictures later) My entire family was there, and it was just perfect having all of us there. I hate living so far from family. They are just the greatest!
Greg started his job this past Tuesday, and so far so good! Having him done with school is beyond great. He technically doing an internship, so we really could go anywhere at the end of the summer if a different job opens up. At this point, we are totally open to whatever, so I am excited to see what will happen!
I like our actual apartment and the immediate area around it, but you don't have to go to far from our place before it starts to get a little scary. We only have a 3 month lease, so we are seriously considering finding a new place to move after the internship is over. We will just have to see where a job takes us!
We have only had one car for the past few weeks (we sold our durango the week we moved) so I have been kind of stranded here since Greg has been driving to work. (We live kind of far from a metro, so it is actually faster for him to drive since he leaves before 6:30 in the morning.) Like I said before though, the area around us get kind scary so I don't really like walking too far from our place which makes the kids and I pretty much stranded. Not that fun! Well today we bought a car! We found a car on craigslist that was used, with relatively low mileage, and was being sold for a great price! Now my options for exploring the area are endless, and I am excited to see more of the area with the kids.
Life is so different here, but it is good. It will just take some getting use to. Some things I am not sure I will ever get us to though. Like the traffic and the hot and humid summers. But it is all part of the experience right!?
Right.
