A roller coaster time!

The past few weeks have been totally crazy, so I have been so bad about keeping up in the internet world.

Here are a few things that our family has done and a few changes that have come our way:

-My twin sister who just got back from a mission, came out to visit us!! I have not seen her in almost 2 years until this point, so I was beyond excited to have her come out and be with us.  Our boys have fallen in love with her.  The first night she was at our place, Deagan asked me, "When I wake up, will she still be here? I don't want her to leave." It will be sad to say good bye in a few days.

Unfortunately, when she came, we were just getting over some kind of cold/flu bug, and we were kind enough to pass it on to her.  She is just getting over it now, so I feel bad for putting her through so much sickness.  Hopefully we has had fun despite the sickness!

-Greg's parents came out to be with us for his graduation! They stayed with us last weekend, and we were able to go to Palmyra and go to the temple there, have a picnic at a local park, and we attended graduation together.  My sweet mother-in-law felt bad she couldn't stay longer to help us clean our place for our move, so she willingly cleaned my stove! She is angel.  It was so great to have them here as well, and the boys also fell in love with them!

-As mentioned above, GREG GRADUATED!!! He is now the proud holder of TWO master degrees.  He was attending a top rated university and finished SO WELL.  I am so proud of him and how well he did.  Now it onto the "real world!"

The two years went by so incredibly fast, and where we lived really became our home and our friends became our family.

-We moved this past week to the DC area! It is such a bittersweet move for me.  It is nice that we are moving on because now we will have a more stable income and will feel more secure that way, but we are leaving behind so many great people and so many great places.  Deagan was in a fantastic preschool there, and I am so sad that he had to leave that early and leave all of his little friends.  We had wonderful friends who I miss terribly already, and we lived in such a fantastic location.  We were surrounded by a beautiful park and pond, there was a grocery store in my back yard pretty much, and the town we lived in had such a small town feel to it.  I feel like I totally took advantage of it, and I really did not realize how lucky we were to live where we did until we moved to our new place.  The DC area is in a world of its own, and I have not decided if that is a good thing or a bad thing yet.

We live in a nice place, don't get me wrong, but it is just different.  It takes twice as long to get anywhere, and the traffic is just awful. I am determined to make this place my home though, so I am going to jump in feet first and make the most of this time that we have here.  We are where we need to be right now, so I am just moving forward with faith knowing that and praying all along that I will have the strength to make this a great experience for my family.  Pray for me too ok?

-Now we are taking a lovely vacation with my family in Utah, and I am loving the fact that I am not packing, cleaning, or unpacking anything right now.  I will probably continue to be on an internet break while we are here, but after we get back and my husband starts work I will be back in the swing of things.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

He Walks!!

The Abominable Snowman

This year that Easter Bunny was going to bring the abominable snowman to Deagan, but as Easter drew near, it was obvious finding a toy abominable was harder than it seemed. But thank goodness for the internet, a toy was found.  It did not make it by Easter, so every day Deagan would ask if it came in the mail that day.  Five days later, his dream was fulfilled!

But as soon as he saw it, he said, "It is too small."

All that hard work for nothing! This kid is hard to please.

He warmed up to it though, and brings it everywhere with him now.

Isn't that the most random toy ever?

Easter 2011

We spent Easter with just our little family this year. It is hard being 2000 + miles away from family on holidays, but I tried hard to make it a fun day.  I made a bunny cake, which kind of turned our funny looking, so just use your imagination :) I also channeled some of my moms cooking and made a lovely dinner of ham and cheesy potatoes.  My mom would have been proud :)

Greg randomly got sick before church, so he stayed home while the boys and I went.  Spending those few short hours by myself with the kids at church made me very grateful for Greg and for him being an active member of the church.  It made me feel for those moms who take their kids on their own to church.  That takes faith!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Watching the eggs change colors!

It turned out to  be a lovely day for our little family! Next year, hopefully we will be able to spend the holiday with some family!

Earth Day Walk

Ob Earth Day, the boys and I went on an walk to celebrate the day. It was our way of not polluting the earth for that one day.

The weather was lovely, and the company was even better :)
