Simple Elegance Favor Gift Set~Cuttlebug Challenge #33

I decided to enter the Cuttlebug challenge with a wedding set gift box I made in the brides colors, Pink Passion and Lime Green. The entire little box was put thru the Cuttlebug using the Embossing Folder Bloom Dots. I used the wedding couples initials using my Just Rite stamper. I just need to put my gifties in...what a fun and cute little box!

You can visit the Cuttlebug Challenge site by going here and check out all the other entries!

Nature At It's Best

I just had to share our little "find" at our "North" home. We took a little mini vacation over Memorial weekend to our "North" home as we call it on Lake Huron. We arrived later then usual and it was dark. How we managed not to drive over these is amazing, as these were laying in a little dug out nest in the middle of the gravel driveway! My hubby discovered 2 eggs in the morning, the next day there were 3, and the next 4.

The mother bird is a Killdeer, we tried to stay away from her as much as possible, but when we were around, she would put on her "broken wing" act to try and lead us away. I think when we left on Monday night, she was gld to see the backs of us!!

I read that both the male and female birds take turns sitting on the nest, that they will hatch out in 24 to 28 days and will look like little yellow pompoms with sticks, I think we will probably "miss the show".

Just had to share these very hard to see eggs!

Vintage Aprons~I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Woowho!!! I finally sat down in my very messy "creative" room and put these darling "vintage" apron cards together. Geez, I just need to get my "mojo" back! Between my computer disaster, my never ending cleaning and reorganizing the garden, being gone for Memorial weekend, its been hard to get anything else done!

I saw this darling stamp image on a blog I subscribe to Thinking Inking ~ luckily for me, she had links to the Lockhart website, where I found Susana's "store" here ! I have to add,
my order from this store was shipped to me so fast I could not believe it, now thats service, plus she has some other goodies as well!!
The first card I just had to do in Stampin'Up! Rockabilly Specialty Designers Series Paper, after all, my own kitchen is done in red with cherries! The little teapot stamp is an older ME' stamp. I paper pieced just the ruffle and the pocket on this one.

The second card I did lots of paper piecing, and I cut the tie straps, the little cupcake stamp is a $1 stamp from Michael's. I just wish the ribbon showed up better in the photo, it is really a sheer dusty pink!

The last card, I used my "ever~useful" top note die for the back ground, and speaking of that background, can you guess what it is??? It's a piece of fabric cut from an old vintage apron. I loved the paper I chose for the apron on this one, as it had splotches of yellow on it here and there, looks like apron has some spots on it, just like a real vintage apron!!! Thanks for looking!

Bird in Residence~Wren~birdhouse is over 60 years old! Sorry to be gone for such long "times" in-between posts, but this is what I have been up to 24/7~GARDENING!!

These are some early photos of my garden, wait til next week when "things" really start to "pop"...I'll post more pictures along with my stamping items! I won't show my nails or my bee sting or how I almost have to crawl in the door at night, cuz man oh man this gardening stuff is work!

Birthday Cards

First card is one I made for my hubby's birthday on May 3rd! sorry there is such a glare, but I took the photo at 3am! The base of the card was made with SU Kraft card stock that I ran thru my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder, then rubbed with SU chocolate chip ink. The "camie" background was cut with a SU Top Note die, the brown in the paper is velour. The image is of course the retired SU "Noble Deer"...love this set!
The second card is one my "daughter" made for me for Mother's Day......I love it that she is starting to make her own cards and that she made this one for "me"!!

I have a few works in progress, but have to admit, my gardening is taking up most of my time! After spending 2 nine hour days in the garden (and live to tell about it), I ache so bad from all the physical work that I was up at 3am, went to put the dog out,(she has a "hook up" we fasten her to that hangs on a screw on one of logs outside the door, very easy for us), anywho, I grabbed the leash and there was a yellow jacket on it, and it stung my finger! Now here I spent all this time in the garden and get stung some silly way at 3am, and of course am out of Benadryl...ouch!!! My finger is swollen twice its size!

Mother's Day Card

Here is the card I made for my Mom for Mother's Day. It is really much prettier "in person". She really liked it. I also received a hand made card from my daughter...really cute...sorry so short, I am still recovering from the "shock" of losing all my photos and files and haven't spent much time doing anything!
The paper I used was from "cord-in-nations".....the embossing folder is from SU, I sanded the paper after I ran it thru my Big Shot, the stamped sentiment is from a Mother's Day set I won from Gina K Designs.....I love the set!
