Outside

Chase loves to look out the window
because he can see his latest new favorite thing.Do you see it?Nope, not his bee swing...

and not the steering wheel...

Yup, there it is. He LOVES to slide. Every day. Multiple times. Good thing it's right in the backyard.

Stuffed

My boys love their stuffed animals. But sometimes it gets a little out of hand.

Can you spot the sleeping child?

Free to a good home, or any home really. (the animals, not the child)

Mahoney

Easter weekend we went to Mahoney State Park and rented a cabin for the night. Our friends Tim and Taffy made all the arrangements and met us out there with their 4 kids. They have 3 boys right around Bryce and Austin's age, and their baby girl is 6 months older than Chase. Tim and Derek served their missions together and Tim found out we live close to each other when he stumbled upon this blog several years ago. They are really good friends to have.

The cabins were surprisingly nice and came fully stocked. Each cabin had 2 bedrooms, one with 4 single bunks and the other with a queen bed.
Even though Taffy is the most amazing cook I know, the men were the ones who prepared dinner,

while the little boys ran wild through the woods like a pack of dogs. They were in heaven!

As it got dark I gave them glowsticks thinking they would like that and it would help us see them as ran around. Well, the big boys put the ends of their glowsticks in the fire, melting them, then dripped the hot glowing liquid out and played with it. The little boys, of course, then did the same.

We took the glowsticks away.

That night we let the big boys watch a movie in one cabin, while the adults went to the other, super close by cabin with a baby monitor within range and played games. Then no one got any sleep at all because none of the children slept well and one of their boys woke everyone up at 6 a.m. Even in a cabin, it's still camping.

So we took them to the activity center in the park. For $2 each the boys all got to play in here for a couple hours. This structure is massive - the picture only shows half of it. We had some sweaty and hungry, but happy kids afterwards.

Since it was Easter we also did an egg hunt for the boys. The babies hunted inside,

while the pack of dogs, er... I mean boys, hunted outside. They loved it.

When we got home Chase enjoyed his first chocolate bunny. Smart boys took the ears off first.

It was a really fun weekend and I would love to do it again, but next time spend two nights and do it in the summer so we could go to the pool and do some of the other fun outdoors activities they have throughout the park.

Turtles

We bought this plush turtle for Austin while we were in Mexico. We found him with this container on his turtle, "Swimmy's", nose because Swimmy was SCUBA Diving.
We bought Bryce a sharks tooth necklace with multiple teeth (he asked, specifically, for that). When we got home he was more interested in Austin's turtle than he was with his sharks teeth. Then Derek took them to the zoo and Bryce convinced Derek to buy a turtle for him, too. (And because he is my child he can't just pick out a normal colored turtle. No, it has to be the brightest and most obnoxious color ever. Love it!)

And now his turtle, "Shelly", can go SCUBA Diving too.
