My brother lives in the country and has a chicken coop with a couple dozen chickens in it. These aren't your ordinary white farm chickens either - they're all different colors and sizes, some with long feathers and long, lean bodies, some with short feathers and squat, plump bodies, some tan, some black, several roosters, lots of hens and even baby chicks that hatch right there in the chicken coop. Pretty much every time we go visit I come home with cartons of farm fresh eggs.

I love it! You can practically feel how good for you they are! The eggs, like the chickens, are all different sizes colors - my favorite being the blue and greenish eggs, followed closely by the tan speckled ones.

The pictures don't do them justice with their fun colors. When they're cracked open, it's amazing how bright orange the yolks are and how clear the whites are. Eggs from the store look down right anemic next to them. (Don't you love my moose dishes?)

We really enjoy our fresh eggs from Bret's house - as well as the squash, peaches and other yummy fresh produce they unload on us in the summer. I have no desire to live in the country, but having a brother within driving distance who does sure is nice!
