seems appropriate...
National Quilting Day is today...and I have received my package for the "Downey Touch of Comfort Quilt for Kids". I am looking forward to putting this brightly colored quilt together, and to sending it off with my prayers for a child in need of a bit of comfort! The package was delivered to me very quickly and the fabrics are all cut and neatly packaged in preparation for assembly!

If you feel that you have a few extra minutes to piece a quilt for a child I think it is a very worthwhile cause to help out with. Just send off an email to www.quiltsforkids.org and your package will arrive at your door, with very simple instructions!

time gets away...

Today was a disappointing day and at the same time a good day! The disappointment was when the Principal and the Asst. Principal needed to tell my co-worker and I that it will be important to keep our purses locked in our desks, because someone has stolen money elsewhere in our building! It is not known if it would be an adult or a student that is responsible for stealing! This just really bothers me, it has always been my belief that if a person is really in need, there surely is a better way to get help, stealing is not an option IMHO! But needing to do as asked by our bosses, we now have locked things up...we will need to be aware of all the comings and goings in the building!
The good part of the day...is that Mickey and I have been able to schedule into *our* classes of choice at the Quilt Odyssey Show which will be held in July! This time together for Mickey and I is truly a delightful experience, and we always learn so much and have a wonderful time together. I struggled a bit with the scheduling online (this is new for Quilt Odyssey) but a telephone call to Missy and her helpers solved all the problems and Mickey and I are scheduled...gotta love computers!
Happy rest of the week to each of you, and instead of snow...the weatherman is suggesting it will rain! Remember showers bring flowers in the Spring (weatherman quote)!!

oh what to do...
Some time ago I was part of a *Crazy Patch Swap*, it was fun and I enjoyed taking part in the swap! Now pulling this project from my many plastic drawers of UFOs ☺, I see there is a problem and yes I did forget the problem in the months years since the blocks were tucked away in the drawer. What is the problem you ask? The problem is...9 blocks are a perfect 12.5 inches square (the requested size), and 7 of the blocks are whatever size the block makers came up with...some off by 1.5 inches and a few are not square at all, but a bit oblong!

(a scattered look of the 7 that are not the requested size)

I do love all of the blocks, I have planned to use my sewing machine to do the typical fancy stitches that are normally on a *Crazy Patch Quilt*! Mythought question is, do I use the nine blocks that are the right size...and make it a nice wallquilt or do I cut all of the blocks to a predetermined size and try to create a small/lap quilt? Oh what to do...this is why following directions in a block swap is so important, and sometimes the slightest difference in a few blocks can make a HUGE difference in the finished project! I will welcome suggestions from my blogger friends as I ponder the best plan for actually completing this project!
...............
p.s. I see my granddaughter Mickey has posted a few newly completed projects on her blog...if you have a minute you may wish to take a look!
