Mix your Stamps to create your Holiday Cards with Mindy Baxter

Mix your Stamps to create your Holiday Cards with Mindy Baxter

Hello everyone! It's Mindy from My Creative Scoop and today I'm going to share how simple it is to Mix your Stamps to create your Holiday Cards.

I'm using This adorable little Cow from the Barnyard Buddies Stamp Set, The hat from the Santa's Wonderland Stamp Set and the Sentiment from the Classic Christmas Stamp Set.

I've also used some Distress Oxides to create my Sky. I used Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers.

Check out the video below so you can see how I have put my card together.

Copic Colors used in video:

N0, N1, N3, N5, N7, E11, E00. E000, R35, R37

I hope you enjoyed my video and post this month. Have a wonderful day!

Cozy Christmas card using patterned paper with Sveta Fotinia

Hello! It's Sveta here again and I'm going to share one more idea of using Classic Christmas Stamp Set.
For me classic Christmas looks just like this: deep colors, tartans and snowflakes. I chose the most light pattern sheets for the flowers and the darkest for the background,

I stamped and die cut poinsettia flowers twice and put them into a composition on a card. I also used a tartan pattern for the sentiment strip.

So that's how I made one more very simple and quick card for the holiday season!

Wishing You Love (and Rainbows)

Hi there! It's Cheiron here with my last card of the year. I wanted to use one of my favorite holiday greetings along with some rainbow colors to send some cheer to all of you. This card is perfect for anyone during the holiday season.

To create the background of this card, I cut a piece of Distress Watercolor cardstock with the largest of the Scalloped dies. Then I inked it up with foam blending tools and Distress Oxides in every color of the rainbow and spritzed it with water.  After that, I stamped the sentiment from the Wishing You Love stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the tiny heart with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide and embossed that with clear embossing powder as well. When I was all done, I cut the inside of the panel with a stitched rectangle die and then layered the outside of the frame onto my black card base, followed by a piece of glitter paper just a bit larger then my stitched rectangle (with foam tape on the back), then added my stitched rectangle die on top. I had actually meant to line up the die and frame just as I had cut them, but when I put the pieces on the table, the outside colors were the opposite of what was inside. I liked the contrast, so I just went with it!

This card would be easy to replicate if you did a bunch of the panels at once, then stamped and cut and assembled.

Hope you enjoyed this walkthrough of my card. Wishing you all Joy, Warmth and Love this season and all the best for 2018!

Christmas and Cocoa with Heather Meeson

Happy Friday friends!  Not only are there only 10 days left until Christmas, but today is the last day our December guest Heather Meeson is with us.  This month, and year, are flying by!  Heather has a great idea for some quick and easy gift giving today, take a look:

For my last guest designer post, I’ve got a last-minute idea for gifting hot-cocoa.

Mine is sized to work with a cocoa packet that’s tall and skinny, but you can easily adapt it to work with any size you have.

To create this pocket all you need to do is a little scoring:

· Trim cardstock to 8” (wide) x 8 1/2” (tall)

· Create the “spine” by scoring at 3 3/4” and 4 1/4”

· Rotate cardstock and score at 6 1/8” and 6 5/8” (this creates the inside pocket)

· Trim excess cardstock under the left panel (front cover) and spine, this leaves only the pocket on the right side

This image shows what your scored paper will look like:

Once the pocket card was created, I added a candy cane to the outside spine with a glue dot and wrapped twine around to hold it closed.

The final step was to add the layer with the yeti scene; popping it up with foam adhesive to accommodate the twine underneath. The Yeti is from the Get Yeti set and the snowdrifts were created using the Stitched Slopes dies. My favorite bit is the candy cane (from the Beary Merry set) in the yeti’s hand (which I added by making a tiny cut with an xacto knife). The sentiment is also from Beary Merry.

DIY Snow Globe | VIDEO | Natalie Elphinstone

I love Christmas crafting and always seem to put a thousand projects on my "must try" list at this time of year. There's just something about this magical season that makes me want to create magical things. But since it can also be a bit crazy-busy at this time of year, it turns out the best DIY projects are also the ones that simple and easy to make!

I couldn't resist this DIY Snow Globe when I spied it in my local craft store, and about a million different ideas popped into my head. You could easily fill this with any number of Christmas images, and build up a much more detailed scene than I have. But in the spirit of keeping things quick and easy (but still super cute!!) I went with a couple of the children from the Christmas Pageant Stamp Set

My only added 'technique' which came with a degree of difficulty was when I decided to add the snowflakes hanging down from the top. Granted this was a little fiddly! But I do love the extra dimension and movement these add.

And a snow globe wouldn't be a snow globe without snow or glitter or something to shake around inside of there, so I added my entire remnants of my bag of Snowfall Sequins! It was the perfect finishing touch!

You can see how the whole project came together in my video today. I hope you enjoy it. And if I don't see you again beforehand, may you have the Merriest of Christmasses ever!

Clean and Simple Glitter Holly Card with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters!

Are you getting ready for the holidays?
I have bought zero things.
Exactly nothing.
I've got 19 days right?

You know what I have been doing though?
Making Christmas cards.
That I probably won't mail but it's the thought that counts right?

Today's card is super quick and easy but still looks super elegant.
My kind of card!

I started by using the Medallion Builder Dies to cut out "berries" and "leaves" to create Holly for my card. I cut the detailed version out of white and added some shading with my copic markers.

With the help of foam tape I was able to layer the detailed die over the glitter die creating a ton of dimension, not to mention all that beautiful glitter!

You can see the card from start to finish in the video below

It was a bit risky to add the frame at the end but sometimes you have to roll the dice to end up with a card you love :)

Before I go I wanted to remind you all that there is a SALE going on!
We are retiring some products to make room in the new year. You can see all of the products on sale here

I created this watercolor card with one of the sets on sale. If you're interested you can see the video here.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Leaf Wreath 2 Ways | VIDEO | Natalie Elphinstone

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on, and I'm trying to stay ahead by making as many cards ahead of time as I can.
Today I want to share with you the simple idea I had to create some holiday wreaths using your Neat and Tangled supplies in new ways.

For the two cards I'm demonstrating today I used the Medallion Flower Builder stamp and it's matching die set. I love to use non-holiday themed supplies for Christmas cards because it proves to myself what a good investment these pieces must have been if I can use them in so many ways! LOL!

For the first card I chose the largest leaf from the set and stamped it in a circle with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink, using masks where necessary. Very quick and simple, and looks so effective. I finished it off with some gold 'berries' and a red bow to make it really Christmassy!!

And for the second card I used the matching Medallion Flower Builder Die Set and cut out a series of leaves from watercoloured paper. The best bit about using dies to create a wreath like this is that you can play around with the arrangement a lot more before you stick them down. It gives you a lot more versatility than just the stamps, or at least - it doesn't require as much pre-planning ;-)

There you have it! Two different ways to create a wreath for your Christmas cards using non-Christmas supplies. And what I love most about this idea is that you could recreate it using ANY leaf stamp or die you might own. I'm seriously considering making a version using the Magical Day stamps, or the feathers from Calathea!

In my video today I'm going to show you exactly how I constructed both cards, and how quick it was. Certainly it was quick enough to consider making these in bulk if you had the need.

Well I hope you enjoyed this idea. I'd love to see if you give this a go, so post a link in the comments! And may your Christmas season be blessed with more much love and joy than you can contain.
xx

Hello Winter | Nancy Damiano

I'm knee deep in Christmas card stamping these days! Sometimes it's nice to take a break the and create a handful of cards that have a holiday feel without having a specific Christmas sentiment. I combined the words from Hello Winter and a cute snowman from the Get Yeti stamp set to create this look.

The base is red cardstock with a strip of watercolored aqua blue down at the bottom. This was created by using Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers and Broken China. A large square of white cardstock was stamped using the Hello Winter stamp set repeated. The white spots were filled in with snowflakes from the same set. The snowman from the Get Yeti set was colored with Distress Inks and placed over a vellum flag. Lastly, the script sentiment was stamped from the Holiday Baking set in black ink.

The final touch was a sprinkle of clear dew drops to give the card some texture and a snowball effect to go with our theme.

Using multiple stamp sets and focusing on the words of the season, is a great way to make a card with a holiday feel!
