Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, the kids made me breakfast in bed. It was my favorite;) It made me laugh! My kids just aren't old enough to make me a really nice breakfast. But it was nice just to relax in bed and read the cards. I love my family! The dishwasher was my big Mother's Day gift, so I can't remember if I got anything else.

Nate was busy making two chocolate syrup cakes for the dinner at Grandma Summers' house. We had a lot of people there (with Brent, Tyler, and Nate's brother Aaron joining us). He also took care of all poop. And that's a big deal around here.

Just some random pictures

Ethan Walking! Soccer and Baseball

We missed the Easter craft at Grandma's so she gave us the stuff we made it later at home.

Lots of rain this spring! Because of that, a few of Logan's baseball games were cancelled and they had to stretch out the season. He is doing coach pitch and is doing well! He usually hits the ball on the first or second try. He had a couple of kids on his baseball team who were also on his soccer team. So that was fun!
Logan has soccer practice on Fridays now, since baseball is Thursday. And soccer game on Saturdays. So the week is full of sports!

He had a much bigger team, but some people seem to think that if they aren't buying the pictures, they don't have to come.

For a one-on-one with Logan, we went to Dartside. It was super fun! (He insisted on staying in his soccer clothes. Luckily little kids don't sweat too much.) Mom's get in free during the month of May.

Ethan finally started walking on May 10th! So yes, he was over 18 months old. It's amazing! He has been walking on his knees for quite awhile, but just wasn't brave enough to try it up higher. Now he can actually play Ring-Around-the-Rosies in Nursery!

This video was about a week later.

Here are a couple more fun videos of Ethan from a littler earlier.

Easter 2019

The Friday before Easter, we dyed Easter Eggs! We did it in the afternoon, so Nate could join us after work. He helped Ethan dye a few eggs.

The day before Easter (the 20th), Logan had a soccer game in the morning, then baseball practice in the afternoon, then we went down to my parents for the last Easter celebration before their mission. My parents had to do the Easter Egg hunt in shifts because of different schedules with Spring sports. We were in the 2nd group. We did it in the roundabout area by my parent's house. Ethan figured out what he was supposed to do! It's just hard when you don't walk! I had forgotten that he walked on his knees for such a long time before he learned to officially walk. So funny!

After the hunt, we had a yummy dinner! Pretty soon after, we had to head home. It was a very busy day!

The next day was Easter! The kids found their baskets first thing in the morning.

After church, we went to the Summers' to do another egg hunt. Unfortunately, it was bad weather so it had to be done inside. Grandma had a special bag of treats for each child as well. Being inside made it made it easier for Ethan to find the eggs! And we had a yummy dinner there!

Other April Happenings (besides Easter)

On Friday we went to the Summers because the Phelons were back from their Spring Break trip to Vegas. We brought lunch from the Old Grist Mill and ate it with Grandma Hill at her house and then went to Layton Surf 'n Swim for some swimming. I stayed at the Summers so Ethan could get a much needed nap.

Nate and Logan had their first soccer game of the spring bright and early Saturday morning. After the soccer game we went to my parent's house for general conference. We had a little game night that night with my parents, Missy, and Shawn. It is the last general conference before my parents go on their mission. We played Carcasonne and 7 Wonders.

Nate took on a second (seasonal) job. He will do document review for a particular sensitive case. They needed a few extra hands for this particular project. The nice thing is that he was able to work on it from him, so he would spend about an hour on it some evenings in the week. He didn't make a ton, but he made enough for us to be able to buy a nice new dishwasher! So excited!

Friday the 26th, we went to Lagoon on a Davis School District employee Lagoon night. Traffic was terrible trying to get there because of all the families going so we got there a bit late. We met up with Cindy and her family there. We ate dinner of hamburgers and chips and then rode a few rides. I thought since the night was reserved for just employees and families, that we would be able to ride a bunch of rides. Apparently there are a ton of people who work for Davis School District and it was crowded so we weren't able to ride as many rides as I was hoping. Logan had been exposed to roller coasters at Lego Land so he was excited to try some at Lagoon. He was much braver than both Annika and Jillan. He especially enjoyed the Wild Mouse. Kylie's favorite was the Carousel. I really wanted to try Cannibal, but there just wasn't time. We left Ethan with a babysitter and I didn't want to get back too late because of that. It was already after 9 when we got back.

Nate and I are on there somewhere!

I am terrible at taking selfies on a rollercoaster. This is on Puff.

Logan started baseball again. His coach is the Northridge High School baseball coach so his practice was there with some of the high school players. Logan liked have the big kids there to practice with. He played catch with one of them.

Nate volunteered as a Watch Dog and helped out in Logan's and my classes. He got to go to recess with Logan and eat lunch with him. Nate was there on our Cinco de Mayo day and helped me do a craft with a couple of classes (the 4th grade classes were rotating to different teachers to do something fun about Cinco de Mayo). I showed them a short clip about Mexican music and had them make Maracas out of Easter Eggs, spoons, and rice.

I got released as Young Women's President! It was a fun calling and definitely stretched me, but it is a huge relief to be done with it. I still want to finish my Personal Progress though, to set a good example for the girls!

Charlie rolled in some sidewalk chalk and turned pink and blue!

San Diego Day 3

Wednesday was another big day as we went to Sea World. It was a lot of fun and we packed as much as we could into the day. We pretty much saw every animal there.

We also went to 3 shows: sea lions, killer whales, and dolphins. They were all pretty neat but the sea lions were probably the most fun, the Orcas offered the biggest splashes/show, and the dolphins were full of tricks.

Nate and Logan did go on one spinney ride but we pretty much stayed away from the rides since that wasn't the purpose of our trip and most of them were too old for our little kids.

I must not have gotten a picture of the penguins. They were way cute! And so little!
I can't remember what these are. But they live at the poles, where it is cold. We also saw a beluga whale.
Before we went to the Sea Turtles, we took a break to cool off and watched a little movie about the good things that Sea World does to nurse animals back to health and reintroduce them to the wild. Ethan fell asleep during the movie, so I stayed in there after it was over to let him sleep on me for a few more minutes. After he woke up, I joined them at the Sea Turtles.

We did also let the kids play in a play area for a bit. We went to Arby's for dinner. It was such a fun vacation! We went home on Thursday. The way back home was less eventful with no traffic. The kids did better than I had hoped in the car!
