First Big Outing!

In the middle of April, I ventured to Salt Lake with the two kids and just me. It was the first time I had taken them both out for an outing longer than a little shopping trip so I was a little nervous about managing two kids. Especially since I was still recovering (but I was doing much better) and I had to do it sometime!

I went because I was able to get some formula from someone for a good price (her baby didn't like that kind, I guess) and because people at Nate's work wanted to see the baby. So we first got the formula, then went to Nate's work. There was some definite oohing and ahhing since she's just beautiful, then we went out to lunch with Nate to Carl's Jr. I happened to see an old high school friend there (Dan Adams), so we did some quick catching up.

After lunch, we dropped Nate off at work, and I took the kids to the Clark Planetarium. Logan has been there before, but he was probably just a year and half so I'm sure he didn't remember it. He really had a blast this time and especially loved looking at Newton's Daydream (the ball contraption). He also loved this thermal camera thing that showed red for warm parts and blue for cold parts. You could put one hand on a cold thing it would show blue and one hand on the warm thing and it would show red. We played with that for quite awhile and touched different body parts to make them warm or cold.

For the most part, everything went fine except for a time when Logan wanted to go down the stairs and was on his way down them, and I had Kylie in the stroller so I couldn't go down them and I didn't want to leave her by herself but I also didn't want Logan to be downstairs by himself. I finally convinced him to come back up so we could use the elevator. But I was a bit nervous for a minute that I would have to run down to get him and leave Kylie upstairs for a minute.

But my first outing was a success!

Kylie is 1 month!

On April 9th, Kylie turned one month old! She is a great baby. She sleeps so well. She just goes down after a little bit of rocking and usually only wakes up once a night to eat. And she is just beautiful. I hadn't left the house much, but whenever I did, I got all sorts of comments on her hair! She's just a beauty!

She also loves to eat! She wants it when she wants it and cries so hard if you are too slow in getting it. She has such a loud cry! So different from Logan. It really has an effect on me!

Logan loves her, sometimes too much, so we have to watch them closely when he wants to hold her or play with her. But he is very proud of his baby sister and he does like to hold her. She is usually patient with him.

Mommy, take my picture!
Her first time at church! April 12, so just over a month

Easter!

The weekend before Easter, we went to an Easter egg hunt at the Hill Air Force Base Museum. They had a ton of eggs just laying all over the grass. They had different sections for different ages so Logan was in the youngest age group. The Gees also came and we met them there.

This is how Kylie enjoyed it. And she slept a lot.

The next weekend was conference weekend and Easter. We went to my parents' house in Tooele. Tiff and Missy's families came too. We actually came early so I could have some time with my mom. Since we were living with Nate's parents, my mom didn't have a chance to come. That way she could have some bonding time Kylie. I did some resting and we dyed Easter eggs.

I brought Logan's Easter basket stuff so Saturday morning, he did a hunt to find his basket.

After the first session of conference, we did the Easter egg hunt. My mom even made mini baskets for each of the grandkids to find.

Logan actually wore his Easter outfit the Sunday before since Conference was on Easter. So handsome!
We had a fun time, but at the end I wasn't feeling well. I made an appointment with my doctor and it turns out I had an infection from the incision. I guess this happens more often when you lose a lot of blood. So they put me on antibiotics and within a few days, I was feeling a bit better. But it was quite the set back and a bit frustrating. And I basically lost my milk supply because Kylie didn't seem to like the antibiotics so I tried pumping, but I wasn't very faithful. And after the struggle with Logan, I just didn't want to go through that again. So she became strictly a bottle baby and we're all happy.
