Dremel

Taloa odotellessa päätin hankkia vihdoinkin kunnon työkalun - Dremelin. Nyt riitti käsin poraaminen, hiominen yms. Nasu on siirtynyt käyttämään voimatyökaluja :) Hyvin näytti poraavan ainakin puuta. Nyt pitää tutustua eri teriin (ostin heti lisäsarjankin).

Koska uuteen taloon tulee sähköt, niin sinne pitää kaivertaa urat sähköjohdoille, jotta ne saa piiloon. Käsin siihen hommaan ei oikein pysty, niin tuli hyvä syy hankkia Dremel. Suojalasitkin oli jo valmiina. Nyt pitää sitten vain tottua, että kone pitää ääntä.

While waiting my new house to arrive I finally bought a real power tool - Dremel. I am done with drilling and sanding by hand. Nasu is going to use power tools from now on :) Drilling a hole to wood took only a few seconds. Now I have to try different accessories ( I bought 100 more).

Because the new house is going to be electrified, I have to drill holes etc for the wires so that I can hide them. By hand that is quite impossible, so I had a good reason to buy Dremel. I even have the safety goggles. Now I just have to get used to the noise the machine is making.

Uusi talo - New House

Pitkään on jo ollut mielessä, että pitäisi hankkia uusi nukkekoti, jotta saisi vanhan valmiiksi. Nyt sitten innostuin Greenleafin Glencroftista. Tarkoitus on sijoittaa talo nykyaikaan, mutta sisustaa vanhanaikaisesti, lähinnä viktoriaanisesti. Viktoriaanisissa sisustuskirjoissa on niin kauniita sisustuksia, jotka olen halunnut toteuttaa ja tähän taloon aion ne sitten tehdä. Nykyaikaisuus mahdollistaa monien kivojen tehtyjen ja saatujen esineiden sijoittamisen taloon.

Nyt sitten pitäisi malttaa odottaa, että talo saapuu noin 18.8.

I have been thinking of getting a new doll house so that I could finally finish the old one. I got excited about a Greenleaf House Glencroft. I am going to decorate the house victorian style but in the present time so I can put there all my nice modern items. There are so many beautiful pictures of Victorian rooms in my books that I am really looking forward of replicating them in miniature.

Now I just have to wait till August 18 to get the house.

Kello - The Clock

BEFORE

Ostin Lontoon museosta tällaisen pienen metallisen kuninkaallisen vaunun nukkekotiini tuliaisiksi. Se näytti takanreunalla vähän hölmöltä, kunnes keksin tehdä siitä kellon. Materiaaleina Britalta saatu kellotaulun printti, tekosilmän kupu ja pätkä kultaista ääriviivatarraa.

I bought this little metal royal coach from The Museum of London as a souvernier to my dollhouse. It looked a bit odd on the mantlepiece until I had an idea to transform it into a mantle clock. All I needed was a clock print (from Brita), a piece of a fake eye and a strap of golden sticker.

Haaste - Challenge

Haastan kaikki mineilijät tekemään valmiiksi jonkun keskeneräisen projektin, joka voi olla mitä tahansa kokonaisesta nukkekodista yksittäiseen esineeseen. Multa löytyy useita keskeneräisiä projekteja ja nyt olisi tarkoitus saada muutama vaikka valmiiksikin. Tässä Katriinalta ostamani Verenpisara-kukkakitti valmiina.

I challenge all miniaturists to complete an unfinished project, which can be anything from a whole dollhouse to single item. I have a lot of unfinished projects and now I am going to finish at least some of them. Now I finished this flower kit I have bought from Katriina.

Monenlaista - Various things

Tässä kuva uudesta ammeesta. Amme on oikeasti kylpyvaahto yms. setin alusta, jonka sain Britalta.

This is a new bath tub to the bathroom. It is from a life-size bubblebath set. I just took the bottles out and I had a doll house bath tub in my hand. I owe thanks to Brita from this marvellous idea.

I have made these things a while ago but I haven't had time to take pictures of them. I have made the books from real leather and some scraps of thick cardboard.

The chess table is made from doll house mouldings and spindles. The top is made from 5mm x 5mm little mosaic ceramic tiles.

I got this beautiful picture frame and picture from Brita.
I finally had time to iron all these crocheted table mats. I am not sure if I should sell them in Etsy or should I wait till the Dollhouse and Teddy Bear Fair in Helsinki at the end of this year.
