True Beauty

I love this girl. I would be most happy indeed if my 2 turned out just a little bit like her. She is such a sweetheart. A pretty face, but a gorgeous heart.
This is for the current roadmap.

which looks like this:

If you squint your eyes and poke your tongue out a bit, you can see I actually did follow the sketch quite closely, it just doesn't appear that way at first glance!

especially for Carol...

Carol reeeeeally wants to know how I made these paper flowers!! Thanks for saying hello Carol!
Try THIS FLOWER TUTORIAL that mine were based on.
I hand cut my flowers though as I don't have a punch. They need 6 petals. And instead of neatly rolling OUT, I wet my edges, roughed them up until the white inside was revealed and then rolled them IN.
When the whole 3d flower was assembled, I squashed it flat.
A couple of people compared them to Prima lollipops - they are actually nothing like it - much more complicated!!! And very hard to photograph - IRL they look very 3d and have a real sense of depth to them.
I'm yet to try these neat versions shown in the tutorial link, but I love the look of them, and will give it a go as soon as the right layout presents itself.
Hope you enjoy playing and please leave me a link to your project if you give it a go. I'd LOVE to see!!

Some exciting news, some cyberscrapping, some yummy cooking and some other stuff

Some super exciting news... I will be designing for Lime Tart for the rest of the year. How cool is that? I have had myself a nice DT break and am feeling a bit more in control of my workload now so looking forward to regular date nights with pattern paper and ribbon again. Especially in such yummy combinations as Philippa puts together. Those June kits look awesome! Some cyberscrapping... Been playing along at the Scrap therapy cybercrop this weekend. The theme is 'once upon a time' and it's been heaps of fun. First I did the inspiration challenge, this was our inspiration: And my layout: Then I did the card challenge - a set of Princess cards: And the puzzle sketches layout I said I would share and didn't yet: Some yummy cooking: OMG They are delicious! I'm in love with these Betty Crocker triple berry muffins! It's a good thing they are so easy and cheap and low fat! They don't last very long! I'd be spewing if I had spent the whole day making fresh muffins from scratch and then they were gone in half an hour! Other stuff... The alfresco door for my office has arrived! woohoo, hopefully it can be installed next weekend, I am desperate to move in!! My new car is already filthy dirty, full of kids toys and rubbish and I have my first stone chip :( You can hardly even notice the new car smell anymore :( so sad! My Sharna gets cuter everyday, such a sweetheart. My Kirra is still testing my sanity and patience everyday...
Well I'm off to watch the Star Trek movie with hubby. Again. LOL, I think this might be viewing number 4 for him!!
Thanks for stopping by!
