Griswald's.....I mean Namvary's try the OBX

Well we made the long trek down to the Outerbanks. Nags Head. This trip had all the potential to be amazing but we hit quite a few weather speed bumps. Hurricane Erica just sat at our door step for a while. A giant house on the beach would have been much cooler if I didn't have to patrol 4 sets of hardwood stairs to make sure a certain 16 month old didn't kill herself on them. We will definetly try this again next year.....maybe August however. We traveled with the Meshers, Misters, Ruleaus and Bottinos. Kyle had a blast and was an angel. And the one day that was crystal clear skys and warm was spectacular. Next year Julie will be older and hopefully we'll dodge all hurricanes, tropical depressions, sprinkles and the like.

Another silver lining is Kyle found a new best friend and maybe our new babysitter!

Kyle's 1st day of Pre-4

Kyle started preschool last week. He has a new teacher. Her name is Mrs. Thomas. His classroom is bigger and better than last year. I think he is really going to love being there. Tomorrow he gets to take a red apple to class to learn about the color red! So cute. He is already more interested than last year. He carried his own book bag..which calls his "pack and play". I think his renewed interest might have something to do with the fact that Spiderman is on it.

Kyle's 4th birthday

Kyle turned 4 over the summer. We changed up our party style this year. Instead of the blow out at our house we had it at the Arena Club. Kyle LOVES to swim so we couldn't resist having it there. Since that party Kyle has become an even better swimmer....he is treading water without his vest. He can swim 6 or 7 feet without any help or any life vest! Look out Michael Phelps...Maryland has a new pro.

Storyville

Here is an awesome thing to do with little guys. Storyville in the Kenwood library. Kyle and Julie could have stayed there all day. So much to do and they are totally locked in and safe. Not that you can leave them...but if say your 15 month old takes off you know she can't get far. There is a playhouse, grocery store, post office, theatre, and construction site. This is free but kids must be under 5 to go. There is also a nice nursing area and clean restroom.
Mondays are story times for babies and tuesday are for toddlers. You don't have to go to a story time however...you can go for free play all day!

The Plumpton Zoo

Did you know there is a zoo in North East? There is and so cute. If you have little ones this is the perfect little trip for you. $11.95 for adults $6 for kids over 2yrs. There is lots of shade and a picnic area for lunch. They only sell ice cream and soda so bring snacks and drinks. You will be surprised at how many animals they have. I thought there would only be chickens and cows. But there were giraffes, tigers, and free roaming peacocks everywhere.
