Happy Birthday!

My father-in-law celebrated his 80th Birthday this month. It wasn't easy to get there either! He is a great father-in-law and I love him dearly. We surprised him with dinner, cake and a scrapbook. Here are a few shots from the evening.

My daughter took this... interesting perspective from a child's eye!

Nascar

While K was on a recent business trip he was treated to a tour of Nascar. The following pictures are some of what he took while there.

The track...

This one makes me laugh. He is taking a picture of himself on the track... he doesn't look to confident in the process does he! Despite the look on his face, he did enjoy his visit and being able to stand on the track.

Roomies!

So last weekend I got together with my BYU roommates and had a fun time. We met at Build-a-Bear and each made a stuffed animal. We then went to dinner where we stayed until it closed as we visited the night away. It was great to get together again!

Here I am holding down the foot pedal to blow "stuffing" into my animal.

Here are our pets...Bonnie did one for her husband also...
The rest of us all seemed to like the shaggy dog. Mine is the one with the sunglasses.

This was taken at the end of the evening so we all look tired (after all, it is past our bed time!) But we had to get a picture of us together! Next time we hope to have Andrea with us also!

Thanks for the fun roomies~

Choir

CD had a choir performance during a school assembly the other day. She called me to let me know and I came to listen. I arrived while they were practicing and took a few photos.
There were only 6 parents there....that totally surprised me! It was a great assembly and they did an awesome job! I also included a bit of video that I took while they were practicing.
This is the pianist. She is a fantastic player, extremely talented! She currently is writing music for production done at Utah State University--funded by a grant. When CE was in elementary his class wrote an opera that they sang and acted out and this pianist put all the words they wrote to music. It was amazing. She is also a wonderful cook (she brought us dinner when we first moved in) and a all-around great person.

It was also PAJAMA DAY at the school so as you can see, many of the kids have their PJ's on under their shirts. CD is in the 2nd row from the bottom and the 4th over from the left.

Great job kids!

Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday my good husband and boys worked hard in the yard with the chain saw and removed these trees growing on our property line (trying to make way for a fence---which we need to help keep the dogs in the yard. They have stayed put for 6 years, but now they like to wonder some...so a fence is our solution.)

While the men worked, my sister and I took the youngest kids to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt (although no eggs were found, they did get lots of candy!) , we also went to a free craft day at a neighborhood business, and an Easter Egg Hunt in the local grocery store where the kids got more candy AND they each came home with a free 1/2 gallon of ice-cream! They had a fun day!

After the hunt playing on the playground was a must. We were THE LAST of hundreds to leave the park.

Police and Washers

My sister and her family came to visit from Las Vegas on Friday. They had a busy schedule with lots of different family and friends to be seen while in Utah so we were glad to be able to have them visit us most of the day on Friday. We started out with a tour of the Sheriff's Office. My nephew wants to be a police man for Halloween this year so he enjoyed being there...I hope the others did too. I was bummed when I looked at my pictures and realized we didn't get one of either my sister or her husband while they were here! None-the-less, we were so glad to get to visit! Thank You for coming!

CD always draws pictures and notes on the white board in the office...

In the afternoon I had a new washer and dryer delivered. My washer died on my the other day mid-load and so we spent the next few days shopping for a new washer. My husband liked the good deal we found on a set and decided to buy me that. I couldn't complain ('cus I love them) so instead of just a new washer I got a new dryer also! I listed my old dryer on KSL.com since it was still a good dryer and sold it about 1/2 hour after my new one was delivered.

My washer...

My dryer...The thing I found I really like is the pedestals that they are on. My detergents and stain removers are tucked away nicely AND I don't need to bend over at all when loading or unloading clothes in either machine. My back is really enjoying that! Thanks Hubby!

Spring Formal

I know L has (or will soon) post these on her blog also, but as a proud mom, I need to do so also! I thought she looked beautiful!

CD is 10!

We recently celebrated CD's 10th birthday. I can't believe MY BABY is 10! I took donuts to her class at school, and I made Som Tum and Thai Curry for dinner at her request. She had grandpa and her cousins come over for cake and ice-cream and she opened her presents. She was exstatic to receive her first WebKins!
