Birthday and Football season

We celebrated K's 50th birthday--I wrote him the following poem---which is admittedly nothing great, just done quickly and for fun---it was to explain his present(s) so I'll write it here... since I didn't follow proper stansa stuff for poetry, it doesn't read real great ('cuz I was in a hurry...and well, I am not a poet!) but it will read best 2 lines at a time.
Well, you're over the hill
and it gives you a chill,
so I threw my hat in the ring
I wanted to throw a big fling...
But I thought of your scowl
and I threw in the towel---
You'd bury your head in the sand
instead of hiring a band,
so instead of curling up in a bun,
I went back to square one;
But because you're a good chum,
I struck a happy medium.
So just our family it will be,
to honor the one most loved by me.
I thought right off the bat,
I could buy "this-and-that",
So I bit the dust---
50 presents was a must!
I kicked up my heels
with a wallet of bills---
I shot from the hip
with a bargaining chip.
It wouldn't cost an arm and a leg,
'cuz there's not much left in our nest egg.
I shopped clearance and garage sales---
I'm sorry, but there's nothing upscale!
So with a sense of humor,
stretch your mind and detour--
Some gifts maybe silly,
but nothing to frilly.
Just roll with the punches
as you unwrap your bunches--
So, I hope you're okay---
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

K---with all of his 50 gifts

Blowing out the candles...

CE had his first game of the season the first Sat. back from CA. His team won 32-0.

Last Sat. was his second game, and they won, 33-13. They are off to a great start.

Here is CE at practice--he has the "4" on his back.

At his game last Sat. He played Offensive guard and Defensive Tackle.

Here he is --number 61--taking on the "X" man.

Old Sac and Jelly Bellies

Today we drove down from my brother's to the Jelly Belly Factory. CE got the courage to taste the "skunk spay" jelly belly. By the look on his face, I think he regretted it.

We hit it at a bad time and had a long line...

After the factory we went to a park and had some PB&J sandwiches. K and CE went around the park and did the exercise trail.

We then went to Old Sacramento---I took this picture for my batman fan.

K took this of the officer "doing his job" and cleaning up after his horse. It reminds K that he can't complain about the "crap" at his work!

The boys found the shop for them...lots of hats!

The Vacation.

Hey, this is Laundry! My mom isn't very good at keeping her blog updated. haha. Mostly cause our home computer does NOT like blogger, and my mom's lap top can't read her memory card. SO we use my dad's lap top. haha.

Anyways. We are currently in California, and if you want to see what's all been going on the last few days here, feel more than welcome to click on the "laundry" link on the right side of this page. (That's my site...) There are some pictures on there from the trip that we are currently on. Sweet.

Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Lazy Dayz

K got up early today and to the dogs delight, took them to the park before church.

Missy loves to play catch and JR runs back and forth with her. It really wears them out!

My mail basket seems to be a favorite place for cat-naps!

L pre-paid for the last installment of the Twilight series and attended a bookstore party prior to the midnight release of the book. She picked up her book at midnight, stayed up reading until 2:00 and read for hours yesterday (causing a bad headache that has lingered today...which gave me the oppurtunity to start the book! She is taking more frequent and longer breaks today!)
