busy week!

CD had her last soccer game of the season on the 17th. Her coach quit last fall leaving the team in a lerch, but a new coach stepped up and coached our team as well as his daughter's team! Thanks coach! He even gave all our girls a medal with their names engraved on them.

T graduated from high school on Tuesday. She was soooo excited! She said she never knew she could smile so big and for so long. She did have a smile on her face the whole day.

For a graduation gift she got an ipod nano--she says, "you're the coolest parents ever!" and she loves the ipod.

So here's CE's cast---shot his baseball season and his last 2 soccer games of the season. He watched a few of the games and wishes he was playing... He'll think twice before hitting a wall again!
On Wed. CE had his 6th grade graduation. He is thrilled to be singing this song with his fellow sixth graders.
For the holiday today we went to Mt. Timpanogus. I have always wanted to go there. It was raining and we got pretty wet (thank goodness it didn't rain the whole time we were there!)

Starting up the mountain. From the visitor's center the hike is 1000 ft. up in elevation and 1 1/2 miles.

I had to stop and take this picture on the way up....

Inside the cave....

They call this the Heart of Timpanogus. This stalactite is 5' 6" ---the same height as CE. The guide pointed that fact out to everyone.

K climing in the cave. There were many tight spaces we went through.

Going down him was much easier. Alot harder on the knees, but I didn't have to stop and catch my breath once...and it was a lot faster!

Lagoon!

Yesterday I had a sub fill in for me at work and I went to Lagoon with T. The Sp. Ed students all went for the day. Lagoon was only open for schools so lines were very minimal--if at all. At first we were worried because it was so windy--but that died down quickly and it was a beautiful day. We rode over with the class on the FrontRunner---(seats to spare this trip!)
T waiting for the Frontrunner

Me and T near the end of our day---we rode many rides and had a great time. T has me go with her each year because she usually is more than ready to go home before the group goes home. Yesterday we stayed until they closed at 4:00. She said, "I am so proud of myself! I am making it through the whole day! I haven't complained about a headache, or a stomach ache, or being too tired or anything! I feel just fine!"

I took this picture of T while we were on the sky lift.

K planned on joining us after a work meeting (around 11:30), unfortunately life was busy at the office and he didn't make it until 3:15! (Better late than never!) The park closed at 4:00. He went on 2 rides with us but the second one made him real sick and it was all he could do to drive us home where he promptly vomited. We got season passes this year (our first time to do so---thanks to income tax refund) Next time K goes I will be sure he takes a motion sickness pill before hand! It worked great for me and T!

bones, snakes, and Mother's day

Saturday we went up to Huntsville to my in-laws old house to help clean up the lot. The prior Sat. we spent the day filling up a dumpster and this past Saturday the old kitchen was gutted and we burned all the cabinets along with with an old avery in the backyard and some piles of rotting wood on the lot. My boys needed to knock down the avery to burn. They took some running leaps at it kicking down 3 walls---the 4th fell with the 3rd. (I have e-mailed the picture from my phone 4 times and still it has not arrived...if it does I will add it.) CE thought he would hit the wall with his fist when they first started. Below is a copy of his x-ray showing his broken 5th metacarpal--the hand bone below his pinky. He is currently in a splint and will have a cast put on during the week.

J was picking up some wood to toss in the fire and he found a snake--of course he was excited and it is now living in my front room!

Sunday was mother's day. I started it out by starting my dishing washer before heading to church. Yes, I did say dishwasher! Sat. we had a late start heading to Huntsville because I was waiting for my new dishwasher to be installed. I am so excited to have a dishwasher again. It has been about a year (or at least it seems like a year!) and we have all missed it! I was lucky and got a great deal on a Bosch---it was sure nice to come home from church and have all the dishes clean. After church I finally took CE to the doctor. I am cruel sometimes but he broke it soon after we got up to Huntsville and I told him if he is going to be hitting walls he will have to suffer the consequences and deal with it until we can take him into the Dr. office. In the meantime, I told him he still needed to work---just concentrate on using his good hand. Then against his wishes, I didn't not take him Sunday during church but made him wait until afterwards. But my sister stopped by soon after church so I made him wait some more while I visited with her for an hour or so. But finally he was able to go and get the official news that Yes, it is broken. As soon as we got back, we picked up my dad and we headed to Huntsville for dinner.

L, Tiffani, Crystal, Rachel, CD in Huntsville. J went for a walk and took my camera and took lots of pictures. Below are just two. He had some fun ones of a horse and her colts but they are on his memory card...

Frontrunner

One week ago today (I know--I am slow but I lost my camera and was starting to think I left in on the train. Was I ever happy when I found it!) we took the family on the new Frontrunner for Family Home Evening. Since it is new, it was free to ride all day Monday and Tuesday. We thought that would be fun to try it out. Being in Mormonville, we figured we would not be the only family going for family night, and we were correct. It was BUSY! We planned on leaving at 4:00 but in typical fashion, we left at 4:30.
We packed a picnic dinner to eat in SLC but since we arrived at the station just as a train was leaving and had a 1/2 hour wait, and since the kids were all hungry, all but my dad and I at their dinner at the station while waiting for the train. (J brought his best friend along with him-in the center of him and CE)
More eating at the station---
Here is the train. This is actually the one we came home on---but it looks the same as the one we went on!
It was standing room only. Dad had a seat offered him when we got on and CD sat on his lap. About half way to SLC some people got off freeing 2 seats right by J. He quickly slid in with his friend saving them for me and the girls (we squeezed) to come up from behind them and sit. Thanks J!
After getting of the train in SLC we walked a few blocks to the Gateway.
Posing at the Gateway...
We all got an ice-cream cone or sundae while at the Gateway
This is the crew before getting on the train back home.
Channel 13 news was on hand reporting at the station--L was so hyper and excited that they were there. We all waved to the camera.

On the ride home -- also standing room only---dad, all three girls and I all had a seat from the start. The boys quickly got one also. From Layton on we all sat together even! The train is a double decker, I took this picture of J sitting on the upper deck while I was seated in the middle level. The train has an upper level and a lower level but on the ends of each car, there is a middle section.
