Visitors are the BEST!

The hospital stay was short, but we had a few visitors. Rachel and Becky Larsen stopped by (Rachel has been staying on the labor and delivery floor for 4 weeks now, and has a baby due in 12 weeks) Staying on bed rest in the hospital has got to be miserable for her, but it was fun to see her and Becky and show off our little man to them. (I didn't get any pictures of them).
Our good friends the Dehners kept my big boys all day while my Mom and Taylor waited with me, for Sam to be born (seemed like it took FOREVER!) I was so thankful to EVERYONE that offered to help out. The Dehners kind of take care of us out here and I was thankful they were feeding my boys, including Taylor, while I was enjoying the hospital food. (I actually really like the food -- anything I don't have to prepare I guess)

Morgan was pretty excited to hold the new baby and Jake really wanted to be in the picture with her. I think it's pretty sweet.
And, Carolee stopped by after her husband had taken my boys sledding all day (Taylor is out of town interviewing again). That's nice when the dad volunteers to take your boys!
Elaine stopped by bearing gifts and food!
Besides those I've captured in pictures, we've had a lot of help with people taking my kids to and from lessons and parties, and many phone calls with congrats and best wishes. I appreciate all the love and support I've felt these last couple weeks. THANK YOU!!

Spending Time With Grandma

We made it home and I was pampered while little Sam was taken care of by Grandma. She bathed Sam, and rocked him, read stories to the big boys..best of all, I still have yet to change a diaper -- wihoo. :)

He's pretty cute, but hasn't learned to love those baths yet!
It's always sad when it's time to go. My mom was here for 10 days helping organize my house and taking care of us the first few days -- I loved having her here. I think I would have really lost it, except my sister came the night before my mom left and gets to stay here for a week!!

My sister and Mom -- aren't they great! I'm glad I don't have to say goodbye to everyone JUST yet.

24 hours is up -- and we out of the HOSPITAL

We had the little guy on Monday night and by Tuesday night we were ready to try this parents of 3 thing on our own. As you can see from the picture -- I will have my hands full with these boys. But, I'm getting more and more excited about it.

My mom made this darling blanket and got matching cloths for all the boys. Jacob and Luke could not WAIT to wear their matching outfits with the baby.

And we are off! Our little family of five is pretty fun.
I am so glad I'm going home to my mom who will be the entire hospital staff to me for the next few days. What a life saver!

He Is HERE!

We are READY....

So apparently, this kid did not want to come on his own! Look -- I'm 2 days overdue and from the picture you can tell it doesn't look like he is going to be a small boy. We were off to our 8am induction.

When we got there I was already dilated to a 4 and they all thought I'd be holding a baby in just a couple hours.
Hooked up and ready....

And still waiting...
While we are waiting, a funny story: The doctor came and checked me around noon and said the baby was grabbing her hand. Apparently, he had his hand up on top of his head. Funny, creepy, and cute all at the same time.

7 hours later we did get our big boy! He is sooo sweet. Take a look at some of the first few hours of his life --
Our Doctor "Kathryn Pool," and nurses at the OSU hospital were WONDERFUL!! Here is a couple pictures of our Doctor in the green scrubs.
I was sooo glad my mom came out for the delivery. We thought I'd have him a few days earlier, but instead of sitting around complaining -- I put my mom to work! We painted 5 rooms in my house, decorated our bathroom, cleaned and organized EVERYTHING! I'm sure she was more than excited for the baby to come -- mostly so I wouldn't be a slave driver. But, it has been sooo nice not to worry about the things we did for now that the baby is here. THANKS mom -- I LOVE YOU!

Jake and Luke came up to the hospital that night. They were so excited. Jake kept talking in a really high voice and even when we tried to get him to talk normal he couldn't. It was pretty cute. He is going to be a great big brother!
All through this pregnancy, every time Luke wanted me to hold him, I'd say, "I'm already holding a baby in my tummy, I can't hold two." So, of course the first thing he says at the hospital is, "YOU can hold ME now!" He's gonna have a little harder adjustment than Jacob. :)
Both the boys love to hug and kiss him -- great for germ spreading -- what ya gonna do!!

Bringing in the New Year!! 2009

So after our Christmas visits in St. George and Bountiful.. we headed back down to St. George to celebrate the oncoming new year.

We had a fun "First Night" experience with bouncy houses, glow sticks and fireworks.

Then we went back to my mom's house and played games and drank Tara's yummy hot chocolate until the midnight hour -- all the kids actually stayed awake for it! Thank heavens for Gestures to pass the time. :)
Taylor had interviews the first week of January in San Fransisco and I decided it would be much more fun for me to be hanging out with my family then in Ohio by myself!! The weather finally started to warm up in St.George and we took advantage of the sun to go hiking on the red hill. This is one of our favorite things to do in SG.

Jake loves his cousin Gavin (AKA Gavie in our house). What handsome boys.

This is why I want to be close to family -- Uncle Rick holding Ellie (just as comfortable as she would be with her dad). So sweet.

My nieces and nephews had a little fetish with Indians. My mom made them these outfits and now Jake and Luke are begging for some!
Heather thought it very important to get some GOOD shots of my belly ...

Pretty gross huh? However, it will all be worth it when we get to finally meet this little guy in there -- He is coming to a great family of cousins and grandparents who are more than excited to welcome him in in the world!! Only 3 weeks to go!
