Says in the bible that "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God!"

Let's build our first love on God
1) His Word,
2) the Holy Spirit and
3) Prayers

These really are the basics in knowing God... :D

So for this week....


WEEK 15

This week, we look at part of Paul's letter where he addresses an issue which was very much on the minds of the Roman church and that seems to be some uncomfortable relations between the "Jewish Christians" and the "Gentile Christians". We are all familiar that in any community - including the church - that there can be some who don't see eye to eye. It was very much worse in Paul's day with the Jews having to cope with the inclusion of outsiders into God's family. In the days of the Old Testament, the Jews had exclusive access to a special relationship with God. But after Jesus, the doors were opened and the Gentiles began to follow Jesus as well.

Paul says he has great sorrow that many of his "race" have rejected Jesus and are clinging to their old ways under "the law", while at the same time, many Gentiles are entering into a knowledge, relationship and service of God. Paul again says that righteousness before God for everyone who believes, and it comes by faith not by works (meaning we can not work to earn our relationship). Paul hopes that the Gentiles' example will be an inspiration to the hard hearted of Israel. He uses the imagery of them being branches grafted on to a tree. They should be grateful, not boastful or arrogant.

We conclude the week with Paul beginning on some practical ways that the believers should behave and live. He urges them not to conform to the world but rather to serve, work, love and share. He urges the believers to live in harmony and not be conceited. This message will continue next week.

The Psalms again are a heartfelt cry to God and a tirade against evil.

It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
