Something Borrowed, Something Blue...

Hello, dear friends! I wish you a warm and happy welcome on this wonderful day. It's an exciting day for me as I'm sharing a project on the Maja Design Blog

It's almost June, a huge month for weddings. As a June bride myself, I can attest to having the traditional 'something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue' for good luck before taking my stroll up the aisle. Maja Design's gorgeous Vintage Autumn Basics collection inspired this 'Something Borrowed, Something Blue' card for an upcoming bridal shower.

One of the many things I love about Maja Design papers is the fact that the same piece of paper can inspire endless creativity. You need only to gaze upon the beautiful designs and your imagination runs wild. Also, the collections may be named for seasons or themes, but each is perfect for any time of the year. My advice is to stock up on ALL of them!

The papers are distressed, layered, and stitched to form the base. Blue and ivory are present in multiple patterns and tones.

The flowers are handcrafted from design paper (there is a tutorial on my blog). A resin frame, a twine bow, a scattering of pearls, and an antique pearl earring also adorn the base.

A little butterfly also found it's way into the floral spray.

If you aren't sure where to find these lovely papers, just click on the 'store finder' tab at the top of the Maja Design Blog to locate a retailer. Thank you so much for stopping by. Your visit makes my heart happy! I wish you a day filled with joy and many crafty endeavors!

Hugs,

'Now is the Time' Card!

Hello, my friends! I'm sharing a new card on this beautiful day over at the Maja Design Blog

I'm reflecting on time this week, as my youngest child  is about to graduate from university. How did all of those years slip away so quickly? They truly did fly by. I'm reminded to savor each precious moment, for time is a gift and memories are treasures. I'm drawing my inspiration for this card from Maja Design's gorgeous Vintage Autumn Basics collection.

I begin by distressing, layering, and stitching design papers to form a base. All of the embellishments for this card are die cut from the Vintage Autumn Basics Collection. A double layer of vintage die cut clocks anchor the floral arrangement.

I have a tutorial for these roses here on the  Maja Design Blog
Below, a border punch adds a lovely touch to strips of design paper. In the bottom corner you'll find a stamped sentiment.

A twine bow ties everything together with a feminine flare.

Thank you so much for visiting! I'm always excited when it's my turn to join y'all. May each moment of your day be filled with beauty and crafty adventures!

Hugs,

Autumn Elegance with Maja Design

Hello and welcome, my friends!  I hope you're having a wonderful day.  I have a brand new card for Maja Design to share with you.

The promise of autumn is in the air. To quote my favorite bear, Winnie the Pooh, it's a time for 'hot chocolatey mornings and toasting marshmallow evenings'.  In honor of this glorious season I'm opening my stash of Vintage Autumn basics.

The lovely papers are distressed, stitched, and layered. Foam tape adds dimension to the torn strips on the right, forming a base for the floral embellishments. The two large flowers are handmade using design paper. The resin frame is a very happy surprise, found hidden away in my stash.

There's a bit of stamping in opposite corners and on the inside of the card.

Paper flowers from my flower basket and some natural twine are added alongside the handcrafted blooms. Below is a little peek inside the card.

Maja Design 'Time Began in a Garden' Card

I wish a warm welcome to all of my crafty friends! I hope you're enjoying a lovely day. Spring has finally arrived in my corner of the world, and I hope it's making it's way to yours as well.

I still have to pinch myself whenever I post a project for Maja Design! Today I'm sharing a miniature rose garden card featuring some of the gorgeous blues of the Vintage Autumn Basics collection.

Y'all know I'm in love with flowers, and there's no better way to bring the garden in your minds eye to life than with Maja Design papers!

The papers are distressed, stitched, and layered to form a base for the card. All of the embellishments (except the pearls and small tulips) are created using the paper collection. The clock and flourish in the left corner are fussy cut and popped up with foam adhesive.

The frame to the right was cut using a Marianne Creatables die. It's actually beautifully embossed, but I couldn't get the camera to pick it up.

The roses and leaves are handcrafted from the paper collection, with clusters of tiny glass pearls scattered throughout.
