After having had a long day on the 25th May, from being on the bus for 8 hours to walking randomly around Sibu at night to sleeping in the same room with a rabies-infected person and ended up being complained of noisiness, the second day finally arrived – the start of our actual programmes.
We’d begun the day by waking up to Marilyn’s alarm (it’s the Don’t Cha song =.=’’) but then it still seemed quite early… so we went back to zzz… Then suddenly, Mdm. Tan called…
Mdm Tan: Hai! Wake up already?
Me: (terpaksa answer the phone coz the phone was put on my side =.=’’) No…
Mdm Tan: All still sleeping?
Me: Ya…
Mdm Tan: Ok la. I don’t disturb you people. I call to kacau! (hangs up)
Me: O_o’’
Amanda: *sleepily* Who?
Me: Your mother… she called for fun. +__+’’
Then we went back to sleep again…
Marilyn: EH! SO LATE LIAW! PENG! I SET 5 ALARMS BUT I OFF-ED THEM ALL!
=.=’’ And she was waiting for the second alarm to ring. Lol! Mdm. Tan called again after awhile…
Mdm Tan: Hey, we’re going breakfast! You people ready?
Me: Yup… we’re all ready… except for your daughter!
Amanda just walked out of the bathroom. Lol. We then met up with the rest at the lobby and then went for breakfast. We’d walked past many stalls but couldn’t decide which to settle in. Teachers suggested we eat in different shops so that food would come faster so Amanda, Marilyn, Andrea, Yet Soong, Yet Mian and I ended up in one stall together while the teachers ate in a stall opposite us while the others ate at yet another stall next to the teachers.
Sibu Kopitiam - Amanda sien liaw
Us at the stall…
Mdm Euphrasia: You people want to Kampua mee?
Us: Yes! We want! (looks around…) But here like no kampua leh…
The shop’s man: GOT! We got kampua! Sit! SIT!
Us: Err…
Teacher: If got, then you people sit la. We eat opposite. ;)
Us: Ok lor. *sits* We want 5 Kampuas with soy sauce, 1 with “kiaw” and 1 original one.
The shop’s man: Ha? Kiaw?
Andrea: Neh… the dumpling “pau” meat one…?
The shop’s man: (blur)
Yet Soong: Wanton?
The shop’s man: Oh! We don’t call it “kiaw” here la! We call it “piknik” (lol. Don’t know how to spell)
But anyway, the guy thought we wanted to order another bowl of wanton so we gave up ordering in the end and just requested for normal Kampua. After 5 minutes, 10 minutes… our food was still nowhere to be seen. Even the teachers who had arrived at the other stall later that us had had their food! That’s when we witnessed the funniest thing. =P
We saw… the lady from our stall… crossing the road… placed an order… and ended up carrying 6 plates of Kampua from the other side. PENG!! We might as well have joined the teachers like that!
Andrea: (taking video) Hey! Look! Kampua crossing road!
Lol! After breakfast, we boarded a school bus and went to visit the first school in Sibu – SMK Sacred Heart.
Sacred Heart's Straight As students
Amanda: If only school got that! Our faces would be all in ar. :D
Die not vain, man, that girl. Amanda Voon’s reputation is her most utmost priority and she fears losing her looks (she has no fear of losing her job, her friends and her health) =.=’’
Anyhoo! SMK Sacred Heart has like the hugest hall!
Their hall can fit 10 badminton courts =.=''
It was very impressive. We’d listened to them talking about their school and their prefectorial board scares me. +_+’’
Prefects on duty must have 2 pens! Kurang 1 – hukum 1 surat
Late for duty – hukum 1 surat!
Peng. Peng. Peng. Got push ups as punishments one some more!
Our welcoming banner =DThings got lighter when we’d gone to SMK St. Elizabeth though, Sacred Heart’s sister school. Its students are almost like our students! =D So friendly! Hahaha!
See, they had even prepared a lion dance performance for us! =D Almost like our band. Haha.
.........
And this is err… I just thought that it is an interesting picture to post. =P
Then, after watching their Tarian Semut Eliza, we went to their mini theatre (THEY HAD A THEATRE OK! WITH AIR CON!) where we learnt more about their school and surprising, our school too.
Mr. Teo: Your girls, back in the olden days, were called “Red Ants”. Our girls, back in the olden days, were called “Teddy Bears”! Because of their brown colour uniform you see!
We all went… O_O’’ seriously?
Their mini theatre (Marilyn ar... =.='')
I really admire their school because they had really put an effort to welcome us. They had even prepared an exhibition for us and asked some girls to dress up in their old uniforms just to display for us. Aww… so nice!
Jalur Gemilang made of sea shells
We had also visited their Koperasi. They are really very proud of their logo – the Eliza Red Ant. They had even made Eliza toys to be sold. Syafiqa had bought one – the only one among us to have bought it – and had passed it around to be signed by everybody.
Then we took a tour around the school. I’d realised that their school, much like our school, also pastes inspirational quotes around their school, except they had more quotes and that their quotes are more entertaining. =P
Mdm Euphrasia: Eh Lip Yi! You should read this!
Mdm Euphrasia: So what should a lady do, Lip Yi?
Amanda: Yes, Lip Yi? What should a lady do? :P:P
Very funny hor! Just because I’m accident-prone. Hmph. =P
Anyway, as we explored the school even more, we came across a funny corner. I think all all-girls school should have this corner. :P
Wahahaha! And how ironic… right next to the notice board is long mirror. =.=’’ I think they are promoting vanity. Lol!
So we be vain also lor… haha!
St. Elizabeth was really so kind that they had even prepared a lunch for us. Their food was really nice, some more! The principal had even given us some key chains and “kong pias” as souvenirs. SO KIND LA! =D
That lunch was also some sort like a bonding session. The students there converse mainly in Mandarin though. Luckily my Mandarin isn’t that bad. :) We’d even asked them if they knew any other shopping malls that we could go besides San Yan. Lol! They talked about Premier Mall but even until the end of the trip, we were never there. (but we did go there with the choral speaking team =D)
In conclusion, St. Elizabeth is a great school. =D Haha.
Someone I forgot who: SLIPPERS! SO CHEAP! RM 4 ONLY! LET’S ALL BUY!
Amanda footing the billI think at that time, we were all a bit obsessed at getting the same thing. O_o’’
Anyway, when we went back to the hotel, we saw Mr David who had sms-ed Mdm Tan earlier asking if he could tag along with us to Bukit Aub that afternoon. We had like the funniest talk eh. Hehehe.
Bukit Aub is like a much, much nicer version of our Reservoir Park.
As we were on the bus, there were talks about the existence of a “Qing Ren Qiao” (Lovers’ Bridge) in Sibu. Then don’t know why everybody was so interested. -.-‘’
Someone: *sees a bridge* Is the Qing Ren Qiao?
Mr David: No.
Someone: *sees another bridge* Is that is?
Mr David: No.
Someone: Where is Qing Ren Qiao ar?
Mr David: It’s a bridge that people simply name one ok!
Someone: *sees yet another bridge* IS THAT QING REN QIAO?
Mr David: No! Don’t call every bridge you see Qing Ren Qiao ok!
Lol! Anyway, here’s Bukit Aub. =)
Bukit Aub
The scenery is nice right? Mr David said that there is a pondok high up in the park where we could see a bird’s eye view of Sibu.
So the four of us tagged along with him and climbed up a loooonnnggg flight of steps. Some people gave up followed at first but gave up halfway. Haha. But most headed straight to the Qing Ren Qiao. =.=’’
Climbing the stairway to heaven
Mr David: Got 2 steps, which one you want to take? One is faster because it’s steeper. The gradient is higher! Another one the gradient is lower but it’ll take more time la.
Peng! Still got heart teach us Physics in a PARK! We chose the gradient that’s smaller of course – less tiring bah! =P
And finally, we reached the pondok. So happy! Our hard work ar! Haha. The first thing that me and Andrea did was take photos of the surroundings. There was nothing much to see actually. The only thing that’s cool was the fact that we were all so high up. I wonder if that was really stable though. Hahaz. I forgot who le… but that person was like jumping, jumping there, trying to test the pondok. =.=’’ I think I was one of them. Hahahaha!
It was quite a high feeling up there. Can even go ‘’pak toh’’ there eh. Lol! So lame lar! :P
We all wore our trademark, cheapskate slippers that afternoon. They were sooo soft ok! So nice to wear! When people buy cheapskate stuff, they normally would like to keep it a secret but we were actually showing off how cheap they were! +___+’’
Notice the sesated pair of shoes again
But we didn’t stay up there for so long la. What was there to do there right? So, we went down after awhile and headed for the Qing Ren Qiao also. Lol!
Mr David: Ah yo! I go there with 4 girls – don’t know what sort of chemical reaction will come out from this!
PENG!
Going down from heaven to lovers' bridge
When we got there, I found out that the Qing Ren Qiao is actually a hanging bridge. *gasp*
The teachers and some students were standing at the side, not daring to walk there. I would have stayed there with them if the rest the people didn’t chiong-ed to the bridge and cam-whored there. =.=''
THEN THEY VERY FUNNY YOU KNOW!
Mr David: Come la! It’s very stable one! The engineers calculated properly already! *jumps*
Marilyn: Ahahahah! *jumps*
Amanda: *jumps*
Andrea: *jumps*
Estella: *jumps*
Me: =__________=’’’’’’
Sweat… I nearly died. Terrible people…
We finally got away from the stupid bridge after getting sick of camwhoring so we went down to the café where we saw Mr Teo and Mdm Euphrasia feeding fish. +_+’’
Me: Wah, teacher! You buy so big one packet of food!
Mdm Euphrasia: Ya! My second one already!
O_O’’’ So huge eh that packet! Then, Mdm Tan also bought one huge packet like that for us. =D So we had a fight with the teachers – see who get more fish. Lol!
Us: Come fishy! Come! *scatter food* Come~ Come~ Come~
Teachers: *selamba sahaja watch us die die chase fish*
Us: Wahahahah! WE GOT MORE ALREADY!
Mdm Euphrasia: You got more, but ours fatter! We got the fatter fishes! Hahahaha!
Us: Get that big big one! Come~ Come~ Come~~~ *scatter food like there’s no tomorrow*
Lol. We managed to lure their big fishes over btw. Hehe. But then… all the fat fishes look so gross lar. =.=’’
But then, no wonder they grow so big… sakai people keep visiting them and feeding them like crazy eh. =P
But the fish food was very smelly! So after we finished that packet we didn’t want to play anymore so we went to eat at the café. We had some coconut and rojak while discussing where to eat dinner that night. Mr David suggested Taman Muhibbah. He said over there, there are plenty of nice foods. =D Luckily teachers agreed to bring us there.
So we went back to the hotel to rest.
Very homey hor. I realise the four of us should never ever live together. :P Can suffocate ourselves to death.
We went down to the lobby late because my mum decided to call at the time when I was supposed to be taking my bath. So I spent like 10 minutes in the bathroom just talking and not bathing. =.=’’ Meanwhile hor, those 3 were outside camwhoring. Apalar…
I like Taman Muhibbah. The food there is so nice! Once again, the six of us (plus the twins) sat together. We’d ordered our own food – Amanda and I shared one plate of err… either bee hoon or kueh tiaw, I forgot eh. I only remember I had to eat all the taugehs. +_+’’ Andrea and Marilyn also shared another plate. Yet Mian had Lo Mee while Yet Soong had… I forgot what. We had also ordered a plate of fried sotong and ikan bakar.
They had the nicest fried sotong and ikan bakar there ok! Like Demie during RainFest, I have an ‘’ying xiang’’ (Ah Jo’s words) of me ordering another plate of it. Haha.
They also had nice Shui Guo Ping (Fruit Ice). It’s nicer and CHEAPER than ais kacang. Conclusion: Sibu has nice food too. =)
After our not-so-scrumptious-but-still-very-nice dinner, we went back to our hotel. Once again, out of convenience, we visited Sanyan. We went down to Giant’s to refill our supplies of junk food because we were to have our own breakfast tomorrow. We could walk to some nearby shops but since we are all very lazy people and wanted to sleep until later, we decided that we would just eat mee cup in the hotel or something.
That night, we set ourselves on a mission – a mission we failed to accomplish the night before. :P
At 10 something, I picked up the phone and phoned Room Service. Some person answer and I pressed an order for a Seafood Bistro Pizza worth about RM 36. Quite costly la but our theory was that when we were out with our parents, they never wanted to order Room Service SO we must do it then (now or never. Haha!)
The pizza had arrived at 11. Normally we would all be jumping but that day, we were all so tired we had fallen asleep even before the pizza was up. The poor guy had to ring our doorbell for don’t know how many times before Andrea woke up. I only woke up when I heard her and Amanda talking loudly to the man.
Because at that time it was quite late already and none of us alert, we forgot to take a picture of the nice pizza. It was damn nice ok! We only devoured the pizza, stopping at times only to compliment how nice it is. Then, straight after eating, we went back to sleep.
It came out sounding rather barbarian. Haha. Anyway, that was the end of our second day in Sibu. =)
