Setting foot in Sibu for the first time ;)

This is random but I just feel like writing. For starters, I'm back from Sibu. Sibu is, in short, *both thumbs up* It's small and has flocks and flocks of black birds flying about in the sky every day, it actually scares Andrea a little bit. I think it's the after effect of the horror-but-not-so-horror movie we watch on our first night there. ;)

I was in Sibu for 4 days and 3 nights. We'd stayed at the RH Hotel and I was placed in Room 406, along with Andrea, Marilyn and Amanda. Our room was, in Amanda's words, like shit. I have no choice but to agree. Take a look. =P

Our rubbishes

It was so messy that things either went missing or nearly went missing. Two key chains, Amanda's big comb and some money miraculously disappeared without a trace in the room. Even shirts, socks and phones were on the verge of going missing. =.='' Cannot live like this anymore, man - can die ar. Imagine everyday having to scream "Where's my phone!?" or "Where my other sock!?". Giler... Haha!

Amanda: I lost my shirt....
Me: What shirt? Shirt also can lost wan meh?
Amanda: Neh... my white "Perth, Australia" shirt...

Me: Aiya! That one not lost la! I saw it on the bed just now! *flips the bed sheets around* NAH! *throws the shirt at her*

Trying hard to clear our miserable room and hoping to recover some lost stuff..

Me: (on the second day) Eh? Where the other side of my socks?
Marilyn: (on the forth day) WHOSE SOCK!?! (found on the bed -___-''')
Andrea: Eeeeee! We've been sleeping on socks!
Me: o_O'' EH! How did it get there? SO FAR AWAY FROM WHERE I PUT MY STUFF!

Ahahaha..... See how hopeless we are..... and we didn't allow housekeeping because we were so ashamed of our room's conditions. =.=''' (which made everything worst la. haha!)

But other than that, things are pretty fine - maybe a little extreme on some levels - but still fine. =) In four days, we'd:

1. Got complained for being too noisy and was asked to "slow down"

2. Had a RM 32 room service menu pizza for supper (It was nice ok!)

3. Played Police and Thief with teachers in the pool (this one memang extreme +_+'')

4. Ate a meal for expensive than the teachers (RM 10 more expensive. Lol!)

5. Nearly got ourselves lost, Amanda and I

6. Prank-called Amy and had a heck of a time laughing about it ;p

Yeaa.... all in good times. ;) Will update on the trip when I got the pictures from Andrea.

Oh, oh, oh, wait. I just have one more thing to say - Amanda has bad karma.

Prefects' Telematch

My back aches. I think I'd bruised it internally (since there is no visible bruise there) from the constant ramping of my back against the canteen benches of St. Joseph. My legs are weak too, probably from all the running. And my head hurts a little. That might be from the kick I received to my head. =.=''

Anyway, this morning was the Prefects' Interschool Telematch. Started off with some ice breaking.

Kher Ching: Can you break dance?
Me: Me? NO..!
Kher Ching: *desperate* Dance? Dance!
Me: *simply throw a move* Nah...
Kher Ching: AH! CAN! Sign!
Me: O_o'' Cannot la!!!!

Luckily I didn't sign because later on, they actually called out the person and asked them to demo their skills. Hahahahaha! Phew~

But then again... I did sign another thing though...

Natalie: Are you attracted to someone here?
Me: No... aiya! Nevermind la! Just sign! You sign for me!
Natalie: OK!
*we sign*

Minutes later, the guy was checking some of the people's papers and actually called them out and asked who they are attracted to. =.='' Luckily he didn't called any of us, man. Haha. St Teresa was disqualified because Kim didn't know how to do the Chicken Dance. =P And St Joe was disqualified because all the names were from St Joe. Ahha... Funny... Lol! Disqualified together-gether. =P

After that, we were broken down into groups and were led of to our respective areas of challenge by our facilitator. Our first game was Crossing The River. Not so bad la. We lost. Haha! And then there was the err... Roll The Tennis Ball (?) game. Lol. This one wasn't so bad also. It was actually rather amusing.... when I didn't lose sight of the ball. Thinking back, it was quite funny la. :P We actually berpusing-pusing looking for the then cursed ball. When that was over, we went to the Ping Pong game! =D That's my favourite game. =P I don't know how to explain the game so... I'll just get to the next game. The next one was the Tali-tali Game. Kelvin calls it Tali Square... As in Tali to the power of 2 (nerd by nature =P). We filled 5 bottles altogether.

Then there was a short break before we resume our games again. This time it was some sort of an obstacle course in the canteen. This is where I'd ramped my back repeatedly against the benches. Anyway, there was this one part where the bench was tilted and I was helping my team members to climb up by extending my hand. So there I was... helping one after another as everyone came like a train of ants....

Me: *helping people.... Erica, Yet Mian, Samantha, etc..*
(Amanda appears)
Me: *walk away*
Amanda: WOI! Lip Yi haa!!!

=P In my defense, she wasn't in my team!

That was basically the climax of that game. Well... that and the part where I got kicked in my head by Morgan. -___-'' Amanda's karma, I suppose.

Anywaayyyy.... after that was the spin spin spin and fill the bottle thingy. I didn't like that. I got pretty wet from it too. Anyhoo, after that was the transferring water balloon thingy. I had to hug Erica because we were of different heights. "Bonding". Luckily Erica didn't go sensitive on me. Hehe... It seems I am pretty lucky today! =D And after that was the carrying the stick thing. Erica became the princess while we carry her about. Nothing so fun. It was hard work actually. The stick and Erica ain't so light. But we won that thing and I think that was the end. I think... I can't remember. I hope I got the sequence right.

As 12.30 came near, we were rushed to the field for a final photo taking session. We stood in the field under the block for our pose and guess what... there was a conspiracy! They threw buckets of water down after 3! Eeeee.... Haha!

There was the Tug-O-War after that but I just went home coz my car was there. So yeah. Telematch wasn't so bad! =D

I'm going to Sibu tomorrow. Whheeee~!! I haven't packed yet. Tee hee.

Andrea just called and asked me to bring cards. =D

My Sweet 16 =)

Yesterday, Andrea gave me a Doodolls toy as a belated birthday present. I'd seen one like that last year and thought of buying it because it had looked so miserably dumb but it was too expensive so I left it. But Andrea bought me a smaller version of it yesterday. =) Thank you~! =D

Indescribable toy

It's called Cupido, by the way. Haha!

Anyway, I remembered that I haven't written anything about my birthday yet! *gasp*

So, let's talk about my birthday! Haha!

Sports' Day this year had fallen on my birthday so the sky was extra clear that day (thanks to the fact that it's like... 3 people's birthday on that day!)

The pretty, pretty sky on my birthday ;p

As usual, there was the band march past. I got plenty of birthday wishes from the band. =D Thank you~

Band marching

And this girl had successfully led the band on my birthday. I feel so honoured. =D

Drum major of the day =D

Esme and Deb had appeared along the way. Deb had wanted to take people out for breakfast but I couldn't follow her because I had an event - thanks to her la. Lol!

Oh! And Karen was back!

Me: You're back! For my birthday!
Karen: Yea! When's your birthday?
Me: Today!

Lol! Very lame la. =.=''

Proof that Karen was back - taller than ever =p

So I stayed in Jubilee Ground while the others went for breakfast.

Then it was time for my event! So I made my way to the starting place and waited under the RC umbrella while waiting for the track to clear - some other events were still taking place. I shouted for anyone that I know. =) Francoise, who was under the tent with me, still refuse to admit what day it was, I remember. Haha. She was trying to be mean!

Soon, it was time for my event. I got onto the track and got ready.... I was so nervous that I made a false start for the first time in my life. And nearly got myself disqualified - on my birthday.

-__________-''

Ahahahaha.... hopeless case.

Oh wells... running was never my forte.

So I could bid goodbye to all these pretty, cheapskate, RM 3 worth of medals.

They all cost RM 3 only - honest!

Andrea got a bit emotional for me.

She'd felt so sorry that I couldn't win a medal on my birthday she tried to jump down from the viewing place as a protest.

Awwww~~

Andrea's violent protest

Her actions may have seemed rather stupid but it did work!

It got me a GOLD MEDAL!

Andrea's protest got me a bling bling

See? Lol. I'm forever indebted to Andrea. Hahahahaha!

Anyway, after my oh-so-very-fast running, my head got a bit giddy as I staggered to my seat and nearly vomited. So Amanda, Marilyn, Andrea and Erica took me to the shops nearby to chia me ice kacang and laksa. =D They knew I love free food!

But then, soon it was lunch time. Deb had once again offered to drive us for lunch but since I'd already booked a seat in Hai Pa Wang with teacher (got crabs =P), I didn't follow. Andrea went while Amanda, Marilyn and I went to Hai Pa Wang for lunch.

Glorious food! ... and Amy

The lunch was supposed to cost me RM 10 but then... since it was my birthday, teacher was sooo kind.... she chia-ed me! LOL! I am forever grateful. T_T

And then, since it was my birthday again, the two cousins shared with me their crabs because I didn't order crab. And the teachers who were unable to finish their crabs also offered their leftover crabs to us. Hahaha!

The Voons enjoying their craps... I mean, crabs

They wished me happy birthday too. ;)

I love my birthday. =D Free food everywhere. (oohh.. that rhymes! =.='')

When we got back to Jubilee Ground, Deb and Esme were already back. So while waiting for a plan to come up, we camwhored around by doing silly poses.

Meanwhile, two weird people decided to go sun tanning.

Sun tanning in Jubilee Ground

They rasa ang moh. Haha.

But since they are not ang moh... one of them sun tan sampai jatuh pengsan.

waPeng.

She nearly died from sun tanning

-_____________________-'''

And while those people were sun tanning and fainting, some were dancing in another place while singing:

Apple-bottomed jeans~
BOOBS with the fur~
The whole club's looking at her~

Even the teachers who were sitting there just trying to cool themselves were amused. Hahaha!

The entertainers

We left shortly after that... after camwhoring for another 10 times with our fingers counting from 1 to 10.

Then we left in 2 cars - Deb's and Josephine's - to main LASER TAG!

For the first time in my life, I played Laser Tag and it was sooo gila!

Tasha and Amy's sister joined us. Deb, Esme, Marilyn, Andrea and I were in one team while Sui Hui, Caroline, Cynthia, Tasha and Amy's sister were in another team. Josephine had to rest from her near-fainting experience that morning. I was in the red team. Yeah!

I can't exactly remember what went on inside there because it was so dark! We kept bumping in each other. I remember Sui Hui was screaming like crazy inside there! Hahaha! And Tasha kept killing me. =.='' We have fought until we were both on our knees!

The Laser Tag team

But Laser Tag was fun. =D

We were all tired and sweaty after that so we just went back to Jubilee Ground, just in time to catch the teachers' 4x100m event.

Tee hee... it was so funny. Haha!!

Teachers warming up...

Making their way to the track...

And.. off they go running!

The teachers were also like us la! Lol! During warm-up, they were also jumping around and talking. Buahaha~!!

So funny. Hahahahahaha!

Anyway, after the event, we went to sit and talk with the teachers. =P

Us: Teacher, we saw you run! *grins*
Teacher: *smiles* Laugh at me ho! So bad!

Hahaha!!!

Andrea killed my face

And then, finally, it was time for the announcement of the winning team.

Sylvia (purple) house won.

But there is no picture of the winning house because the photographer is not from the winning house. Hahahahahahahaha! Too bad~ =P

The photographer's house - Connaughton

But nevertheless, my birthday had been fun. A lot of significant happenings had taken place on my birthday.

When I think of my 16th Birthday, I'll think:

1. Lysandra leading the band with the mace.
2. Playing Laser Tag.
3. A teacher chia-ing me lunch.
4. Hammering a crab for the first time (I was so lousy at it that Amanda "confiscated" the hammer from me and forbid me from ever using it again. =.='')
5. Those funny dances. ;)

Friends I love who celebrated my birthday with me =)

I hope my future birthdays will be as fun... if not fun-ner. =D

Thank you to those entertainers. Haha!

Mooting Compeition 2008

I finally got the moot pictures from Ru. ;)

On the 9th of May 2008 (a Friday), there were 2 papers that I was supposed to sit for - Biology paper 1 and Mathematics paper 2. But instead of making my way to class, I'd skipped it to go to the Resource Room.

Pak cik: Tsk tsk! Skip class ya?
Me: Ya!

And Puan Hajah who was sitting with him was like o_O'' Haha!

Anyways, my morning that day was spent with Olivia in the Resource Room, constantly timing and recording ourselves and asking each other questions.

Oh... and also some eating and camwhoring along that way, Tee hee.

Child suffering from ADD

That morning was so funny. Olivia read the wrong citations and I laughed. Hahahaha! Then, I got stuck when Olivia suddenly said, "I don't know what's 'But for' test! Can you explain?". I went O_O''' and she laughed.

Anyway, we left early and went to Holiday Inn that afternoon for our moot. I was the first one there, followed by Mei Theen who was a few seconds behind me and Olivia, more than one minute behind us. Then, we got a bit lost and turned one big round before we actually reached the Sadong Room (where the moot was held) and then, being amateurs, we decided to just hang outside and be barbarians (we.. ok lah, I, was talking loudly out of excitement) simply because we didn't dare to enter without teacher. Lol!

Teacher finally arrived after that and we registered ourselves. The form had no column for "Form 4". Haha. It started with Form 5... so we had to draw our own column.

Barbarians in Court =P

We were the first team to start off this year's competition with Tunku Putra so there weren't many people there to watch us... because they weren't allowed to watch before they have mooted. Hehe... so our viewing was rather private.

The viewers were only our teacher, our coach (who came in her working attire with a professional camera, we nearly mistaken her for media), some of our "konco" who were so supportive, they came in their school uniforms after sitting for Maths paper (Elaine, Maryann, Kim, Abigail, Lysandra), my parents and also some organising people.

Mingling with our konco

We were scheduled to start at 2.00 p.m. but at 2.00 p.m, the Tunku Putra people weren't even there yet. The ang moh judges were already there, being very friendly to us. The first thing they said to us when they entered was, "St Teresa's? I recognise the uniform!". Lol.

So while waiting for the Appellant team to arrive, we fooled around. Ru was busy playing and snapping pictures with her new "toy". And we would pose for her but then, she would roll her eyes, said, "Posers" and put down her camera. Hahaha!

Ru: *about to take picture*
Us: *suddenly realise and put up peace signs*
Ru: *puts down camera* Aiyo... I cannot take this.. my lens break later!

-___-''

Taking my "last drink"

The Tunku Putra were very late so the judges decided in the end that we would proceed without the Appellant team because there was going to be another moot after us at 3.00 p.m. so they couldn't wait very long.

And so... after sending Ru to sit somewhere that is not in our line of sight (but still a seat good enough for her to snap good photos =P), we started with Olivia, as the Senior Counsel, making her first submission.

"Take me Your Honour! I'm 15! Use me as your benchmark!"

That's Olivia being very passionate about her 15-years-old-is-more-mature-than-5-years-old argument. She stuck to that point until the very end. Haha.

The awkward brown box sitting on the table in front of Olivia is our self-made lectern. =P We suddenly realised in the middle of our meetings that we wouldn't have any lecterns during the competition because it was not held in High Court... so there... we made our own lectern! Lol! The passing of the lectern from the Senior Counsel to the Junior Counsel is always funny though. Hahaha!

Anyway, after Olivia was me, the Junior Counsel, to make my submission....

One thing I'd realised from that experience was that those papers sitting atop the "lectern" is merely for decorative purposes. The questioning took up most of the time. So pretty soon, it was all over~! The 10 minutes given just flew by!

Our judges - Professor Eric and Professor Libby

Then, there was the judges' feedback session. They spent quite long giving their feedback because they only had to feedback one team and the audience was very, very small. The first thing they'd said was, "Well! It seems we have very matured 15 years old with us!" Lol! They'd commented on Olivia's "slouching" and my random, out of the blue, consultation with Mei Theen. Other than that... I can't remember. Haha.

We stayed to watch the teams after us - Lodge International Team A (Appellant) and SMK Matang Jaya (Respondent). And that was it for Friday. We went back to school that night to talk with Azureen and Bethany about their moot the next day.

Azureen =)

I'd gone to Holiday Inn the next morning to a bunch of supporters. We had more supporters than the day before! =P But then... they were all the "konco" from Form 4... Hahaha! All the Form 4s were making their way in one after another so Azureen had to call her "konco" from Form 5 to rush them to come. Lol~

Among those konco present were Abigail, Kim, Maryann, Amanda, Marilyn, Andrea, Elaine, Kristen, Zahira, Aiman (!), Emily and also Olivia and I.

Azureen's team was first for Saturday with Chung Hua Middle School No. 1.

Trying to get comfortable...

The Chung Hua made their submissions first, followed by Bethany and Azureen.

I saw Ru laughing uncontrollably when Azureen used her fire analogy. Hahaha!

"A child of 5-6 would view fire as a pretty, shiny thing!"

Theirs was finished pretty soon also la. Aiman said it's boring! "Always talk only!" Lol! And then he asked... Bethany (I think...) why she is so short! Aiyooo! Hahahaha!

Us: Aimaannn~! You're not supposed to ask people that!
Bethany: It's in my genes!
Azureen: Come let ask you! Aiman, why are you so fat?
Aiman: I want my che che!

Aiman is so cute! Hahaha! We then stayed to watch Lodge Secondary Team A and SMK St. Thomas Team A and then we left for lunch, skipping the one with Lodge International Team B and SMK Matang Jaya Team B.

We had our lunch in McD... we wanted to do the Big Mac Chant but they ran out of coupons! =( Then some of them went off to catch a movie while some of us just went to walk. Amanda and I went to look for Teachers' Day present while Andrea and Marilyn went to look for Mothers' Day present. Haha. When our legs finally got tired, we went back to Holiday Inn and watched the moots that were held after lunch.

At about 3.15, the whole moots were over and it was then the time to wait for the announcement of the teams that entered the finals. But we had to wait for all teams to arrive so there was some time for us to yet play around... tee hee...

Kim was slapped in the process. Lol!

Francoise: (telling Ru a story about my blurness while throwing her hands around)

*pap!*

Kim: *shocked* You did not just slapped me!
Ru:*dropped to the floor laughing* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Gladys: Eh... coach ar!
Ru: This is why I warn you guys against the use of excessive gestures!

Note the height difference =P

Lol! It was so hilarious!

We took some more pictures and then the announcement time was finally there.

First team announced was Lodge International Team A for Appellant.... and they were to go against... also Team A from Respondent... SMK St. Teresa.

Olivia and I looked at each other for awhile.... and then we ran to Ru. Hahaha!

So that was how Olivia and I found ourselves submitting to the judges' again.

Olivia submitting again - no more slouching liaw =P

It was better this time. We've learnt the art of dodging the judges' questions. Though for Olivia, the judges kept directing her back every time she tried to move on.

I had better luck. The judges' questions are tricky!

Teacher also got stress for us

The moot soon ended and everything was already said and done. Ru's only words of encouragement were "It's over!". Lol.

So we went home, showered and went back to Holiday Inn for our dinner and announcement of winners.

Dinner was nice. I can't remember the last time I'd had dinner in Holiday Inn. Haha.

Anyway, the results: We got runner-up.

But it's ok. =) We'd tried and Olivia and I both won something. I guess to be able to make it to the finals is something rather remarkable already.

Goodbye, Gold Coast....~~

Us with our konco-konco =D

It's only a little bit sad that it's all ended. Those days were so fun!

So in conclusion, mooting is fun. ;p

Thank you to teachers, Ru and also our konco-konco. =D

Mooting

It's over!

It was fun! =D

What we did on the last meet =)

But that was fun-ner! =P

I remember standing there for like, 30 minutes, trying to start but I couldn't stop laughing. ;)

I will miss the meets. =(

Exercise yang tidak boleh tengok atau tanya kawan

Today thus enters the seventh day of my exams. I'd attended six out of that seven days. Never in my life have I ever left any blanks in my test papers until I entered Form 4. =.=''

But just on the brighter side, even though my iPIA Add Maths plan was a bit.. err... challenged, my Add Maths improved! Yay! Well... I'd only got back my paper 2 la. But still.. =) My marks is happifying enough. =D

This is random but yah... exam for me this time is just like exercise yang tidak boleh tengok atau tanya kawan. If I don't know how to do, it's either I simply hentam a ridiculous answer or I leave a blank. +_+''
