Check out the Gallery!

We are experimenting with a new gallery at My Scraps & More using Flickr. It is very user friendly and easy to navigate through. Plus there is a great iPhone app with it, too!

We would LOVE to have you come browse and even sign up and contribute!

1. Go to www.flickr.com and create an account. If you already have a yahoo account, you just use your yahoo login. You can also log in with Facebook, too.

2. Once you create an account, you can start uploading your photos to your photostream. If you want your photos to be seen by others, you need to make them "public". These public ones you can share in the My Scraps & More group (and any other group you wish to be a part of).

3. Next, you need to join the My Scraps Group: www.flickr.com/groups/myscrapsandmore/

4. Once you are a member of the My Scraps Group, you can add photos from your photostream to the group and share! You can leave comments, particpate in discussions, and LOTS more! You can also post your photos to your facebook page from there and lots of other social media things, too.

5. The benefit for the store is that anyone who searches for "scrapbook galleries" can find My Scraps & More (but everyone who contributes must be a member first).

6. NOTE: You will notice that there are no "albums" or categories for the layouts (i.e., no "Got Talent" album). Instead, you have to tag your photos with words that will be predetermined. For example, I tagged one of my pages with junechallenge. If you search for junechallenge, you will see all the pages with that tag. You can add as many tags as you want to your photos, BUT if we do a contest or challenge, we will give you a specific tag to use for that event. If you want to try tagging your photos, you can start with the tags: junechallenge and gottalent, if your photo applies to those categories.

I have been really into using my Silhouette lately to cut out some unique shapes to use on my pages.  I found this circle one with leave shapes cut out.  I backed some of the open spaces with patterned papers and then stitched around the outside of the circle.

There is a whole bunch of fussy cutting with the flowers, and then I layered some other die cuts and vellum pieces.

I've been doing a lot of color challenges lately, and this one was based on one at Color Me Scrappy.

Papers are from Glitz "Finnley", MME "Now & Then Mildred", and Crate Paper "Maggie Holmes Styleboard".

Sketchathon #28! Only 2 to go!

Well the sketchathon will soon be coming to an end, BUT you have until May 4th at midnight to upload your projects!

Here is today's sketch and the page I made using My Mind's Eye Milo & Izzy collections.

This is a pretty simple page for me.  I have REALLY been wanting to make a page with a circle shaped photo lately.  It is a bit of a challenge, but I like the outcome!

Speaking of My Mind's Eye, products from the new Necessities collections will be arriving this week! Do you like enamel dots?  Woodgrain prints?  Metallics? Vellum?  You MUST check out these lines!

Keep a lookout in the store this week!  :)

Fun new changes and some older stash...

Before I share some of the new changes happening with the store and blog, I wanted to quickly share a page I did for Throwback Thursday.  I used some old Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe collection (mostly because I knew it had a lollipop in it)!

I started by using some Gelatto's and water, and then going over it with a stencil and modeling paste.

Behind my photos, I added a few frame shapes cut from papers and just a few simple strips.

I layered lots of chipboard pieces, flair, and die cuts.

And my title I cut with my Cameo and outlined with a black pen.

Although we don't carry this Crate Paper collection any more, there are lots of other fantastic ones still available in the store! LOOK HERE.

Did you know that in addition to our Throwback Thursday Challenges that we also do a monthly S.O.S. group (Scrap Our Stash)!  Be sure to check it out on the forum HERE.

OK, a few new things:

Raffle Tickets:
Starting in February, for every $10 you spend in the store (after discounts), you will receive a raffle ticket with your order.  At the end of the month, I will draw a winning ticket and post it on the blog.  If you have the matching number, you will receive a $10 gift certificate to the store!

during the week and I will choose one random commentor to win!  However, your prize will now be a $10 gift certificate to the store so that you can choose the PRODUCTS YOU WANT!  Use your gift certificate in conjunction with sales to save, too!

A non-winter collection for a winter page..

I decided to try and use a non-wintry collection of papers for a snowy layout (not that I don't have a ton of winter/Christmas paper!).  And the My Mind's Eye "Collectable" collection was just right.  I used some softer greens and blues on my snowy page:

I created this page based on a sketch designed exclusively for the My Scraps & More sketch a thon by Diana Fisher!  You have to visit the forum HERE to see the sketch!

On the background, I added a thin layer of gesso and then used a Versamark pen and drew in some circles. I then covered them with gold embossing powder and heated.

I also stamped the snowflakes with a MME Collectable stamp set and heat embossed them in white and cut them out.  I added some epoxy circles to the centers and scattered them on the page.

The rest is just paper layers with some stickers, chipboard, die cuts, washi tape, and twine!

Hope you are enjoying the Sketch A Thon!

Audrey's MME Lost & Found Reveal

I am so behind on scrapping my Halloween photos, so I was really looking forward to working with a traditional Halloween color palette with these My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween papers!

This fist page has some photos from the pumpkin patch about 2 years ago.  I added some pattern to the background by swiping white paint and stamping with a doily image.  I had more photos than I wanted to put on the page, so I made a little folder to put the extras in.

On this 2nd page, I liked the contrast of the newsprint pattern banners on a busy background like the chevron.  I created some flow on the page by adding a large circle to ground my photos and some more small banners on the right side, too.

Lastly, I wanted to play a little with some of the drawn images on the papers, so I used some mists as watercolors and painted in a pumpkin, which I then fussy cut and popped off the front of the card.  I added a little witches hat to the pumpkin, too!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to the message board today for the start of our Trick Or Treat crop!  Don't be SCARED!!!!

Double the Fun

I wanted to share two double page layouts I made with the line Lime Twist from My Mind's Eye. You can find it here in the My Scraps and More store. these are pictures from my daughter Amory's birthday party and as usual I (and others) took alot of pictures. And I could not pick just a few so I need big layouts to showcase most of them!
I used double page layout sketches from Scrapbbok Challenges. Thank you Ginni for sharing this site with me!

And the second double page layout - of Amory's blowing out candles and making a wish! All of the paper and Happy Day diecut can be found in the My Scraps and More store here.

A Few More ...

I wanted to show you a few more projects I did using the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist papers that Tammi sent us. My daughter Amory is all about butterflies and the colors pink and purple. Although she says her favorite color is sparkle (girl after my own heart!). So I knew that I needed to make something for her room with the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist paper.
I fund these candle holder/wall sconces and one of my favorite thrift stores and I bought them on Wednesday so they half off! I also bought two drawer pulls from Hobby Lobby. How are these things going to make a coat hook might you ask?

Like this! I removed the mirror and mod podged paper onto them and put it back in. I removed all of the hardware from the drawer pulls and glued (E6000 adhesive) the drawer pulls into the candleholder. A little bling on the butterflies and flowers and we are done!
I did make two but they are exactly the same and I didn't want to bore you!

Next up I made a summer fun basket for Amory. On the first full day of summer after they get out of school I leave them a little treat - I will show you Priscilla's next week! Target clearance to the rescue! Everything - basket and all this project cost $2.00! The basket was a leftover from Easter at 90% off and all the craft supplies were in the dollar section at 70% off!
I took this basket and

created this! I replaced the broken handle with 26 guage wire wrapped in ribbon. And then I covered the sad and half wiped away lamb with My Mind's Eye Lime Twist paper, diecut, and a sticker.
I think Amory will love it!
