Inkspirational Challenges - Leap

We've got an extra day this year ...29th February ...so our challenge at Inkspirational is 'Leap'.

For my DT card I used a leaping frog (MFT) , coloured with Promarkers. The clouds along the bottom are Avery Elle and the stars are Pink Fresh. I added a sentiment by Waffle Flower and some glitter drops.

What do we think of Tottenham?*

(* My son supports another team and this question is part of a chant...the answer is not complimentary!)

My partner's step-dad is 80 next week and my partner asked if I could make a card with a football theme - his favourite team is Tottenham Hotspur.

I designed and cut this box card on my Silhouette Cameo digital cutter. As a basis, I used a blank box card file by SVG cuts and added my own embellishments  - a football, the sentiment, numbers and the cock from the Spurs logo (I found the logo online and traced it in Silhouette Studio).

Going Dutch

Have I mentioned that I like challenging challenges? !  I was browsing the challenge lists at Paper Playful the other day and spotted one I've not heard of before: Two Sisters on the Blog and their current challenge is 'Dutch'.

Now, Google kindly automatically translated the website into English for me, but I suspect the original language was Dutch, so this is pretty high risk, making a Dutch-themed card for a Dutch challenge...!

The jar of tulips, the circle with flower on it and the sentiment,  were all from the same set. I tried to make the circle look like a window and, by the power of masking, put an MFT windmill outside.  I added very light brickwork stencilling and coloured everything with Promarkers.

The Library Challenge - Elmer

The new challenge at The Library is Elmer by David McKee.

Elmer By David McKee

The first time I saw the patterned paper I used on my shaped elephant card, I thought of Elmer, a book that I'd first come across when teaching English to parents in schools. When I tell you that the paper is by Basic Grey (who closed down several years ago) you'll realise I've been waiting to use it for some time!

Anyway, for this card, I used an electronic cutting file on the Silhouette. I popped up half of the ear to give it dimension and I made an eye out of a punch and a black enamel dot.

I'd like to enter this card into:
Inspired by  a fortuitous coincidence that their challenge is patchwork

My second card is somewhat less colourful. It's a belated birthday card, using an elephant by Aal and Create and words and texture stamps from other companies.

Valentine Birthday

Just popping in to share this box card I made for my daughter whose birthday it is today- Valentine's Day.

I used a Silhouette e-cutter cutting file by Lori Whitlock - it's really a Valentine project but I made it birthday by choice of colours and papers, and by cutting a birthday sentiment.

Must dash, as she's on her way over here now...!

Triple Reindeer

Here's a one-layer card using two stamp sets - one had the stitch-effect circles (49 and Market) , the other the reindeer and sentiment (Unknown). I coloured with Promarkers and added some white liquid enamel drops,

Romance

Hello from stormy Hertford, England, where I'm trying to blog between powercuts!

Here I stamped a Kanban image in brown ink on a tag, and sponged with Distress Ink. I layered it onto some dark brown card and embellished ...I haven't done this level of embellishing for a long time!

Inkspirational Challenges - LOVE Photo

Our new challenge at Inskpirational  is to be inspired by the photo below.

For my DT project I was inspired by the big letters and made a 'love train' using an SVG cutting file on my Silhouette cutting machine.

The Library Challenge - Groggle's Monster Valentine

The new challenge at The Library has been chosen by Visiting Librarian Michelle, (aka I Card Everyone)  and it's Groggle's Monster Valentine by Diana Murray and Bats Langley. This book is new to me but it's about a monster who makes a card so lots of ideas - monsters, crafting, Valentine's...

For my card I used five different sets of stamps, from different manufacturers:I stamped the monster (Concord and 9th), masked him and put a tube of paint (Waffle Flower) in his hand. I stamped the heart (brand unknown), the splatters (Visible Image)  and the sentiment (Stampin Up). I coloured with Promarkers and added washi tape.
