..something old, something new

Here you see some different uses of pallets. My house is so full of pallets at the moment, and I'm planning on bringing in even more. Anyway, this is our bedroom. Out of these lovely old planks we got a headboard for our bed, a mirror frame and a wall decoration.

Check out this site for more great ideas on combining old and new stuff.

..DIY curtains

1.

2.

1.
This whimsical curtain was very easy to make. It's just a piece of linen fabric that is the same size as the window (frame included), wrapped up with two large ribbons (made out of the same fabric). I have been cheating a little bit at each side of the curtain, shaping it the way I want with a hidden needle. This kind of curtain is for decoration only, but I also use it for hiding a window blind.

2.
Another version that my amazing mom made for us. She rolled the fabric on a curtain rod.

I love these kind of curtains since the rooms seem bigger, we get more light in and our little kid can't tear them down..

I also used a glue gun for this project. This can also be flower vase, but if you are intending to use it as a tealight holder I would recommend to use a jar with a wider neck cause this can get really hot.

A hot tip; If you need a lot of small jars, then ask someone with a baby. We end up with tons of them! At least I do..
