First Day at work..... Anderson got Markus to pick us up from the reception and brought us to Dr Portman. He is a , guy who is very cool and steady. First impression is that he is very stern, aloof, a guy who seldom joke and his eyes seemed intimidating. i nv have the courage to strike a conversation with him during lunch time. however, Dr Nicolaus is more friendly i would say. He is a father of 3 month old baby girl. My impression of Portman changed when we met him after work at Marienplatz. He went up to us to say hello when he saw us. He was there to get some CDs. Nv did i expect that he would offer to bring us to a large sport shop as we are looking for Germany National jersey for a colleagues of ours. Along the way, his memerising eyes melted me. He seemed so dashing in his black coat, with a black sling bag. However i nv had the chance to ask him if he's married or not.

4am: wat an unearthly hour to wake up
5.30am: Shujun sms: where are u? we reached
6am: Anderson & me queueing to check in, PohLin joined us 10mins later.
630am: specky buddies met specky me. i must get my hands on those specky photo taken at the airport.
6.45am: boss sms us, where are u all? weel, he came to send us off! nice boss.
740am: plane took off to BKK international airport where we have to wait another 4hours to board the plane to Munich.
We met Ralf Turner on the plane to BKK for transit. wat a coincident. he is returning to Munich after attached to Sing for 8 months. reached BKK at about 1145am BKK time (an hr behind Sing). 4 hours to kill before boarding on 747 to Munich.
10 over hours of flight is torturous. PoH Lin has a Austrian old man beside her who keeps talking to her. i was quite lucky to sit in between Anderson and PohLin.
Boring on the plane, but lucky to have colleagues beside me.
P: anymore bring cards?
me: oh ya, i forget all abt poker cards.
A: nvm, i ask the air stewardess for it.
A: excuse me, can i have a deck of poker cards?
Air Steward: sorry sir, we dun have cards.
A: oh no, but my kids need something to play.
Air Steward: how about this
A: Thankz
and he passed tis to me.
Thankz Anderson! i'm the kid that needs this to entertain myself on the plane.
Touched down at 720pm ( Munich time, 6 hours behind Sin)
830pm: cleared custom, collect luggage, waiting for train to Hotel.
930pm: Haupbanhof (Main train Station), we make our way to Hotel Ludwig.
A: lets go up and bath and meet half an hour later to buy the necessities.
That night turn in at 11pm...... but keep waiting up every 1 ot 2 hour intervals. jet lag.....

The usual fog of lethargy seemed to detract as I am going to catch the musical which i had been hankering for. Yes, its the world-renown musical- Tha Phantom of the Opera that will be staged in Singapore for the 2nd time. I think the first was duing my primary sch days, as far as i can remember. While raring my way into the theatre, there seemed a chorus of immerse excitment and tingue of nostalgia in the air. Hordes of audiences making a beeline at the entrance. I am sure our dear miSS nG and my aHbUjI feels the same too. all ready to savour the richness of this musical.
Rebecca who protray Christine Daaz is a prima donna!! She enticed the hearts of all audiences with her voice. undoubtly an epitome of Sarah Brightman. Each backdrop sprouts surreptitiously yet, creating a wholly new gleaming vibe from the previous. i was facinated!
My ears pricked up and eyes peeled for every minutia of the show. Each second was too palpable to be missed. I was unduly shrouded in this romantic yet heart wretching musical.
A nugget to share: each performance characterises 230 costumes, 14 dressers, 120 automated cues, 22 scene changes, 281 candles and 250kg of DRY ICE and 10 fog and smoke machines.
Isn't it magnificient? Every part of the musical de riguer.
A few scene i would like to accentuated, albiet many scenes of THE PHAMTOM OF THE OPERA are no stranger to many.
The ghostly appearance of the phantom in the mirror and shoving Christine down Ladyrinth underground as the infamous song titled "The Phantom if the Opera" fluttered. It created a awesome scenario.
An antomated boat that saunterred swiftly through the fog from dry ice, which protrayed as a tranquil lake, creating a serene enclave.
I was profoundly moved by scene 10, set on the roof of the opera house where the phantom was drench in bitterness. Echoes of Raoul and Christine singing "All i Ask of You". Well, it was a wound into my very soul of being too.

After KTV session at cenileisure with Buds- Sj and Cher, i met up with mummy for shopping.
And guess what, i splurge on a pair of Balmain watch. THe most expensive pair of watch i ever bought for myself. Retail price is $850. Emotus- a watch retail shop in Ngee Ann City is having HuGE sales! All items ranging from Tag to Gucci to Armani to Swatch are on 20 to 50 percent sales. Well, and my got this for $510! 40percent off! good deal ya. there goes my pro-rated bonus. But this retail therapy is good for one's well being. At least i can see the fruits of working so hard for the past 4+months. A well deserved pat on my shoulders ya.
