Lilly & Holly & Sarah
To the considerate person it might look as though she were brushing a blossom from her sister's head
In actual fact she was looking for a good place to put her caterpillar "Sarah".
Touch it, feel it's little feet mommy.... No mommy, Really Touch it!

anxious
Today is one of those anxiety days. The kind where you wake up and your mind tells you that you can't do it (Whatever it is). In some cases it is just functioning for the day. Luckily, My meds help me enough that the back of my mind can tell the anxiety to be quiet and get out of the way, Cause I am on the move! I don't like these kind of days but I am getting better at working around them for the most part. I actually prefer the manic days. You know that kind where you are so dang happy and perky you bug other people, and then later you are so ill fit in society that you would rather hide, from everyone. And you cry at the silly movies you would have never cried at before. Oh well, it has been almost 2 weeks since the last one of those for me. So I get to deal with the angst today. If I just keep functioning I will be okay!

Stood up
Holly and I were having this great time outside this morning. We were digging in the dirt. I had to bury the new compost, then move my Earth Boxes, and mulch around the area so I don't have to deal with weeds. I admit I cheated again, and put newspapers down underneath the mulch so it would be even harder for weeds to succeed. I was having a great time, when Holly started to get distressed. She was wet, and muddy, and was afraid to climb the slide alone. We headed into the house to clean up. I washed my hands and then most all of her. We had to change a diaper, and the clothes, and socks, etc. I decided to start the dishwasher, and go down stairs to sort the laundry. I left the front door open but with the Storm door locked cause I was expecting my visiting teachers. I didn't want to miss them. I proceeded down stairs into the black hole which is where laundry is done.(Black holes are always where the other sock goes!) I started washer, the dryer, and kept sorting clothes. I glanced up and found the clock had stopped at 10:38 pm. which scared me, so I grabbed Holly and we walked out of the Laundry room only to see the computers state that the time was 10:09 am. So I went back to the laundry. A few minutes later I went up stair and noticed it was 10:20. I saw the back of one teachers car, and figured she was just parking. Only she didn't come up to the house.... About 11:15 I get a call, from the other teacher, checking to see if I was okay. I said sure but didn't I have an appointment at 10:30am? She said no, it was 10 am. OH! She told me some wild tale about ringing the doorbell many times, shouting, and just being down right annoying, all to no avail. I heard nothing. Wow, maybe I should hide in the laundry room on pupose some time. You know stash a book and a candy bar or something. No one likes to look in there, I could be missing for hours..... It is a thought. Got any better ones?

Gnum- Gnum
Have you ever been bored on a rainy Sunday afternoon...Have you been so busy with homework procrastination that your imagination got away from you and took over an in- animate object. Meet Bruce and Gnum-Gnum... He has found new entertainment and humor in Gnum-Gnum's adventures and activities. Gnum-Gnum likes to chew on people's necks, Chase Holly, and my personal favorite, Arm wrestle. He isn't very good, but he does make the compitition smile. Of course Gnum-Gnum was created by the same person who said that whomever cuts the teddy grahams out of the graham crackers must be really good with scissors....(today!)

Love it!
I have to tell you, I totally love it when friends and family come to visit! It seems like so often we are like the only ones here. (No, I didn't forget Isaac and Amy,) We often feel isolated. We like where we live so that is that I guess, But this past week has been pretty cool. You know the phrase "when it rains it pours..." That was the past week. We got to see my sister Rebecca's Girls that were on tour, (I even remembered, just barely before it was too late, to let Isaac know so he could visit with them too.), and then we got to see Jason & Michelle & Mila. Way cool. I had a great time talking their ears off, Bruce and Spencer got to go Golfing with Jason and Bruce's friend John. (Jason did better than my boys) We got to play with Mila, and Holly had a buddy to learn to deal with for a while. It was a good experience. Cora and Lilly were banished to their rooms, but the rest of the crew enjoyed visiting.
As for Lilly and Cora, well, they said at 97.4 Liilian's fever is gone, but she does have an ear infection, and she needs to be on Claritin daily right now. Plus her Nose got to have a "Saline Car Wash" as the nurse put it. I also managed to get her to eat three things today, so I am making progress. Cora ate way more than Lilly, and she really looked much better tonight. We shall see what her temp. Is in the morning. I pretty sure Lilly will be going to school tomorrow, but I doubt it for Cora, we shall see. What fun these challenges are!

Tidal Basin Adventure
So Saturday we went on an adventure to see a couple of perfomances at the Tidal Basin Stage. This is located at the base of the Jefferson Memorial, next to the Tidal Basin of course. We saw a flamenca dancing groups, they had very beautiful dresses, and danced very nicely. Then we were able to see The Timpview High School Marching Band from Provo, Utah. My two nieces were performing in the band. one was playing the baratone and the other the trombone. They did an excellent job and played some really nice pieces. We also got to see them for a few minutes before and after. They are really terrific girls, and they are having a great adventure for themselves. We were all glad we could see them.

ow ow ow
While some parts of the country are experincing a bitter winter that won't go away, we have Spring here in Va. Which causes aches and pains. I realize that shoveling snow does as well,(We never got a snow storm this year) but I really go all out this time of year. I take great pleasure in causing pain and inflamation to my body in the spring time. After all there are bags of mulch, soil conditioner, lime, grass seed, humus and manure, insecticide, ironite, and weed killer to be hauled. Yes I have a wheelbarrow, but you still must pick it up and open it ,and put it in the wheel barrow, and move it around. I know it hurts, and I know, I will be worn out the next day, but I love to play in the dirt this time of year! It isn't hot enough to wipe you out totally, but it is warm enough to make me have to take an allergy pill - pollen is flying. So I guess causing that kind of pain is fun. ow ow ow....

sorry..
It appears I have wrankled an elder, with my statement about scars and mars. I do appologize. I meant I have more than my husband and children put together. Not more than my siblings.
They are by far legend, and that is just the know facts. Lets not worry about those things that haven't been exposed. I have chosen to learn from the mistakes of others, due to the fact I can't make them all myself. I have learned to not try to break land speed records and that bicycles need to obey traffice signs too. I have never gotten a speeding ticket on a bicycle.(or in a car... knock on wood.) Some legends just have to stay that way - I just didn't enjoy chemistry enough to blow up the lab, un like a couple of others I know.
So if I have irked you I do appologize, you can take the prize.

Information on me!
Okay, so Kira tagged me but I am often computer challenged. So here is my attempt:
Seven Weird facts about me: (assisted by my teenagers)
1. I managed to open and use a new rotary blade today without cutting any of my appendages!
2. I can have entire conversations in my sleep, and only vaguely recall talking to someone.
3.I am totally bored by video games.
4.Having a lot of things on my schedule totally stresses me out.
5.I love German beer drinking songs cause they are so cheerful, they make me happy! I love to work while they are playing.
6. I love to cheerfully yell greetings to my kids friends (the older the better!)- totally the dorky mom!
7.I have scars and marks from stitches all over my body, far more than the rest of my immediate family (8 others ) all put together. Due to my very adventurous outdoor childhood.
I don't know 7 other people that haven't been tagged recently, that would bother to answer. Sorry.

My first ancestor in Utah
Who: Our first ancestor to come to Utah was Joseph Corrodon Kingsbury. He was born 15 May 1812 in northern Connecticut. (near Enfield) Through the course of events in his life, he moved around much to sustain himself. In December 1831 he traveled to Kirtland, Ohio looking for employment. He found work with a Mr. Knight, a merchant, he worked as a clerk, and book keeper) He left after 3 weeks to work for Newel K. Whitney, also a merchant. Joseph had known the Whitney’s since he was a lad. Newel had been a friend of Joseph’s father and uncle, and had boarded at the Kingbury home in Paineville, Ohio. Whitney a new convert to “Mormonism” was instrumental in converting Joseph C. Kingsbury. He was baptized 15th January 1832.
Why: Joseph C. Kingsbury was an active member of the church. He and his 2 wives came with Bishop Newel K. Whitney and the Saints as they exited from Nauvoo, Illinois. They were being persecuted and killed for their religious beliefs if they stayed in Illinois. None of the United States would offer them protection so they headed west.
How: They traded their horses for oxen and a wagon. Joseph walked along side his oxen to guide them. They were in Brother Smoot’s 100 and Captain Wallace’s 50 in the 2nd company (the “Big Company”). Joseph C. Kingsbury was appointed clerk, to keep track of their trek. They traveled along the “Mormon trail” building houses in Missouri at “Winter Quarters”. At the Platte River they left the “Mormon trail” and crossed over to the “Oregon trail”. At Ham’s Fork they once again rejoined the “Mormon trail”. They called their destination Upper California. From Ham’s Fork they walked on toward and through the Wasatch Mountains.
When: They left Nauvoo, Illinois, and crossed the Mississippi River to begin their journey the middle of June, 1846. On September 25th 1847, after 19 months of travel, they came through Emmigration Canyon.
Where: Initially they settled in the Salt lake Valley, near the “Old Fort.” They built an adobe house there. 11/19/47 His daughter Bashua was the fist female child born in the “New Zion”. When the city was officially organized, Joseph was able to secure a building lot on Block 19 – 10 acres of land (5 for each wife.) and then purchased 15 acres of land nearby in Mill Creek.
He had to either butcher or barter his oxen to survive the first winter. He planted crops, and orchards. His crops were severely attacked in may of 1848 by the black crickets. Due to the seagulls he was able to save some of his corn and wheat. He farmed and did odd jobs in the beginning. He ran a ferry crossing for the Weber River and then later the Green River.
My Great Grandmother, Mary Ophelia Kings bury was born January 7th 1852. At which point Joseph C. had 5 little girls under age 5.
I had just gathered basic information to this point for my nephews report. The information I have listed was taken from a biography on Joseph C. Kingsbury written by Lyndon W. Cook published 1985. 4/2/2008

What is in Bruce's name...
Okay so this thing is going around the family sites and I tried it but it just didn't seem to work for me, or my husband. But hey I am trying to figure out my teenager. The don't always tell you about themselves. So I did my eldest to see what it says about him. It sounds like he is a pretty cool cucumber. I wonder why I love him and want to strangle him at alternating times...
What Bruce Means |
You are bold and daring. You are willing to do some pretty outrageous things. Your high energy sometimes gets you in trouble. You can have a pretty bad temper at times. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way. And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life. You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. |
